If a power hungry Tinupoo was not involved in the electoral contest, you would most probably be dealing with someone like Osibanjo representing the South West in APC as the presidential flag bearer. That would have been dicey for the north. If the north went ahead to vote for Atiku or Kwankwaso against Osibanjo, there would not have been any other reason for that apart from tribalism. It would have been so glaring! That would have set off a chain of reactions and events down south.

But by skillfully luring the Emilokan masquerade into the scene, while aware that he's mentally unfit, the north played a very masterful card. To start with, Tinubu is thoroughly a flawed candidate.. Even his most ardent supporters look embarrassed standing behind him. Most of his supposed traditional political bases are traumatized by his bewildering campaign which is slowly turning into an epic comedy show. If he is rigged out of the presidency, most people will be nonchalant in such places like Lagos, Akure or say Benin. In the east, it will be good riddance to a fat rubbish. So who will agitate against Atiku or Kwankwaso then? None! More reason why the whole South should solidly stand behind Peter Obi.

But hate apart, the man transformed Asaba. The Asaba I met when I entered the city in 2018 had only summit road as the gateway,Marian Babangida Road was a big eyesore. I used to wonder why a state capital created over 20yrs ago was left undeveloped by previous govts, was it hate, tribalism or whatever I sometimes wonder. I am not a lover or promoter of any politician, but to say Okowa has done nothing is not fair. I drive around the city and with hindsight of what I met when I came in in 2018, the governor deserves some kudos in this regard.

Okowa did NOT do Jack for Asaba. Ok, Why did he Not make Stephen Keshi Stadium world class?

Asaba being the State Capital is developing by Itself. I suspect Influx of Nollywood producers, Yahoo Boys, Investors from Lagos and Anambra, etc being the reason..
