Politics / Re: Umahi Gets Presidential Directive On Sokoto-Badagry Coastal Highway Design by Volksfuhrer(m): 3:46am On Apr 29 |
The Sokoto-Badagry expressway is not a new project. In fact, the construction of the road commenced in 1978 and then abandoned in 1979! I’m surprised at the utter ignorance of those suggesting the road is another new shady project. After all, same road was discussed in the Senate back in 2021! The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and The Sokoto-Badagry expressway are strategic roads and have been in the pipeline for years. You guys should be grateful you now have a President willing to make real the completion of these excellent projects. harvenghor:[quote author=MrEverest post=129687013] 52 Likes 10 Shares |

Politics / Re: Ekiti State To Start Electricity Distribution May 1st by Volksfuhrer(m): 11:01am On Apr 23 |
SoNature:Currently, we generate more power than we transmit or distribute: some Discos even refuse to distribute additional power generated! Therefore of what use is an additional million megawatts to the grid without an expanded distribution and transmission sector. A State Government attempting to close a part of this deficit is a welcome development. Perhaps, you prefer to have Ekiti State to go all out to generate and transmit and distribute its own power project. That would be fantastic but more costly. In any case, it will be better to start somewhere than do nothing because of lack funds to prosecute a greater power project. |

The scathing response to Atiku’s criticism was unnecessary, and even counterproductive. Onanuga could have done a better job on addressing some of the issues Atiku raised. 5 Likes |

In an extreme scenario, a truth serum could’ve sufficed, why beat them up like this na? Besides, can we rely on any evidence procured through torture. Men under torture can “confess” to anything, including crimes they didn’t commit! FSB officers no do well o. The faces of these suspects don reach Hell com back. Haba! |

blackboy: Your perspective is thought provoking. If it were true that some community chiefs had earlier been killed, it could also stand to reason that the soldiers (reacting to prevent an escalation) might truly have been on a peace mission and then tragically slaughtered! |

Kaycee9242: The best of macroeconomic policies takes some time (at least a year) to yield intended results. However the movement of some key macroeconomic variables can show us whether the policy will achieve its goal or not. For instance, if an economic policy effects rising External Reserve, it’s a good sign we are moving in the right direction. The Naira value will not go up unless you build a large External Reserve. I agree with you that the dollar rate is too high, but we need patience. And Tinubu needs our prayers! 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Restructuring: Nigeria Has Only Two Options—anyaoku by Volksfuhrer(m): 9:43am On Mar 19 |
For an African country, a Federal Government with 36 federating units is too big! 37 civil services will drain resources necessary for capital projects. No wonder recurrent expenditures perennially outstripped capital expenditures. How do you develop when much of government revenue is spent to maintain personnel and their office operations. Regionalism is the way forward. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Politics / Re: BREAKING: Security Agents Know Bandits’ Hideouts - Gumi by Volksfuhrer(m): 8:36am On Mar 19 |
According to Gumi, “bandits are just marginalised Nigerians, who don’t have access to education, good roads, water, and other social amenities.” What type of deranged argument is that? There are millions of law abiding citizens in the North living under same conditions who didn’t become bandits! The reward system espoused by Gumi and his likes is responsible for escalating chaos in the North. A lot is wrong about Sheikh Gumi’s moral compass. Why can’t Gumi (an Islamic cleric) be brave enough to tell these bandits to desist from banditry, that Allah forbids wrongdoing! 1 Like |
Politics / Re: IPOB Terrorists May Be Responsible For Killing Of Nigerian Soldiers In Delta by Volksfuhrer(m): 8:01am On Mar 19 |

Politics / Re: IPOB Terrorists May Be Responsible For Killing Of Nigerian Soldiers In Delta by Volksfuhrer(m): 6:58am On Mar 19 |
The soldiers were killed and their bodies defiled to provoke a desired response. Any group with a vested interest in the area could’ve done it. A proper investigation should be carried out before innocent lives are unnecessarily wasted. 1 Like |

budaatum: Aregbe was a great champion amongst Osun State Governors. You people have truly over-flogged the salary issue. Development of Osun State infrastructure for millions of Osun State Citizens came at a cost: yea, the belly of a few senior civil servants! But with the benefit of hindsight, and without sounding insensitive to these gallant civil savants, you should still be happy that the sacrifices weren’t in vain. Or are you not proud of the schools Aregbe built and the roads he constructed. The returns on these investments will continue to accrue for generations yet unborn! |
