TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice:
omabroowniee: You have stated that you wish to visit your husband in the uk.I note that when you submitted ur application in Dec u made no mention of ur husband(then fiancee) residing in the uk.I have noted ur explanation wch i do not find plausible and this omision undermines ur application. You have stated u are employed with a monthly income of 90k,on your previous application u stated ur income was 120k,you have given no account of this discrepancy.
Apparently, the eco observed that you were desperately seeking admission into the UK and suspected you of dishonesty.
Though, spouse visa application is not in same category with visit/tourist visa application, but if you committed a fraud or violation in your tourist visa application, it would cast doubt in the credibility of your status. So, it would help if you can clear the discrepancies.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 11:23am On Sep 23, 2013
omabroowniee: Yes he does,he meets all the financial requirements and earning points. He recently got a renewal in april for his visa. So you think i do not need to address the issues they raised
I can't give my opinion on that since you did not state the reason/s for the refusal.
However, it will help to know the difference between your previous (tourist/visit) application and your intended spouse visa application.
Important: ensure that you have valid evidence to satisfy the visa officer that your relationship is one that is credible and is sustained. Gather every proof of contact and communication between the two of you
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice:
omabroowniee: Hi.Pls i need some information.I applied as for a family visitor to visit my husband in the uk but was denied(that was about 6mths ago). Now i want to apply again to join him there on his visa Tier1.Do i need to address the concerns raised by the ECO in the refusal or is it just a fresh application entirely.I also did an admin review at that time and got a response. Thanks
Though, the previous application can have influence on new application, but this application will be treated in its own merit. Before making a new application, you need to consider these: does ylour husband earn money, how much does he earn annually?
TravelRe: German Visa After Marriage by Vicjustice: 6:09pm On Sep 22, 2013
mile2bernie: I am a German citizen and i married my wife now. After she submit all the documents to the German embassy, how long will it takes to get the visa?
Remember that marriage certificate is not the only requirement for spouse visa, there are conditions that you have to fulfill and your spouse has conditions to fulfill too.
Usually (if all conditions are fulfilled) it would take within 6 to 18 months for straight cases, but it could take years if the case is complicated.

adeniyi bolanle: i submitted my application yesterday 20/09/2013 and i intend to travel on 12/10/2013 looking at it 11/10/2013 will be exactly 15 working days for my application, i hope this will not hinder me from getting my visa? it is a visiting visa
The vast majority of applicants in this kind of circumstance get refused on the ground of insufficient time. The onus is on you to give plenty of time to allow the visa officer enough time to comfortably decide your application

serves: Pls a kind Nairalander, I need information on the following urgently!!!!!!

1. I intend to renew my work permit visa which i hold as a dependant under my wife who's in UK

2. I am currently in Nigeria and i want to do renewal with my own work documents

3. Would the embassy require any of my wife's documents or i can go ahead and use my work documents gotten from just 3 months work in UK before my visa expired?

4. In summary can i sponsor myself without necessarily using wife's details?

thank u.
It's (usually) not possible to obtain or renew a permit without the presence of the EU citizen through whom you obtain the status: it is (usually) a requirement that you prove that you're a habitual resident in the country all through the years of the validity of the permit, and (usually), you are required to present your wife with her identification documents in order to be attended to, and this is (usually) done inside the country.
From your narration, you're going to give the immigration officers the reason to suspect that your marriage is one of convenience.
TravelRe: Flight Announcement: Woman Missed Her Flight by Vicjustice: 5:38pm On Sep 20, 2013
babeface3: Is it that the announcers at the airport must speak in that near oyibo accent or is it the rule that they must announce flight in such way?

A woman yesterday missed her flight and had to pay extra after lamenting her fate, having missed a very important event at Abuja. According to her, she could'nt understand the English spoken by the flight announcer when she was suppose to board.

I think this attitude looks ridiculous, and typical of most things done in this part of the world. While in Europe, all the airports through which I had traveled made necessary announcements in the local languages before making such announcements in English.

Is it bad if announcements are made in the 3 major languages in Nigeria before such English spoken with funny twang. shocked
What business has a person who doesn't understand English got with the airport without a guide?
By the way, not every Nigerian understand any of the major languages?

It would have been a problem for tourist/visit visa application, but it could be ok for student visa application provided the visa officer is satisfied that the money is available and accessible to you

Great people, great work, great ideals, great nation and great forum
I want you guys to shield more light on this issue, a friend of mine want to visit the UK with his wife and child
They have the following documents ready
Business documents
Business letter of introduction
Hotel reservation
Flight booking
Marriage certificate
Court affidavit of change of name for the wife
Magazine showing the change of name
Bank statement
Tax clearance

The question is: the date of birth on their passport is 199s respectively, hope this won’t make the eco to raise eyebrow on the application?
What did you guy suggest they should do in other to make the application a successful one?
What documents they should add to the ones they already have.
Please, we need you guy assistance on this issue.
Thanks, waiting for your reply.
What year were they born in and how long have they been married?
Well, since they were born in the 90s, their ages could be a bit questionable, seemingly too young for the comfort of visa officers: reputable Nigerians with credibility rarely marry that young.

thinka2: 10. They’re sneaking you decaf coffee
Why would they give you regular if that just means you’ll be awake for hours, wanting snacks, wanting drinks, and asking pointless questions
Na wah for this guy o!
Why not just say that flight attendant give passengers anaesthetic injection or that they euthanize passengers: or even that they use poisonous gas on passengers to make their jobs easier?
These are people who are heroes in the sky: and the lives of hundreds of people (in each flight) are in their tiny hands and here someone is making slanderous analysis and allegations against them
TravelRe: REVEALED: 10 Secrets Flight Attendants Will Never Tell BUT You Must Know by Vicjustice: 4:38pm On Sep 19, 2013
thinka2: 7. They’re not on the clock until the doors are closed
If the crew doesn’t seem to care about you until the doors are closed, that’s because they’re not being paid to. They don’t make a dollar until those doors are shut which is also why they rush you to put your bags away and sit down
This is condescending to flight crews: perhaps you're talking about the Nigerian (domestic flight crews) but if you are generalizing it, you should have known that flight crews get paid as long as they are on duty whether their planes take off or not
TravelRe: REVEALED: 10 Secrets Flight Attendants Will Never Tell BUT You Must Know by Vicjustice:
thinka2: 5. They delay dinner on purpose
If you’re asleep, your flight attendant is supposed to leave you alone and that means less work. For this reason, the crew will often delay dinner as long as possible on night flights, so that half the plane is asleep and they don’t have to serve
This is unreasonable, if a person misses his dinner while he sleeps, this would mean double job for the crew because, once he wakes up, he will press the attention button and demand for his meal which the flight attendants can not deny him.
By the way, flight attendants do wake up sleeping passengers with words like "sir, do you want anything"
TravelRe: REVEALED: 10 Secrets Flight Attendants Will Never Tell BUT You Must Know by Vicjustice: 3:49pm On Sep 19, 2013
thinka2: 2. Nice clothes can get you to first class
You actually can be upgraded for free to business or first class once the cabin doors have
been closed. But here’s a secret: the crew isn’t going to put a slob in stained sweatpants up there, so dressing nice could be your ticket to first class service at economy prices
Now, this is misinformation, who is writing all these; is this not that website that wrote some nonsense about the extreme danger of using ATM machines abroad?
TravelRe: REVEALED: 10 Secrets Flight Attendants Will Never Tell BUT You Must Know by Vicjustice: 1:55pm On Sep 19, 2013
thinka2: 1. They’ll intentionally delay flights
If a flight is delayed, the crew often gets paid overtime. But this only kicks in after a certain amount of delay, so sometimes the crew (after the doors have closed and they are in fact on the clock) will delay take off intentionally
This can't be correct, they don't and can't deliberately delay flight, the airport is not theirs and they have to vastly depend on Air Traffic Controllers to guide them for taxi to the run way and for permission and clearance to take off.
If only the narrator knows how bored and home sick flight crews are, s/he wouldn't have said this, besides, these people are under protocols and their every minute is accountable to their company, so I don't accept that they could deliberately delay a flight because, flight operation is totally up to the ATC
@Vicjustice.. Thank for the good job you are doing on this section; God bless u. Pls. I intend to apply for uk visa.
*I work with a private company; presently on monthly salary of 205k . Can i include my appointment letter of 8yrs ago which shows my my monthly pay of 70k as at then?
*Will salary account balance of 600k be enough for me to seek visa?
*i have a land document with receipt of purchase at N1.1M?
*I am married with 2 kids
*Av been to UAE and an Africa country
Do i stand a chance of being issued a visiting visa to uk with all the above declaration? Please advice me and give more enlightenment. Thanks
On the basis of your family status and your salary, you would stand a reasonable chance, but the concern is your available fund which is likely to be a problem.
As for your appointment letter of 8 years, I'll recommend you get something current to support it: get a letter from your employer granting leave of absence from your job for a specified period. The letter should also say how long you have been employed by your employer, in what job(s) and should indicate when you are expected back at work

lawland: Do anyone know anything about fixed deposit account as an evidence of fund for Australia visa purposes? My cousin fixed deposited the money meant for my sponsorship for the required 3 months cos we can't afford to just leave it in an account.. He stated in his declaration of sponsorship letter that the money in the account was fixed for the sole purpose of sponsoring me.. We did this cos the financial requirement page in DIAC website didn't state anything against it and they have not complained since almost 3 weeks I filed my application.. Can any experienced person comment on this?
What type of visa are you applying for?

surecan: Justwise and Vicjustice please assist me on this issue, pls assist me, according to immigration website, they said that standard Nigeria passport have a life span of 10 years with initial validity of 5 years, now my question is can they just extend it after that 5 years to another 5 years making it 10 years as stated or they will issue a new passport, because i approached embassy where i reside, they said they will extend it to another 5 years that i dont need a new one,if so will embassy accept this extension type
This regulation highly depends on the immigration authority or the Nigerian embassy in your country of residence, the embassy has the power to overrule the pre-existing terms and conditions of its national passport and to decide whether an expired passport is to be renewed or replaced: If a passports is to be renewed, it can be done by endorsement (stamp with data filling), and such endorsed passport is as acceptable in any foreign embassy as a new one

Thanks To Justwise. *nd Vic (I read all yur posts)
I have a new question tho.
My Vacation remains only a week. I really don't have any reason to travel anymore.
I planned to spend 6weeks but 4 weeks is already gone and this is the 5th week.
Can I use it later. Let's say december? Won't I have any issue with it?
If the visa is a general visit/tourist visa (not a visa of time sensitive circumstance), then you can use it any time, but avoid traveling too late-toward the end of the visa, so they won't suspect you are intending to overstay the visa

Cyndas: hi all, my visa was refused as the eco among other things said i stated that my job was full time. My job is a contract job and i stated it on the form by clicking employment parttime.i have photocopies of the form, so that was a mistake on their part.
I want to reapply as i have made corrections on other issues raised but my concern is if i should draw their attention to the error under travel history-the place they asked 'if you have been refused a visa before and why' or......
Of course, it is to your advantage to (reasonably) attribute a reason of your refusal to their own error.

damori4u: Hello justwise,
i was directed to this trend by a friend and having read through some of the answers and comments I can say i am impressed.
I hope I will get good guidance to my questions as well.
My husband left for study in the u.k early this month and i will like to join him as soon as he settles down. The consensus before he left was after a month or two. I have a 1 year old son. I want to apply for a tier 4 dependent visa
Please I will like to know
1. If waiting a month or two will be okay
2.what documents we need to prepare ahead for submission.
Please I will be looking forward to your candid advice.
Thanks
Note: I still has the money for financial requirement for all of us in his account.
Not so much to do with the time, it's more to do with meeting the requirements, and I doubt that your husband qualifies to bring his family to the UK at this time
