A #Revolution is coming!! Whether we see/like it or not.. Personally, I love that Nnamdi guy's courage, however questionable his methods/ motives may be. I am sure his continued heat makes a lot of folks think along these lines. Were it not for the ethnic front, Nnamdi's support would have easily and overwhelmingly spread across board like the Arab Spring. Sentiments apart, besides the fact that the SouthEast is yet to produce the number one man at the helm (in recent history), the (everyday) people (in the SE) suffer the same fate as (everyday) people in other parts of Nigeria. The catch here is simply lack of accountability and transparency. And this is seen among those ruling and those being ruled alike. We must realise that Corruption transcends ethnic or religious affiliations. It is however unfortunate that we have a situation where a paltry ten percent controls ninety percent of what happens in our society. Now, the deal is/will be, to get this ten percent and use them as scapegoats one way or another. Even if my own father, uncle, relative, or myself happen to be among this group, deal with them/us decisively to serve as a deterrent to the next crop of leaders. When the WILL is there, anything is achievable. The "one Nigeria" we have carried on our heads SHOULD NOT and CANNOT continue this way! We must secure the future of our children unborn even if ours has been rigged already.. As far as Nigeria is concerned, that so desired "change" through the ballot may only remain a wet dream. Remember, as Ernesto "Che" Guevara once said, "The Revolution is not an APPLE that falls when it is ripe. You have to MAKE IT FALL." |
But isn't it the same Idomas that claim the Tivs are marginalising them (and cry for Akpa state) that turn around to mete same treatment on the Igedes? ..just asking ni. |
iDashNaira:Whoever is behind that moniker (IDashNaira), or from whichever source these ideas are coming from, YOU ARE A BLESSING TO YOUR GENERATION AND YOUR GENERATIONS YET UNBORN! You exude so much greatness that it's difficult to contain it. That is the Nigerian spirit... GREEN WHITE GREEN flying! |
What does it take to register a youth party in Nigeria? I am talking about a 'youth-centric' party and not youth wings as appendages to the old gangs' political structures. Beyond the cancelled Innocent '2baba' Idibia led protests, one would have expected a better approach like registering an entirely youth oriented political party. With the support already galvanized toward the protests, it would have made a lot of sense to channel such energies into a more institutionalised platform of leadership and influence. With the sheer numerical strength of the youth in this country, a formidable party with a great force of momentum would have been born, with great opportunities for us to assert our interests onto the national political agenda. It is worthy to mention, and emulate, the increasing youth participation in politics in East Asia; South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Following the decline in trust and growing vulnerability in their respective governments, the youth began to redefine the political and economic landscape. The Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong, in 2014, the SEALDs(Students Emergency Action for Liberal Democracy) in Japan, in 2015, and the stunning victory of the Minjoo party over the Saenuri party in the South Korean legislative elections of 2016, all of which were orchestrated by the youth. There ought to be a moral awakening to the fact that these old gangs are eating and punching holes into our future and endangering democracy. It is not too late to act. The future is now! |
Leonbonapart:...Indeed, RELIGION IS OPIUM! Islam, Christianity and the rest were all created by humans, bro! Look beyond all these and let the LOVE FOR HUMANITY lead you. #BeFree #BeEnlightened. Peace! |
Leonbonapart:...Mr Rich & Wealthy, so YOUR christianity really teaches you to brand others whose beliefs differ from yours as "animals"? Hmmm, how barbaric!! So much for being "a christian". Smh.. |
giftft:You see, isn't it funny that Mr Peter Okoye is only ranting now because it affects him directly. History is replete with cases where the arts have been employed as a tool for change - the memories of the Bob Marleys and the Felas come to mind. I can hardly recall a tune made good by all these crop of Nigerian artistes addressing our current political quagmire. Save for just a few, and I AM NOT SURE, if Peter is among those. You see, for some reason, if you only sing about female body parts and love peddling because that is where your 'ministry' (market) is, then you are only a part of the problem. You are as good as the politician who's "Nash" you claim to cover, because you are all out to fill your stomachs through "any which way", socially legit or otherwise. Promoting immoral behaviour and promiscuity as well as corrupt practices all have a common denominator, which is moral decadence. If you employ that talent in lesson-based songs, addressing social issues, you'd be doing your bit in developing societal conscience in the long run, meaning you would have addressed a significant part of the issues you are ranting about and those rants would have been needless. Trust me! |
john4reala:.. yes he is a COURSE. Medicine or Law.. smh |
..ok, we don hear! Perhaps that same "divine intervention" that made Samuel Ortom governor of Benue State. |
TheCabal:SOUTH SUDAN IS ON THE AXIS OF NORTHEASTERN AFRICA, AND NOT WEST AFRICA. |
hakanai:Quite reasonable points! Well, given the context, wouldn't it be more ideal to refer to these people as 'assets', rather than agents? Just asking.. |
It has been reported that there is an ongoing crisis around the Airport Village(between Seraph Oil Mills and Airport Market - opposite Nigerian Airforce Tactical Air Command) and environs, in Makurdi, Benue State. Reports have it that an argument between traders in the market culminated into a fight where ethnic sentiments came into play. Reportedly, some persons have sustained varying degrees of life threatening injuries while properties have been destroyed. Residents have been reported to have fled to a catholic church by the first Nigerian Air Force Checkpoint, near Ugbechi Filling Station, along Gboko road. There is no security presence in the area even as of the time of submitting this report. This is therefore, a call on the concerned authorities to act now to arrest the situation. If it is this tensed in the daytime, who knows what the situation might turn to by nightfall. |
mexxmoney:Agreeably, this is a faceless forum, but you don't say things you are not exactly sure of, son. You don't do that! |
topsquino:Then forget samples and test those interested straight off.. I don't understand the rationale behind adopting both. I think either (of them) should be sufficient. |
Benue State indeed boasts of a significant crop of resilient and brilliant gentlemen and ladies. From the academia to public service. Unfortunately, Benue's story is just another sorry one. The state has been most unfortunate in terms of leadership. From 1999 to date, the so called "leaders" have shown a lack of focus, no sense of direction and no committment. No continuity and hence no significant growth. From Akume to Suswam and now to Ortom. Everybody comes with the mindset to pocket as much as he can and leaves. Only posterity shall indeed judge these men and their descendants. The first civilian governor(late Aper Aku) remains the only positive point of reference out of that state who looked far and beyond. Bless his soul, even as his legacies live on. |
Nice one "Dogoro"! If only you'd push a bill for downward review of you and your fellow fat cat's benefits (allowances and all), I am sure the government would conveniently consider your advice. These politicians always think the masses are foolish. How hypocritical! |
Nathan308:..well, so long as "things" are valued and people are used, instead of the other way round, I'm afraid, but such is bound to continue. Welcome to the "new world", ma'am! |
IT BEATS IMAGINATION HOW A SANE MIND WILL EVER WISH DEATH ON ANOTHER.
EVERYONE WILL DIE SOMEDAY.. BEING YOU THE HOLIEST OR OTHERWISE.
SO, WHAT GIVES? |
saliubello:Kindly upload pictures.. |
blackpanda:WELL SAID! |
casaso:THE PERSON WHOSE PHONE NUMBER (09066474484) APPEARS ON THE DATA RESELLING ADVERT IS A SCAMMER AND AN OUTRIGHT THIEF. PATRONISE HIM AT YOUR PERIL. "CASASO" OR WHATEVER MONIKER YOU ADOPT NOW, FOR SCAMMING ME, YOU SHALL DIE AN UNTIMELY DEATH AND I WILL DANCE ON YOUR GRAVE. ITS NOT EVERYBODY YOU SCAM AND GO SCOT FREE. MARK MY WORDS!! |
yankeedodo:The challenge is distance. Wanted my little niece who's in the North Central (Benue) to do the business pending when she gets admission.. we could still talk though. |
id911:Choi, oga listen to yourself, mbok! Nigeria!! Smh.. |
Yea, nothing new/extraordinary there. You can actually graft two different species of mango on the same stem/trunk. Either to conserve space or for experimental purposes. Matter of fact, I have same in my compound producing "Kerosene" & " Julie" mangoes. Since its a normal practise to bud/graft before sales, its possible that at the point of purchase, the farmer/horticultural expert had grafted the two in one. Changes nothing sir! All to the benefit of the mango seedling buyer; go, plant and enjoy! |
Cooly100:Oga, personally, I dont think there's anything like permanently secured here. When was EFCC established? From that time till now, how many presidents have the south produced and why didn't they see it as an anomaly to be corrected. We cannot let mediocre politics divide us, and then divide ourselves further. |
The NASS had better focus on more productive matters. They arent paid to waste time and resources trivialising. As if it's by wearing uniforms.. smh! |
Is it still not obvious why there was to be a protest, one to be led byTuface? Scheming hard!! |
...seriously o! if such type(s) are not "disappeared" by government or well meaning and patriot citizens, one way or the other, then am afraid that we are still drinking liquor and dancing Skelewu @ "OUR OWN FUNERAL" |
kindly add: 07013588600. Thank you! |
saintgp:True, education is VITAL. However, its influence on our thoughts and actions is relative! Under the circumstances, we have professors, phD holders and other vast academics - in and out of positions of trust and authority, doing unthinkable poo! Its needless to categorise. But its important that an individual's ability - or lack thereof, be evaluated based on his personal 'self'; principles, disposition and all. If indeed certificates made people to think, act and be better, we know a lot of persons whose performance would have been stellar. Again, it is needless to categorise. #Peace |
But PeriComa cannot just die. Maybe he's just in Coma ;DBut PeriComa cannot just die. Maybe he's just in Coma |
... hayam nuh honda-standing o. I thought APC was a "Muslim party, set to Islamise Nigeria". It appears the masses are too blind to see through the schemes of the elite/ruling class - they divide us along ethnic and religious lines when it doesn't benefit them, or too indecisive to unite and take action.. smh. |
