Politics › Re: FG To Work With Illegal Oil Refiners – Osinbajo by Vladdo: 8:40am On Feb 15, 2017 |
Given the circumstances, I think this is long overdue. Standard modular refineries would indeed go a long way in addressing a significant number of issues in the industry. |

Politics › Re: OPINION: 10 Reasons Why I Wanted To Support The Civil Protest Of Feb 6th 2017 by Vladdo: 11:11am On Feb 02, 2017*. Modified: 12:18pm On Feb 02, 2017 |
AFTER THE PROTEST, THEN WHAT ??
@the onset, the same "Bubu" tried to set the stage and pace of events. He volunteered cuts to his personal income, same went for the man next to him, given the circumstances.. what did the guys in the legislative arm do to encourage these dance steps? He submitted to work with only 17/18 cabinet ministers to cut costs and run a lean and efficient structure, we shouted! Personally, our protests should be to address issues such as scaling down the National assembly budget, making it a part-time thing, and possibly knocking off one of them completely. The system as practiced now is quite expensive and unfortunately, we lack the resources to continue with the soured jamboree. If the issues are not appropriately articulated, then am afraid, we still have a long way to go, protests upon protests, regardless! |
Politics › Re: Why 2baba And His Cronies Are The Problem With Nigeria by Vladdo: 10:35am On Feb 02, 2017 |
Derawiz: This OP is a big fool.I'm not sorry for my usage of words cos that's what an igmoramus deserve. It is a protest by Nigerians and not tuface's protest, why are you striving hard to play the divide and conquer tactics of your colonial masters by dividing aggrieved Nigerians willing to protest on lines of ethnicity? The sooner you realiZe that it's a protest by Nigerians, the better it would be for your commiserable existence. If you don't want to protest, if you feel you have better things to do, do it but don't discourage people who are in need of a better life Now, sincerely, if this is an example of the youth clamouring to take the reins of power from the old folks, I'd rather the old folks continue. No objectivity, no reasonable submission. The Op raised valid questions and all you could do was resort to insults. In Femi's voice, #ISorryForNigeria |
Celebrities › Re: Lecturer, Dare Arowolo Blasts 2face Over Protest: You Benefited From Kleptocracy by Vladdo: 10:37pm On Jan 31, 2017 |
Nigerian youth: blind rats being led by older blind rats; no objectivity, no sense! It's always the least intelligent that are quick to turn to insults simply because it's beyond them to make civil and valid submissions. Mr Dare's submission was spot on! Tuface is charismatic and talented,of course, but benefitting from the same establishment he is turning against now makes him not qualified to be ranked comparatively with the likes of Robert Nesta Markey & Fela Anikulapo Kuti. While Tu 'romanced' with the establishment, Bob & Fela never did. Now, how is that so difficult to reckon, sire? |

Politics › Re: Is Africa Being Sabotaged? Research Says Yes by Vladdo: 11:00pm On Jan 08, 2017 |
WELL SAID!! omohayek: What does his South Korean citizenship (which I already knew) have to do with anything? He's at Cambridge, which is a western university.
As for our lecture about South Korean history, I know it far better than you do, and I also know many South Koreans (and Japanese, and Russians for that matter), so when I say Ha Joon Chang is spouting leftist nonsense, I'm not doing so out of ignorance of either history or the man's economic theories. If you ever bother to read the man's books (e.g. his "23 Things They Don't Tell You About Capitalism" ) you'd see for yourself that the man is one of those "progressive" anti-capitalist types.
Finally, if you actually knew some economics, you'd know that appeals to "commonsense" have zero credibility in the subject. Is comparative advantage or marginal utility "common sense"? Is general equilibrium "common sense"?
The major problem holding Africans back isn't a shortage of foreign aid or goodwill from the rich world: in fact, the westerners would like nothing better than that our economies start growing, so that fewer of us will want to migrate to their countries! No, what holds Africa back is its mostly worthless leaders, who in turn get to the top because too many Africans care more about tribal supremacy and getting "their turn" to loot the public purse, rather than about effective government. When was the last time politicians anywhere in Africa have been challenged on how they plan to finance the grand promises they make during campaigning? |

Pockets of hit and run attacks should not be unexpected - guerrilla style. Efforts of those tasked with security operations can never be appreciated enough. However, at this point, more than ever before, stakeholders need to be more on their toes, by way of Intel - mil & civ |
