Donald Trump’s longtime accounting firm abruptly cut ties with his family business last week amid ongoing criminal and civil investigations into whether Mr. Trump illegally inflated the value of his assets,” the New York Times reports.

“The accounting firm notified the company of its decision and disclosed that it could no longer stand behind annual financial statements it prepared… The letter instructed the Trump Organization to essentially retract the documents, known as statements of financial condition, from 2011 to 2020.”

Daily Beast: “The bombshell move by Mazars USA was revealed in court filings in New York on Monday.”

PoliticsAbaribe: Sit-At Home Has Chased Businessmen Away From Southeast by Vixlot(op): 9:48pm On Feb 05, 2022
ENUGU – The Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe on Saturday expresses worry over insecurity challenges in South East describing it as a tragedy.

Senator Abaribe who stated this in Enugu on Saturday while Speaking during the investiture of the 16th President of Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture(ECCIMA), Barr. Jasper Nduagwuike on Saturday called on Ndigbo to concentrate on making the Southeast as the economic hub of Nigeria irrespective of the outcome of their 2023 presidential quest.

He also lamented the negative effect of Mondays’ sit-at-home on the economy of the region, saying rather than achieve anything good, the exercise had ended up driving businessmen away from the region.

He urged the businessmen, industrialists and all stakeholders in the Southeast to emulate the people of Bavaria in Germany and Catalonia in Spain for jettisoning everything about ruling the countries but concentrated on making their regions economic hub of their countries.

“We want to turn the Southeast into the Catalonia of Spain, the biggest industrial area in that country. It doesn’t matter that they are seeking their own self-sufficiency.

“They still become the industrial hub of that place so that at the end, even if you are going anywhere, you are going to become a viable country.

“If you destroy your place, where are you going to be when everything is destroyed.

“We want to turn the Southeast into the Bavaria of Nigeria. Bavaria is the industrial hub of Germany today. No Bavarian has been made president of Germany because they are the people that are holding the economy.

“I want to task each and every one of us especially the chamber of commerce that our job is cut out for us,” he said

Senator Abaribe stressed the need to make Southeast to become more attractive to businesses, adding that giving into Mondays’sit-at-home could succeed in destroying the economy of the region.

According to him “What we need in the southeast is to turn the zone to a place that attracts people not the place that people are running away from. We cannot grow as a region if we don’t work 24 hours daily to uplift our standard of living”

He said that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, told him while in detention that he neither ordered nor knew about the Monday sit-at-home which has continued to be observed in the Southeast.

“It is unfortunate that businesses were now relocating to other regions as a result of insecurity in the region.

“What is happening in Southeast is a tragedy. Every Monday people sit at home in what they call ‘Holy Monday’. What is holy in making people suffer like this?

“IPOB has said countless times that they are not the ones enforcing the order. We don’t know who is enforcing it neither does it seem like we have a way to solve it.

“I went with Ike Ekweremadu and two Bishops to the DSS to see Nnamdi Kanu and he told us ‘I have never said people should sit at home. I told him that nobody believes you outside. Because people have said they don’t like it but they keep sitting at home.

“There is no way we are going to survive like this. You are sitting at home and the people who you are doing these things for are in Lagos and in Abuja and everywhere and they don’t care. And you are here killing your own.

“Aba is known for bringing and opening containers of imported goods on Mondays. So, the problem we’re having today is that because of the sit-at-home, people now go to Port Harcourt, Uyo and Calabar to open their containers. They’re leaving Southeast and moving out to Lagos. When we all leave, who will you blame? The captains of industries are no longer there,” he said

Senator Abaribe who lamented that the insecurity of the Southeast had assumed the biggest problem of the region said Insecurity in Southeast is the biggest problem we are facing now. And the sooner we tackle it the better for us.

“Even if you are seeking a separate country, why would you destroy your own place with your hands? You need to have a viable country and not a scattered one”

In his address, Jasper Nduagwuike expresses his commitment to work in the repositioning of the chamber.

He added that his administration will ensure the construction of a befitting Trade Fair Complex in Enugu.

“Since every effort to get the Federal Government to build the complex seemed to have failed, the chamber under my leadership will take up the construction of the complex,” he said

Nigerians should be weary of this Yoruba propaganda

Is the given right of governors and presidents to anoint someone they wished to continue from their legacies

And that’s what Udom ugwuanyi and others are doing .. even Buhari..

.. is left for the political party and the people to decide their choice.

But Yoruba trying to equate this with Tinubu is a clever deceit ..

Tinubu is The Godfather o Yoruba politics and god of Yoruba people ..

No governor in Yoruba land has ever chosen his successor .. Tinubu appoint his cronies .. from governor to ward chairman to agbero for each park, market women and markets ..

This man controls all aspects of Yoruba live and their region

2019 presidential election. PDP total votes in southern region;

SS - 2.2 m
SW - 1.7m
SE - 1.6m

For a south east region with 5 states & four controlled by PDP Governors, 1.6million votes for PDP is unacceptable!

PoliticsPDP: Wike, Ayu In Cold War by Vixlot(op): 5:53pm On Jan 30, 2022
AMIDST public suspense over the zoning of the 2023 presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a cold war is brewing between the national chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu and Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, over issues relating to the plans by the new party leadership to run an all-inclusive administration by reconnecting with estranged leaders of the party.

Sources informed the Sunday Tribune that some stakeholders have, however, advised the governor to tread with caution, warning that his action, which was to protect his own enlightened self-interest, could cause a fresh crisis in the party.

The sources said one of the issues responsible for the crisis of confidence between the duo was the recent visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his Abeokuta, Ogun State, residence by the PDP national chairman with some former governors, which sources said, angered the Rivers governor.

The governor had reportedly expressed reservation on the plan by Ayu to lead a delegation to Obasanjo, ostensibly to woo back the exPDP leader on the grounds of political differences with the former president.

After the visit, the governor was reportedly not taken aback by Obasanjo’s open declaration that he had left partisan politics.

Said one of the sources, “when Ayu disregarded Wike and went to Abeokuta, Ogun State but came back with a message that Obasanjo said he would never return to partisan politics, the governor said he was not surprised. He reportedly said the party was beginning to align with some forces that will be counterproductive to his vision of the PDP. So, a crisis of confidence is already brewing between Wike and Ayu.”

Another point of disagreements between them was said to be the attendance at the penultimate Friday rally organised by the PDP to receive defectors from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.

Governor, believed to be nurturing a presidential ambition, was reportedly not comfortable that some ‘old’ PDP leaders were assembled by Ayu for the declaration apparently to take a commanding position in the scheme of things.

Some former ministers, governors and other high profile politicians of the party graced the reception for the leader of the Lagos4Lagos group to the PDP recently.

“Secondly, Wike is not happy that when Ayu came to the Lagos4Lagos event in Lagos, he came with some former ministers and ex-governors, among them, Alhaji Sule Lamido, Senator Liyel Imoke, ex-Governor Donald Duke, Kabiru Turaki and Dr Olusegun Mimiko.

“He believed Ayu is reawakening the old PDP and surrounding himself with old PDP elements. He complained bitterly,” the source alleged.

Though there were reports, at the weekend, that the governor may have set up a crack team to defend his interest in the light of the emerging power equation in the PDP, the team’s membership could not be established at press time.

“Wike has brought together some people and briefed them on how to tackle Ayu,” the source stated, adding that the fear in the camp of the governor is that Ayu’s attempt at reuniting influential members of the party ahead of coming elections would weaken his influence, especially given that some of the old PDP stalwarts were perceived as part of the problems of the former ruling party.

Wike wielded great influence in the process that threw up PDP national leadership in the past, including the immediate national executive under the chairmanship of Prince Uche Secondus. Some concerned PDP leaders were said to have waded in, describing the development as unhealthy for the party and the governor.

“The people advised Wike to steer clear of starting any crisis with Ayu because people might perceive him as a troublemaker and too domineering

CrimeTwin Brothers Allegedly Defile 10-year-old Girl In Anambra by Vixlot(op): 4:17pm On Jan 30, 2022
A 10-year-old girl was allegedly defiled by 16-year-old twin brothers in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government of Anambra.

The Executive Director of Davina Care Foundation, Mrs Rachel Yohanna, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday, in Awka that the case was brought to the foundation by the mother of the victim, Mrs Benedict Sunday, a nurse.

NAN learnt that the suspects were children of the caretaker of the house where the victim lived and had been continually harassed for her refusal to be defiled a second time.

Yohanna said the alleged crime was reported at Abagana Police Station on January 16, and the suspects and their mother, Mrs Chinwe Okpe, were arrested.

She said the girl was taken to Ntasi Centre for Sexual-Assault Cases at Enugu-Ukwu General Hospital, where it was confirmed that she was defiled, following perennial tears (the area between the vagina and the anus).

She also said that the victim, accompanied by a police officer and an aunt to the suspects, went for a second test at the police clinic when the mother of the suspects said the medical result from Ntasi centre was forged.

According to Yohanna, the result still came out positive.

PoliticsAyokunle Preaches Religious Harmony As Muslim Donates Building To CAN by Vixlot(op): 3:53pm On Jan 21, 2022
President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Olasupo Ayokunle has called on Nigerians to embrace religious harmony and live in peace.

Ayokunle said this at the inauguration of a secretariat built for CAN in the Irewole local government area of Osun by the Balogun Musulumi of Ikire, Bola Oyebamiji.

The CAN president, who expressed delight that Oyebamiji, a Muslim, who currently serves as Osun state Commissioner for Finance, has taught every member of the society a lesson in religious tolerance, also stressed that Nigerians should show love to people of other faiths.

He said, “Bola Oyebamiji is someone my family has been very close to for the past 20 years and he has always been like this. He is a very good and tolerant man to everybody no matter your religion. I have always known him to be a partaker in the work of God be it in the church or mosque.

“I must say this is laudable. This is what we have been preaching, a harmonious relationship between all religions. It is exactly what God wants

This is the only way we can achieve true peace in our nation. It is nice to know that the sponsor of this project for CAN Irewole is a devout Muslim, this gladdens my heart so much.”

Oyebamiji, while speaking in a statement signed by his side, Kingsley Omoyeni obtained in Osogbo on Friday, said he embarked on the project because of his belief in service to humanity.

Foreign AffairsHundreds Of Trump Voters Are Dying Every Day by Vixlot(op): 4:09pm On Jan 15, 2022
Donald McNeil Jr.: “As of this week, about 1,800 Americans a day are dying of Covid; the C.D.C. expects that number to rise above 2,600.”

“Virtually all are adults. If 95 percent were unvaccinated and we assume that 75 percent of those were Trump supporters, that’s 1,300 to 1,900 of his voters being subtracted from the rolls every single day.“

“Donald Trump lost Arizona by a mere 10,000 votes. He lost Georgia by 12,000, He lost Wisconsin by 21,000. He lost Nevada by 33,000.”

“Right now, about 60 Arizonans, 36 Georgians, 34 Wisconsinites and 14 Nevadans are dying of Covid each day. Seventy five percent of 95 percent of that would be minus 103 Trump voters per day — just in those four swing states. Week after week. That adds up.”

2023 Presidency: We won’t support political parties with northern candidates – Southern, Middle Belt leaders

The Southern and Middle Belt Leaders’ Forum on Thursday met in Abuja and declared that political parties that field northern presidential candidates won’t enjoy their support in the 2023 general elections.

Those at the meeting include delegations from the four regional socio-cultural organisations: Afenifere (South West), Ohanaeze Ndigbo (South-East), Pan Niger Delta Forum (South-South) and the Middle Belt Forum (Middle Belt).

The leaders include Chief Ayo Adebanjo (Afenifere), Prof George Obiozor (Ohanaeze) Dr. Pogu Bitrus (Middle Belt Forum) and Chief Edwin Clark (PANDEF).

In a communique issued at the end of the meeting and signed by the leaders, they agreed on the country’s indissolubility and the need for restructuring. They also maintained that power must shift to the Southern region after the eight-year regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), in May 2023.

The communique partly read, “Arising therefrom, the meeting resolved as follows:

“That the extant Constitution and Structure of Nigeria are grossly flawed and lopsided, accordingly, Forum restates its demand for the fundamental restructuring of the country by enacting a new Constitution that would enthrone equity, fairness and justice.It must be One Nation, One System;

“Cites that the northern part of the country would have fully enjoyed the Office of the Presidency of the country for the full statutory period of 8 years by 2023, hence, the presidency should rotate to the South;

Therefore, unequivocally, and in full resolve, call on all political parties in the country to zone their presidential tickets to the south;

“Advices that any political party that does not zone its presidential ticket to the South should not expect support from the four regions;
