TV/MoviesRe: DSTV : Stop Exploiting Nigerians! Implement "Pays As You Watch" by vodacom: 9:01am On Mar 17, 2015
Osisinakpo:
Have you heard of the DSTV boycott? What'd you think/say? Read on:

DSTV Enough Is Enough!! Fellow Nigerians, let's ALL boycott DSTV & GoTv services of MultiChoice Nig Ltd from April 1st 2015 for their planned & exploitative tariff increase which they want to FOIST on the over 2 million subscribers they have in Nigeria on April 1st 2015 (See front pg 9/3/15 Guardian newspaper). Enough is ENOUGH! Nigerians will no longer tolerate this! We will no longer tolerate the lack of Pay-as-you-Watch services they offer in South Africa & other countries but in Nigeria they keep our accounts running even when we travel & there is no-one at home to utilize the service even though they know these Countries have less subscribers/population than Nigeria. They must implement PAY-AS-U-WATCH in Nigeria on April 1st & lower tarifs, we insist on it, we are not April Fools! They must make that Pay-as-u-watch service EASY for Nigerians to access with no tricks or long queues to sign up for it. No more substandard decoders!! Their monopolostic exploitative tendencies must end in Nigeria! As the Arab Spring brought change of Govt in the Middle East, this "DSTV Spring" must bring change, better services & lower prices come April 1st 2015 if we all unite as one! PLEASE re-broadcast this to everyone on your WhatsApp, BBm & WeChat contact list, Tweet it, post it on your FB Status till our VOICE is heard & heeded to in their South African Head Office & this is done, Change Must Come! DSTV Enough is Enough!
Boycotting dstv makes them feel that are on top and you can't do without them. The government is to be blamed for this nonsense act perpetuated by multi choice. Mind you, the increase in price isn't exclusive to Nigeria market alone but the whole of Africa continent. Pay per view will not be possible and even if it's, it would have being better you subscribe for one full month because the charging rate will be very high. Secondly Nigerians should just abandon them and look for any other options of watching cable tv instead of boycotting dstv, even at the senate it didn't work talkless of this. We can't even watch some of our local tv for free any more because of bad government. Imagine me paying to watch NTA,AIT,Channels e.t.c whereas Multi tv Ghana allows Ghanians to watch local tv for free without pay a dime and they make their money from adverts. May God help us come June 21st because we are switching from analogue to digital by that time and wouldn't be viewing local tv with our normal antenna anymore, coupled with the fact that we will pay for watching them now.
PoliticsRe: A JEGA Must Go Protest Currently On Along Ikorodu Road Lagos by vodacom: 6:33pm On Mar 16, 2015
dhardline:
The Oodua Peoples Congress and the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation in Lagos on Monday morning led other protesters to storm the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, demanding the sacking of the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, before the March 28 elections.

The bus of the campaign group and the members of the OPC, who massed at the 7UP/Toll Gate end of the expressway, led the protesters, who were chanting anti-Jega songs, giving reasons why Jega should be sacked.

The OPC members carried guns, cutlasses, pocket knifes among other weapons, occupying one end of the busy highway while some members of the groups harassed some motorists and passers-by plying the road.

Some people, who were clad in black vest, said to be beneficiaries of the SURE-P, also constituted a sizable portion of the protesters.

Heavy traffic built up along the highway as the protesters, who were well protected by heavy police presence, took over one partof the road, grounding movement of other road users.

The protesters took time to distribute leaflets containing seven reasons why the INEC boss should be sacked.

The leaflet also contained what the OPC described as the achievements of President Goodluck Jonathan and why the President should be re-elected.

The protesters are said to beon their way to the National Stadium, Surulere, through the Ikorodu Road, where they will hold a rally.

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra on Friday protested in Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, among other locations in theSouth-East, calling for the immediate removal of Jega.

On Sunday, the All Progressives Congress alleged that it had uncovered a plot by its Peoples Democratic Party counterpart to fund ethnic militias to protest and demand Jega’s sacking.

It added that such ethnic militias included the OPC.

That you collected yours within 3days doesn't mean it is so everywhere in Naija. As a matter of fact, those SSANU and NASU staffs are not helping matters at all. If you follow due process, you might spend up to 6 months pursuing transcript that can be done within 2days. I appreciate the op for bringing this topic because it will go a long way to draw the attention of school authorities. I would appreciate if the names of those schools involved be mention here because who knows some of school's representative who aren't aware will draw the attention of management. That is the power of the media, it ought to be used to draw Government's attention to areas that they are needed and not bashing or carrying stories that doesn't add value to the society or common man. I am of the opinion that nairaland can play a major role if the moderators select topics that ought to be on front pages especially ones that can be debated thoroughly.

If you are given free mb or you had subscribed for any of their data ranging from N100 and above, you would be able to use your mtn on whatsapp. Whatsapp is a third party applicable and doesn't need bis to work with it same with opera mini and others. MTN also have whatsapp bundles ranging from N5/day to N60/month. From experience, airtel whatsapp bundle might not work on some bb phones except you have data available on it. Other service providers like etisalat data bundle works on bold 3 whatsapp.

While I agree that good morals are important, I still think that after paying hundreds of thousands of Naira as school fees for years, the University has no right to expel two adults for actions bothering on their private lives. That is a University and not a Seminary for crying out loud.
They have the right because the student signed an oath form which is binding on all. Secondly there are other private universities that allows one to behaves the way he or she wants to in Nigeria. if they are not comfortable with the rules, they can leave. I think the parents of those students have a reason for sending their kids there apart from the monetary aspect, because they must have being told about the rules regulating the school.

Nigerians need to be very vigilant for the truth is quite bitter !

Never stop your clamour for change,it is your democratic right for we deserve a better government than this !

Vote change ! Vote Buhari/Osinbajo ! Vote APC
Hmmmm I want change but propaganda from both parties get some electoral confused at times. If you say I should vote for APC, I can't sense any change because the same set of bad eggs from the ruling party are in the change party. So what is the change we are talking about? Yes the current president isn't meeting our expectations but he is the only good alternative available to some of us because the angel I know is better than the devil I don't know. Are there no other presidential aspirant contesting?

It seems the op only visit just one branch of living faith because living faith I know centre their message on faith moreover their members are not complaining. If you feel that they preach more of prosperity, you can switch to other churches that talk more of holiness afterall there are many fishes in the river. The problem with most christians is that they complain a lot. Take for example church A concentrate on holiness and purity, they criticised them for being too holy and archaic, church b talks about faith they say they are money concious, church c concentrate on deliverance yet same people complain of too much noise here and there. Church D does all, they complain that they are not assisting members financially. Church E decides to help they complain that they use members star to enrich themselves. In summary, no church is perfect and can never be including those preaching holinesss bla bla bla till Jesus come. We in the body of Christ should strife for holiness to please our maker.

Christianity EtcRe: Should Christians Mention Their Pastor's Name In Their Prayers? by vodacom: 10:51pm On Feb 21, 2015
princejenks:
I have been hearing about this practice in some pentecostal churches but it only hit home when I was invited by a friend to the crossover night service of a particular church far from where I
usually worship.

I was utterly discomforted when the man of God stepped to the altar
area to lead us in prayers for the new year and he kept mentioning the God of so and so pastor(he mentioned at least ten very popular
pentecostal pastors) before ending each prayer points with the name of
our lord Jesus Christ.

The reason for my discomfort was because of my strict Anglican
background where we were taught to pray only in the name of Jesus that is above every other name. Though I've attended a number of
pentecostal church services before this very one,but I've never
witnessed such a practice before; though I've been hearing about it.

A few people I discussed with on whether it was biblical to pray by
mentioning the name of their prophet, wooli or pastor's God,made
references to the bible where the God of Isaac, Jacob, Abram, Elijah, etc, were severally mentioned;saying it was okay to pray to the God of a true man of God who has performed great signs and wonders through his ministry.

Well, am still a bit confused here and would love contributions to the
topic. Please, feel free to drop your thoughts on this practice by some
churches.
You got it all wrong. why do we say "The God of Elijah,Elisha,Abraham e.t.c ", we are making reverence to God who performed wonders through them. That a Osa said God of my pastor is because he believed in his pastor and that is why his prayers was answered. That doesn't mean we should not believed in God because 2chr 20:20 speak for itself.

PhonesRe: What Network Has The Best Call Tariff As At Today? by vodacom: 12:03am On Feb 20, 2015
wetindey11:
Hi all, as at today, what network (mtn, glo, airtel & etisalat) can we really say hs d best call tariff: all things being equal?

Indicate your call package plan, migration code, other benefits in d plan, etc.
Another thing you didn't buttress are the numders you call frequently.
1. Do you call more of mtn than other networks?
2. If then, are you the type that talk for long or short? If long then mtn super saver is for you because your call rate is 40k/sec first min, from 2nd to 5th min, 15k/sec n 11k/sec from the 6th min to all networks. If short mtn smooth is idle
3. Do you live in area where there are least usuage on mtn or etisalat network at a given time? Then try mtn zone or etisalat talk zone where u call for as low as 1k/sec
4. Do you want a cheap and flat call rates, then airtel 2good priemer is ideal because your first min is 40k/sec n 2nd min 12k/sec to all networks.it is the cheapest compared to glo bounce and etisalat easy 4.0 @ 15k/sec
5. Do u call a group of numbers frequently, them mtn true talk is for u. Call 10 mtn nos or 8 mtn nos n 2 fro other networks @ 11k/sec n 26k/sec all networks.
6. Are u a student on campus that loves cheap calls and social chat, then airtel trybe is for u. Call at 11k/sec all networks from campus after first min @ 40k/sec. Free whatsapp, bbm, facebook n twitter after 2mins chargeable calls valid for 2days.
With all these plans, there is no need to buy bundle because some of them are regressive in nature.
Christianity EtcRe: Check Our Church Doctrine And Join Us by vodacom: 11:09pm On Feb 19, 2015
@ the word of God is our standard as christians back up with the leading of the holy spirit to guide us. Let me explain somethings to you.
1. The old and new laws or testament are relevant in our daily lifes and it takes the holy ghost to interpret them for us especially in this era where so many persons claim to know the bible very well.
2. Talking about holiness, it involves total commitment to God and that includes santifying yourself inwardly and outwardly at all times. Keepings God's commandment as stated in the bible. Some include paying your tithe, caring for the needy, evangelism, service to God( attending church activities at the right time and obeying church rules and regulations e.g switching off phone when sermon is going on or when one enters the church) e.t.c.
3. The gospel requires money whether we like or not and so we must endeavor to contribute our own quota no matter what we see going on in the world today especially were many preachers abuse privildges.
4. There is no perfect church or preacher in the world and that is why we see people breaking away to form one church or another thinking they are proclaiming the gospel whereas they are doing the opposite
5. Of what use is holiness when one live in total bondage without being delivered, of what use is holiness when one continues to live in abject poverty all the rest of his or her life whereas unbelievers keep on succedding in life. Of what use is holiness when a fellow christian will be blashing whom God as men of God whereas the bible gave an example of Mariam and Aaron blashing Moses for the wrong he committed and we know what happened later. This issue is making unbelievers scared of joining the christian races, of what use is holiness when there are no unity among the Christian faith instead different denomination comes up with different doctrines that are not even bibilical at all.
6. As for some Christian feast which you think are ungodly, you need to add celebration of new year day, Valentine's day, Independence day celebration or any celebration that doesn't glory God or are un bibilical at all if not that shouldn't be an issue at this point in time.

MTN is the only network that charges 20k/sec to Usa,Canada,India,Uk(l.l), and China from the very first second on any of their tariff plans.(MTN zone,MTN true talk, Supersaver e.t.c). Although other networks have have bundles that charges 10k/sec on bundle plan especially glo and airtel.
