Passengers in a commercial bus heading to Lagos from Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, were kidnapped on Tuesday when unknown gunmen intercepted the bus in Isiala Mbano, Imo State.

Our correspondent gathered that the incident which happened at Odo Rubber road in Obiohuru in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of the state, had caused tension in the area.

The passengers were travelling in a bus marked Government Akwa Ibom State when the gunmen struck, took them away leaving behind the vehicle and luggage.

A community source told our correspondent that “no one knows where they were taken to. The bus was still steaming when the villagers saw it on Tuesday at that lonely area called Odo Rubber. Phones and luggage of the passengers were intact.”

Our correspondent gathered that the vehicle had been pushed out of the lonely road and handed over to the police.

The President-General of the community, Dr Sharon Ohaka, who spoke to our correspondent on the phone on Wednesday, said the bus had been pushed out of the lonely road by the youths. He also disclosed that the community had invited the police.


He said, “The vehicle had been pushed out of the lonely road. We have invited the police at the area command level and the divisional headquarters at Ishiebu. They have taken over the vehicle and the passengers’ luggage and the investigation process.

The Kano Speaker buttressed the popular slogan of TSG”SAKKAYA,” meaning “Payback” by declaring that “all of us in the North-West are aware of the role he (Asiwaju) played in taking our son, President Buhari, to the villa. So, we are going to reward him; we are going to pay him back. So, I have assured him of victory. Almost all the delegates from the North-West States are going to vote for him in the Primary elections.” He capped his assertions thus: “We don’t know a better candidate than Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.”



Speaking during the programme, a Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman, House Committee on Finance, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke poignantly declared that Asiwaju Tinubu deserves offer of first refusal from the APC for the 2023 Presidential election. In his speech titled “Run, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu,” Faleke said; “it is not often that history nurtures a particular person to fit into the need of a particular time; Our Party is therefore lucky that it does not need to go on a wild goose chase for the man to fly our Party’s flag in these challenging times; a time when the Presidency of Nigeria must go to the person who can continue to end banditry, to crush kidnappers and engage separatists so that our people can live in peace and prosperity. This is a man who will use his financial wizardry to further the gains of economic transformation.”

Faleke went further to state that “To secure the votes of majority in 2023, we must present a candidate who knows where the shoe pinches the average Nigerian, not just because he has been there, but because, as the governor of the most difficult, most complex state in Nigeria, he put smiles on the faces of the poor by convincing the rich to join the government to chase poverty from the streets…That man is Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He is already our National Leader. (And) by the practice and standards in other climes, when the issue of raising a Presidential candidate is on the burner, such a personality should be given the right of first refusal.”

Further pushing for the suitability of Asiwaju for the highest office in the land, Faleke said: “People have wondered why I am on the frontiers for the campaign to draft Asiwaju Tinubu for Presidency. For me and many other men and women he raised, the least sacrifice we can make is to let the whole country see the Leadership we have seen, feel the compassion we have felt; and move the maker of modern Lagos to the moulder of a greater Nigeria.”

A north-based group, Incoming President Support Organisation (IPSO), has declared total support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards his presidential ambition in 2023.

IPSO, which has 100 percent membership from the ruling APC, has also been canvassing support for power shift to the south.

Highlighting the justification for their support for Tinubu, the national coordinator of the group, Alh. Tajo Mohammad Nagoda, explained that Tinubu has built the network of national integration and cohesion that truly exemplifies him as the unifying factor in Nigeria’s politics.

The group assured Nigerians that Tinubu, who it described as the architect of the modern mega city called Lagos, will develop Nigeria if he wins the presidency.

Nagode said their support for Tinubu is because of his leadership qualities, adding that the support essentially coming from the north has become necessary in order to reciprocate the support and contributions the former Lagos governor made for Muhammadu Buhari to become president in 2015 and 2019.

The IPSO National Coordinator, who inaugurated the North Western States executives of the group in Kano, expressed the group’s readiness to lead campaign and mobilise massive support for Tinubu to ensure he clinches the APC presidential ticket.

He also assured of over 10 million votes from the Northwest at the general polls if their favourite candidate (Tinubu) wins the primaries.

“IPSO’s agenda, under the founder Chief Murtala Tela Awolola, is to deliver an APC presidential candidate to Nigeria in 2023 and Tinubu remains the only tested candidate in the south who can be entrusted with the country’s leadership responsibilities,” he said.

The group also suggested that the APC should pick Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state as Tinubu’s running mate for the 2023 presidential poll.

On the report that 9 protesters were killed during the protest at the Lekki Toll Gate, the government described the claim as baffling, saying that apart from listing out their names in that form on pages 297-298, the JPI offered no explanation regarding circumstances of their death. It said that the names simply sprang up at, 297-298 of the report without any justification.

The statement read in part: “It is quite astonishing that in the list of eleven (11) deaths set on pages 297-298, two (2) of the names appeared twice (Kolade Salam, Folorunsho Olabisi as Nos. 37 and 38). Furthermore, the person ben, as No. 46 Nathaniel Solomon who testified as a witness and petit the JPI in respect of his brother who he alleged died at LTC, himself listed as having died at LTG on 20th October 2020, Remarkably, Nathaniel Solomon’s deceased brother (Abuta Solomon, was then also listed: as‘No.2 on the list of persons who died at LTG. The only victim of gunshot injury from LTG was picked up at 7:43, on 21* October 2020 after the curfew commenced (see page 99 Furthermore, there was no shred of evidence regarding who shot him.

Another substantial inconsistency in the JPI Report was the award of compensation to only one (1) out of the alleged nine (9), listed as “deceased” which showed that the JPI itself had doubts as to the death of eight ( other allegedly deceased persons on its list. See page 304 of the JPI Report.”

The government also picked a hole in the justification for the award of one Serah Ibrahim, saying that she was neither a Petitioner nor a Claimant before the JPI.

The award-winning campus journalist and the author of: “101 Fake News on EndSARS,” Dahiru M. Lawal, among other Nigerians have exposed what they regard as inconsistencies in a report submitted by Justice Doris Okowubi, Chairperson of Judicial Panel of Inquiry that probed allegations of brutality against EndSARS protesters in Lagos State.

The document by the panel was submitted barely a month after the book on EndSARS was presented in Abuja.

The book: “101 Fake News on #EndSARS,” identifies major fake news items that contributed to the massive destructions after the peaceful #EndSARS movement turned to violent protests nationwide in 2020.

After receiving the report on Monday, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, set up a four-member White Paper committee, vowing to ensure justice is done to all concerned.



Speaking to PRNigeria, following the controversy, Lawal said he had examined the over 300-page report where he identified a number of claims that raise more questions than answers.



He said: “A large portion of what the panel relied on to pronounce their findings were based on accounts for protesters, the same set of people who peddled the misinformation and fake news that sabotaged the EndSARS movement.

“So how reliable can these accounts be?

“Also, Justice Okowubi said the Panel considered 186 petitions out of the 252 it received.

“What happened to the remaining 66 and on what basis were they filtered out and how much can we rely on the procedure that filtered what was considered and what was not?”

Lawal also expressed his shock over some names in the report that were allegedly listed as victims of the “Lekki Massacre”.

He said: “For instance, Page 168 and 185 of the report identifies Kolade Salami (Johnson) as a victim of the Lekki Tollgate incident when in fact media reports in April 2019 identified the same Kolade as a victim killed by men suspected to be from police special anti-cultism unit when he was watching a football match in a neighbourhood viewing centre.

“At the time, Lagos police spokesperson, Bala Elkana, issued a statement at about 6:40pm of the following Monday, announcing the arrest of members of the squad who perpetrated the act.

“Another name, Nathaniel Solomon, who appeared at the resumed hearing of the panel on 30th January, 2021, which was also reported, claiming that his brother who died at the Lekki incident had since been buried in Mubi, Adamawa State.

“The same name Nathaniel Solomon also appeared among the deceased in the report.

“Similarly, a certain Folorunsho Olabisi, who was mentioned on page 185 as a victim had earlier been denied by St. Nicholas Hospital Lagos.”

However, reactions have continued to trail the report from various quarters with some describing it as riddled with concoctions and fallacies.

A social media influencer, Adejare Ibrahim, described the report of the EndSARS Panel as fallacies and inconsistent.

Posting on Facebook, Ibrahim said the Lagos State Panel of Inquiry did a great disservice to many Nigerians.

He said: “The report is a pure distortion of glaring facts and cannot, in the face of in-depth probe and sophisticated analysis, stand the test of time.. The report is fraught with discrepancies, irregularities and fallacious stances, which further substantiates the claim of some Nigerians that no one truly died in Lekki Tollgate.”

Citing some of the examples of Kolade Johnson, Nathaniel Solomon, Florunso Olabisi among others, he said: “Amidst the spread of fake news by EndSARS protagonists and supporters that one Folorunso Olabisi was shot by the Army and his corpse deposited at St. Nicholas Hospital, VI, Lagos. The Management of the Hospital later debunked the malicious claims that they did not receive any corpse in their hospital. Till date, no one has countered the claim of St. Nicholas Hospital. The fact remains that the purported death of Folorunso Olabisi remains a myth. How the name later crept to the Okuwobi Panel Report is surprising.”

While mentioning the names of Jide, Tola and Wisdom, Ibrahim simply wrote: “Sincerely, this is hilarious and laughable. I don’t want to believe that a retired Justice of the Lagos High Court approved this below-the-belt report for public consumption. For God’s sake, what is the meaning of this? Who is Jide, Tola, Wisdom without surnames, descriptions, nothing! This is disgraceful!

“Kenechukwu Ugoh: His identity could not be traced on social media. The only person, whose name is close to this, is not active on social. I went through the profiles of some of his family and friends. None of them said anything about him being dead. The Panel should tell us how they came about his name.

“Olalekan Abideen Ashafa: There’s no one bearing this name on social. How he does not have a social media address or anyone declaring him dead is amazing.

“Olamilekan Ajasa: There are some people bearing this name on Facebook. Some of them are active and alive. There is nothing pointing to the fact that they are dead.

“These are the people Justice Okuwobi Panel wants us to believe died in Lekki, whereas there is no iota fact substantiating these claims. The Panel should have understood that that Nigerians are critical thinkers, who will not accept everything thrown at them hook, line and sinker. They will always probe the veracity of anything you tell them. Nigerians are greatly brilliant.

“Till date, none of their family members has shown up. Is the panel telling us they have no family members in Nigeria. After all, the family members of the Ikoyi Collapsed Building victims, within hours, quickly showed up after the sad incident. Why have the family members of the phantom Lekki victims not shown up after a year? Are they still afraid?

“The truth of the matter is that the Nigerian Army, represented by Major General Ibrahim Taiwo, had spoken the pure truth on the day of presentation at the Panel. The presentation was evidence-based and devoid of empty emotions. The Army, as a public institution, deserves some respect from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Their report has brought the truth to bare. Many of us, as well, have presented the truth in its plainest form. Our reports deserve to be looked into, not the report of those who have proven not to be neutral right from the inception of the report.

“In conclusion, I implore Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to think deep and ponder on this report before accepting it as a fact. The report is in no way different from all the junks reported by CNN, some Nigerian newspapers and their social media acolytes. It is full of irregularities, discrepancies and fictions. It will be a great disservice to many Nigerians if the report is in anyway considered.

“The Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN), should thoroughly go through the report before raising any White Paper as ordered by the Governor. Those who killed and maimed our security operatives and innocent citizens and destroyed public and private property deserve to be punished, not compensated for their criminal acts.”

Okuwobi has said that it considered 186 petitions out of the 252 it received in coming up with its report.

The national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Victor Oye, has revealed that a former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, vowed never to leave the party till death do them part.

However, Obi, who emerged as the governor of the state in 2006 and spent two terms in office, later defected to the Peoples Democratic Party in 2014. He became the Vice-Presidential candidate for the PDP in the 2019 general election.

Speaking about the defection and how APGA was able to win the Anambra election on Arise TV, Oye noted that Obi has not achieved anything politically since he defected because of the covenant he made with the party.

Oye stated that for Obi to achieve anything politically, he will have to return to APGA.

He said, “Remember that Peter Obi was in APGA and when he was with APGA, he performed superlatively well. The moment he left APGA, the APGA spirit left him. He has never achieved anything politically ever since. If he wants to achieve anything politically, he should come back to APGA; then, we will now re-ignite the APGA spirit in him.

“That is how it is done. Let me tell you, let him continue to jump from pillar to post, he cannot achieve anything because APGA gave him a platform and he took a vow that he will never leave APGA until death does them part. Now he left APGA; what do you expect would happen when you take a vow? A vow is a covenant and you must keep it. That is what is happening here.”

He said, “I did not mean a cult orientation when I said that Peter Obi vowed never to leave APGA till death do them part. What I said was an open thing and there is a video to that effect. For me, I believe in covenant. He made a covenant with God and not with APGA; is APGA God? He said he will never leave APGA until death does them part. That was what he said, it is open, I have the video.

An election audit prompted by the Republican-controlled Arizona state Senate appears to confirm President Biden won Maricopa County, Ariz., during the 2020 presidential election, several news outlets reported.

An official report by Cyber Ninjas, the contractor who was hired for the audit, is slated to be given to the state Senate at 1 p.m. on Friday, however, several news outlets obtained versions of the draft.

The Arizona Republic reported that versions of the draft it obtained showed that the hand count by Cyber Ninjas actually shows former President Trump losing the largest Arizona county by a slightly wider margin than the certified count. The certified vote count by Maricopa County found that Trump lost by 45,109 votes, however, the Cyber Ninjas audit found Biden won by 45,469 votes.

A copy of the document that Maricopa County had been given was given to The Republic by Tom Liddy, litigation bureau chief at Maricopa County. Because Maricopa County did not receive it from the state Senate, he could not verify if it was from Cyber Ninjas, however, an elections consultant who had a copy of the report verified that the document indicated the same findings the consultant had.

The results were not conclusive, according to The Republic’s draft report, but that might be because the final report has not yet been presented to the Arizona legislature.

In a statement issued through the Maricopa County Twitter page, Maricopa County Board Chairman Jack Sellers said of the draft Senate audit report, “This means the tabulation equipment counted the ballots as they were designed to do, and the results reflect the will of the voters. That should be the end of the story. Everything else is just noise."
