Following recent remarks by the US Secretary of State, John Kerry and the European Union on the postponement of the general elections, the Federal Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today Feb. 11th, warned all foreign missions in the country to stop interfering in its internal affairs, particularly its electoral process.At a meeting with over a hundred heads of missions in Abuja, the Minister of foreign affairs, Amb. Aminu Wali, said information reaching the Federal government indicates that some foreign missions want to interfere in the electoral process and that the federal government will not tolerate such actions. He said interference in Nigeria's internal affairs by foreign envoys is unacceptable..."No country, I repeat no country, no matter how well intentioned can love Nigeria more than Nigerians themselves. Excellencies let me seize this opportunity to express the strong displeasure of the Federal government on conducts of some heads of mission who have continued to behave in an imperial manner and in clear breech of the channel of diplomatic communication. A situation where a head of mission takes on the role of a government seeking to impose the views and perspectives of its government and make unguided utterances on matters that are strictly within the domestic jurisdiction of the host country is unacceptable. Let me be clear, the Federal government would no longer tolerate the excesses of such heads of mission. They are hereby advised to operate within the norms and etiquette of diplomatic intercourse” the Minister said.While reacting to the postponement in a statement released on Sunday February 8th, US Secretary of State, John Kerry said “political interference with the Independent National Electoral Commission” is unacceptable, calling on the government to “not use security concerns as a pretext for impeding the democratic process”.

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Cross River State has accused the Director General (DG) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Governor Chibuike Amaechi, of giving money to 500 pastors in October last year to get their support for his political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).The pastors made the accusation against Amaechi who is also the Rivers State Governor in apparent response to the allegations he made recently against pastors in the country whom he accused of collecting N6 billion from the ruling party to mount campaigns against the Presidential Candidate of the APC, Muhammadu Buhari.Commenting on the N6 billion allegations made by Amaechi against pastors on Monday, the Chairman of the PFN in Cross River State, Bishop (Dr.) Emmah Isong told journalists that though no money has been given to pastors as alleged by Amaechi, the DG of Buhari’s presidential campaign lacks the moral authority to accuse anyone of giving pastors money to campaign against the political interest of the APC.Buttressing his claim that Amaechi was being hypocritical concerning the allegation he levelled against pastors in the country, Isong who spoke at theheadquarters of his church , the Christian Central Chapel International (CCCI) , said: “My first answer to that will be that the governor that said thatdid not mention names. Pastor (Enoch) Adeboye himself on the 4th of February at TREM (The Redeemed Evangelical Mission ) Headquarters in Lagos, in front of six thousand pastors challenged that whoever made the allegations should mention names. Igbo youths, under the aegis of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Worldwide, have warned that they would retaliate any attacks by the North on Igbo indigenes and their businesses before, during and after the general elections.

President of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Worldwide, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, gave the warning in Yenagoa at the weekend after a solidarity visit to the President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Udengs Eradiri.



He called on the Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Niger State Governor,  Babangida Aliyu, to prevail on  his colleagues to ensure adequate provision of security for the Ndigbo in the North.

Isiguzoro said though the Igbo in the North had been asked by the group to remain calm, any attacks on them would be responded with coordinated reprisals in the East and South-South regions of the country.

According to him, the call on NGF to ensure  security for Igbo indigenes was hinged on a security report that some northerners were planning to unleash violence in a bid to take  over the businesses and homes of the Ndigbo.

Mr GEJ, this is the end of it. All this attempts and stunts you and PDP are pulling is not going to save you. Last week, I was undecided. With how I was, I would have boycotted the polls for security reasons in Suleja or if I put up an appearance, vote in PDP. I don't know how you and your advisers think, in a 2 strong party state, elections are won be convincing swing voters. It is the swing voters that will determine the winner. personally, I wish the election was not postpone by INEC because it might lead to problem. My unbaised prediction for the next 6 weeks is that the real reason PDP wanted the election postpone is that they want more time to get Buhari disqualified by the court for perjury in his waec certificate. If the election had held on 14th February there wont have been much time for the court to decide.

I also believe PDP will get a judge to disqualified Buhari because the case is now in court and should be resolve before 6 weeks time. If Buhari is disqualified by the court, it would lead to serious problem in the country and might end up leading to civil war or military coup because the opposition party APC would not participate in all governorship, senatorial and presidential elections. I just pray for Nigeria because the future looks really bleak for the country right now. I also hope GEJ is not trying to hold on to power at all cost.

I don't think Jega will be sacked because GEJ is not that clueless to make that kind of decision just 6 weeks to the election. Jega just have 3 months left and I don't think his appointment will be renewed when it expires by May.

It was learnt that in a bid to sweep off Jega from his seat without raising any dust, he would be asked to comply with the civil service procedure by proceeding on his three months terminal leave with effect from March 1, this year since he is expected to retire on June 13.

1. It took me a whole day to register for a voters card and another three days to get a PVC which I eventually collected yesterday, both in a disorganised queue where the electoral officers hastily attended to people who bribed them with as little as N500. Others like me were told to follow due process. Due process that took them 3 days before they got to my turn.
How would I be encouraged to vote if the process is that tedious and corrupt?

2. Last time I checked, the policies that affect me and other youths aren’t discussed to nearly the same extent in the media, nor are they reflected in politicians’ priorities. Okay, I lied.
I’m actually looking for a job in a public primary school so I can eat one FREE meal per day.

3. Will my vote count? I was once posted to a rural community to stand in as a presiding officer during a certain INEC elections. Majority of people that came out to vote were illiterates bearing the same surname.

PS: Most poor couples in these communities have nothing to do for a living so they just spend all their time at home having s*x. The only thing they have in their house is a bed and pot. As expected, this is the reason why unemployed people keep dropping children every new moon.
If you have no source of income, you should consider a proper family planning method or you would continue selling your vote, your wife, your children and that of your children’ children for a half bag of rice.

4. In the early 90’s, my school assembly march usually ended with,

‘Parents, listen to your children
We are the leaders of tomorrow
Try and pay our school fees
And give us sound education’

In the past couple of years, I have been job hunting, generator is still our major source of power, standby PHCN is its alternative, I spent 6 years in the university for a 4-year course, a cup of garri is now N45, Nutri C has been reduced from 18g to 13g, titus sardine now has two fishes . . .etc

5. Finally, February 14th is Valentine’s day. I may be single but I intend to treat it as such.

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammadu Buhari, has called on all Nigerians to remain calm following Saturday’s postponement of the general elections from February 14 and 28 to March 28 and April 11.
Mr. Buhari addressed a world press conference at his campaign office in Abuja where he said he shares the pain and frustration Nigerians felt over the shift.
He said although he considers the shift of the election as a fraudulent attempt to subvert Nigeria’s democratic process, Nigerians should not be tempted into taking any action that will further endanger the country.
He however maintained that the new dates fixed by the electoral commission, INEC, must be sacrosanct.
“Before us, there is Nigeria, and long after we are gone there will be Nigeria,” Mr. Buhari said.
