Obuaku Seaport Construction: It is in the Obuaku, Ukwa West LGA, and the site lies by the Azumini River that flows into the Atlantic Ocean. And what is more, since it is just five nautical miles from the Ocean it qualifies technically as a seaport, not a river port, going by the UN’s laws. Right in Obuaku, there is a confluence point where the Imo River and the Blue River meet. The Obuaku confluence passes through Ikot-Abasi in Akwa Ibom State. This project IF achieved will open up the manufacturing and commercial sector of Abia to the entire world. Potential Contractors: NORINCO

Good analysis, but if Aligbo is it's own country, or even not, northerners cannot block the upstream flow of the Niger, or at least, that would be met with international resistance.

Imo River runs from Imo, Abia, Akwa Ibom and empties into the atlantic ocean. River Niger runs from outsde Nigeria through Anambra, Imo, Rivers, Bayelsa and empties into the ocean If Nigeria ================== (hopefullly Akwa Ibom and Rivers/Bayelsa do not remain with Nigeria but form their own country or countries), then Igbos can work with Akwa Ibom and Rivers/Bayelsa to implement the dredging of these rivers up to Aba and Onitsha, respectively, to permit entry of large ships. Those countries (i.e., Akwa Ibom and Rivers) will get their shipping tolls paid for by SE, at the main wharfs, and the ships will sail inward to alaigbo. It looks like working on Imo River will be much more sustainable and self containing as it is devoid of external vagaries of the River Niger. Abokis may block the River Niger water upstream of Igboland. In contrast, Imo River begins in Alaigbo. Alternatively, or even in addition to the above, although Opobo is in Rivers State, it is populated to a large extent by people with Igbo ancestry (King Jaja of Opobo connection). So, with proper win-win arrangment, we can have an ''Igbo annex'' country in Opobo with more ready access to the sea.

My friend used to tell me, all Ebonyi people are the same. He used to erroneously call everybody from Ebonyi "Nwa Abakeleke" until he landed into one who felt berated by this tag. Ebonyi is a state in Eastern Nigeria predominantly populated by Igbo people. But since their creation, other Igbo State still insult the people for apparent lack of development, and education.

People from Ebonyi are stereotyped to be savages, fight easily at slight provocation, crude, ruthless, hostile and maybe unclean to marry from other Igbo tribes. Many people who criticise Ebonyi have never been there all their lives, yet they know that there are only bushes and dangerous people in the state.

Ebonyi is not a one tribe state. Abakaliki is an area in the state and not the whole people. Many part of Ebonyi does not even share any cultural or language similarities with the other tribes in the state. Eg the Igboesa clan( a close related cluster of seven communities Nkalagu, Amaezu, Ezillo, Umuhuali, Obeagu, Iyionu in the boundary of the state. They share the same language with Eha-Amufu and part of Nkanu both in Enugu. These people will hate you if you ever call them derogatory names or so called 'Nwa Abakeleke'. It is a big slight on them. There are other tribes in Ebonyi like in Ivo who are separate entities and are 'just' part of Ebonyi.

People from other states in East are asked about their towns, but once you are from Ebonyi, u are stereotyped and mockery made of you.
"Nwa Abakeleke' becomes your tag.
