Chinonye94: APPROVAL ALERT! Submitted paper application on the 24th of April 2019 Medical request: 13th June 2019 Eligibility review: 17th June 2019 Medicals done at QLife: 4th July 2019 Medicals passed: 15th July 2019 BVL: 26th July 2019 Approval: 29th July 2019
Application profile Admission into MSc/PhD in Biochemistry and Medical Genetics, University of Manitoba, Fall 2019. I secured a supervisor with full funding (23000 CAD). ( I actually have an MSc in Biochemistry but had to apply for MSc because UofM Biochemistry department does not admit international students to PhD directly: I will be doing one year MSc coursework and move to PhD for the remaining 3 years) School fees: 12000 CAD
Documents submitted 1. Funding letter from supervisor 2. Printout from department website showing that they do not take students directly for PhD 3. Scholarship letter from UofM (5400 CAD) 4. Academic transcripts (MSc and BSc) 5. CV 6. SOP (3 pages) 7. SOA from my inlaw who has no dependents 8. Affidavit of support from inlaw 9. In law's landed property documents 10. Sponsor's business documents 11. International passport 12. Sponsor's international passport, and passport of dad's sister 13. Parents' and siblings' IDs 14. Academic awards gotten in secondary school and university, leadership certificates 15. Birth certificates (mine and my siblings') 16. Parents' and sponsor's marriage certificates 17. Admission letter 18. WAEC certificate First, i want to thank God Almighty, my own visa officer!! I very worried that the VO would think that because I applied for MSC rather than PhD, I want to run away, but God did it. I also did not submit my account statement or any landed property, but just explained in my sop that I'm passionate about making a difference upon my return to Nigeria. Even though I showed no proof other than my family, God still did it! Thanks to all the gurus and friends on this wonderful platform. You guys are all so amazing, God bless you!! To all those still waiting for results, God will speedily deliver your approvals in Jesus name. God bless you Congrats 4 Likes 1 Share |

Stephanie22: Good evening house, I got an admission into one of the colleges in Canada. I am a BSc holder with a 2.1 in one of the Nigerian universities.
I want to start the visa application process but do not know how to go about it.
I have never been employed. My sponsor is my brother who is outside the country. My father has a small company which I am thinking of using it as my family ties but still do not know how to go about it because I don't co-run the company with him.
Please house, help me with ideas on how to write my SOP and also how to give the VO a strong reason for coming back. Please I will really appreciate to be helped in this. Thank you everyone. which college? |

Jm879316: Pls what university in Canada do not accept an English test Yes most schools don't ask Nigeria for test of English but if your course is management course, it's possible you'd be asked to write GRE as its kind of advisable although there are some schools that wave GRE for their masters student and limit it to PhD only |

sterlingwaterlo: we met on Nairaland pm Ok. I made mistake during my application. But now I know my mistakes and I won't repeat such this time. Besides I applied to only one school in Canada because I felt my qualifications would give me instant admission but now I know better. apply as many as possible and mail several potential supervisors, write outstanding statement of intent, repackage your CV, pray as if you are submitting pass result and prepare as if you are not going to pray about it. Those are the lesson I have learnt so far during the application process. how's your Visa application now? 2 Likes |

hotboss: I don't know why I keep getting reject from all Canadian universities for masters ... Please I have 3.788/5.00 Mechanical Engineering.. I have been rejected up to 7times.. the last time I complained, someone asked me to apply to Dalhousie university.. they also rejected after I mailed hard copies of documents.
Please has anyone with such GPA got admission for masters? In Engineering field.
Please my people.. I need response .. ehyah bro I feel your pain. Just keep trying and don't give up. remember it's not over until it's over. I would advice that you look into your statement of interest or purpose or research or intent. This might be the reason considering the fact that you have a low cgpa. i have a first class and yet Manitoba denied me admission because I didn't write a convincing SOI or SOP. Secondly, try and get a supervisor before you submit your application. submitting your application without having a potential supervisor it's like saying you are on your own. except your department is saying you don't need one. And even if they are saying that, still proceed to mailing faculty staff until you get one. Write a convincing mail to them and attach your CV. This is the best time to start mailing them. its difficult but you need to follow that hard way this time. God bless your Labour this time bro 5 Likes |

I got admitted into this university but English proficiency test results was a requirement of which I wrote IELTS.. I even had to ask them if it’s necessary since my first degree was in English and I’m from an English speaking country.. so they sent me a link and said I should check if my country is listed amongst the list they created and that if not, then I would need to write an English test.. mehn, Nigeria wasn’t among o but I was very surprised to see countries like Kenya, Zimbabwe... I was so shocked. That’s how I later wrote IELTS o Thank God I did well what about medium of instruction? sometimes medium of instruction replaces ilets. I could remember when I applied to wageningen then, ilets or toefl was requested and I submitted medium of instruction. it was accepted and I got my admission letter for my MSc in 10days of application but not going this year again because the final selection for OKP scholarship didn't favour me. I don't know if they take medium of instruction because am considering that school too for my MSc. |

The Lord Jesus truly glorified himself. When it took so long to get a medical request I sent several emails and web forms. And I also contacted the school international students services unit to inform them about the situation. I think God used them to reach out to the consulate. I also sent an email to the IRCC Minister. The same day I received my medical request, the school replied me. After medical examination there was no update for about 20 days. I prayed, sent emails and web forms. There was no update. I again contacted international student services. About two weeks later medical was passed on a Sunday! ISS reached back to me again to confirm if I have received any update. And I told them about the update. Then Friday 28 June morning, Biometric Validity Letter and PPR within the space of one hour. I almost lost hope thinking my application would be as the case of June/July 2018 applicants but God showed me mercy. Congrats bro 1 Like |
