Afam4eva:From Abuja northward afonja dominates any form of service rendering including servicing people's wives(bad), safe plataeu cos i have not been there. s/s as huge number of afonja bricklayers while s/e has few afonja bricklayers. infact portharcourt and warri has a lot of block industries owned by afonja. it will interest you to know i met 3 afonja tailors in nnewi. despite igbo dominance in export/import hardwood exportation is 80% controlled by afonjas. you will find a large number of afonjas who are drivers and roadside mechanics in most s/s region and few in the east |
check out tunde afolabi owner of Amni Petroleum bought the compny from sanni bello He was formerly the MD/CEO of the company but He now owns the company |
unfortunately their crude way of life, partying, womanizing and extended family life make it seems they dont live well/poor. i was speaking to an afonja driver in owerri he told he makes 10-12k per day!, only few graduates màkes that, talkless of lagos drivers. truth be told 80% of services being rendered in north is through an afonja. 99.9% in s/w |
@raker 300 mechanic, driving and other metal work is being dominated by afonja before the colonial master, Hausas came to trade for metal object in yoruba land. afonja believes any metal work is associated with ogun (their god of iron). they derive so much passion in it, this has shifted to generator repair. owerri is an example. |
@ raker 300 you are very correct when you mention wholesale cos igbos dominate the shipping business no afonja can argue/debate on that. Making use of those products in the form of services rendered is left for the afonja. e.g computer village who dominates the repair and servicing of gadgets - afonja, ladipo market - ask the traders(igbo) they will tell us afonja leads in service and repair. carpentry is left to them cos only s/s and s/w have the biggest wood market in Nigeria unfortunately s/s failed to develop their manpower |
in IT they dominate maybe you guys are discussing about wireless network and computers but IT is more than that. most local IT companies rendering communication services to glo, mtn, airtel, oil rigs/companies are owned by afonjas. 90% of mast built in Nigeria are built by afonja company. quote me anywhere |
igbos dominate in trading while afonja dominate in rendering of services e.g mechanics(due to their ogun deity), carpentry, drivers, barbing/hairdressing, bricklaying, architect, tailoring. They dominate west, north, s/s and part of s/e. I know this cos i travel around. This is my opinion i may be biased cos i like them. |
law, auditing and financial advisory , IT/communication
afonja dominate
am not an afonja! |
you want to start another e-war abi? your statement and state of mind is already tribal. Google this or ask from an educated person from south west. Pls let this rest. |
myplaydiary:You should have only thanked me without adding the other comments. Thank you for appreciating me Every tribe in Nigeria must find a way to protect itself in this forceful marriage called Nigeria |
Eastwalk:ibos are very good in trading kano and lagos being on the list is because of commerce and trade which is partly due to ibos present there because of their trading prowress. Trading enable money circulation |
business is business, ibos can do their business anywhere in nigeria since they are nigerians. The onus is on massob or related body to make sure ibos in diaspora enjoy the benefit of being nigerian just like afenifere and arewa are currently doing |
hornyofife:hornyoflife I am entitled to my opinion and you are entitled to yours. South east has tried apart from MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES we also have several industries, most companies in aba and onitsha are mostly under SME category apart from the recently completed sabmiller company and few others. Dangote cement and lafarge cement dwarfs about 15-20 companies you mentioned, NO OFFENSE, ibadan also has much of the SMEs. Ogun has 75% indigenisation policy which they thoroughly effected, out of the 75% few are owned by other tribes hausas, ibos and SS(particularly edo) other by yorubas. internet is your friend check it . I repeat yorubas are the leading indigenous industrialists in nigeria ibo 2nd SS 3RD. PLS TELL MY NOTHERN BROTHERS TO WAKE UP. ALSO TELL IMOLITES TO REALLY INVEST IN TOURISM INSTEAD OF HOTEL AND CLUBS I call on every nairalander who works in financial advisory BIG FOUR ( KPMG DELLOITTE PWC etc) to verify or rebuke my claims. This challenge will enable me learn more. pls no insult |
in my honest and neutral opinion anambra has more manufacturing industries than oyo state but the difference is not much. the rankings are: lagos/ogun ogun/lagos anambra portharcourt oyo i have stayed in 25 states. In the south east/west/south oyo has the biggest comercial farm followed by edo ibadan is a better city than awka or onitsha even portharcourt. life is far easier to live than other cities in the south you get what you can afford; feeding and transport is nothing unlike the east. kaduna and kano disappointed me alot, kano couldnt live up to her past glory. The guy posting industries from ibadan does not know ibadan well else he should have posted a lot. I cant blame him ibadan is large. travelling is part of education let people visit other regions apart from theirs about indigenous companies in NIGERIA i will give the yorubas the first followed by igbos who dominate the shipping/marine industry |

Pls am about to start the Project but mine is a mixture of cucumber and ugwu leaves. ishaqteejay I have these set of questions: 1. What is the size of the hose used in the drip irrigation. If I decide to ask in the market what type should I ask? 2. Can the mixture 2:1:3 also work for ugwu. Will also the fertigation work on ugwu? 3. Due to my schedule in school (MSc) can I leave the drip irrigation throughout the day even in the afternoon cos am considering that? I know I diverted to ugwu matter pls bear with me. |

dway4ward: denass16: CHM11:Electrical Engineers in the house, pls answer this question in order to explain the statements quoted above. In a parallel circuit, given different resistance values in each branch, which path would current love to flow the higher or lower resistant path? if resistance was slightly increased, does that mean current wont still flow? Having a nice car does not mean you will like to pass through a traffic jam but if you find yourself in such situation your car will comfortably pull through. one love ![]() |
Hope all other Ekiti candidates have traveled abroad for their masters or gotten a better job. I know of two who is currently out of the country for their masters; for me competition has been reduced. Good luck to the Imo, Ogun and Anambra peeps. |
dangote cement salary is not fixed it depends on the no of hours you worked. But the least amount for a university grad is 140k after tax. |
FGUN14:"OGA BABS' u sounded like an nlnger |
