Only clowns who haven't seen war jump, dance and call for it. War devours all: young, old, sick and healthy, innocent and guilty.

If a war kicks off in Nigeria, best be advised that there are no rules, no referees, no arbitrators. War is a zero-sum game. For one side to win, another must lose.

The territory with the easiest assets to plunder is the most exposed. If that territory has no leaders then they've already lost the war before a bullet has been fired.
Politics / Re: Fashola (666) - Lagos: The Unanswered Questions by VoodooDoll(m): 12:54am On Aug 08, 2012
Fashola and ACN are trying to build a South West fit for this century. It takes planning and it takes decisive actions.

Sometimes mistakes are made, but on the whole progressive leaps are made. PDP and the scoundrel known as OBJ did their worst to starve Lagos, plunder the SW as they're doing elsewhere and wreck noble institutions.

The broooom revolution has chased PDP out and I pray PDP stays out. PDP can stay active in the centre and other regions, that's up to the other regions.

The walls were built by the progenetors of Ijebu people. Period. cool

Let every proud Ijebu daughter and son stand tall and claim their heritage before some crazy foreigner with anti-black beliefs rewrites your history.

Nuff said. cool

It is the same way they claimed that the Great Zimbabwe could only have been built by whites, just as they also claimed that the Ife and Benin bronzes must have been cast by white skinned Egyptians. Utter crap! angry

Politics / Re: Okonjo-Iweala Named In UN Social Panel by VoodooDoll(m): 8:49pm On Aug 04, 2012
UN appointments are largely Govt sponsored.

Bearing in mind that Nigeria is not doing so well on her Millennium Development Goals, it is not unreasonable for the UN to have asked a laggard country like Nigeria to nominate a govt person to consider changes to these goals. Other nations appear to have nominated their Foreign Minister, may be their "prime ministers" or finance ministers are too busy doing their day jobs.

It is a disappointment that GEJ could not consider someone else but chose NOI whose inbox is overflowing without any progress, but at a great cost to Nigeria's masses.

What a country!! People shout about a UN social panel as an achievement. It is a shame that the ethical dwarves and mediocre ogres are the ones making noise and in positions.

I Hate to Describe Boko Haram as Terrorists, Although They Act Just Like Them – Goodluck Jonathan

In an address presented on his behalf by his deputy, Namadi Sambo, at the graduation ceremony of the National Defence College Course 20, in Abuja on Friday, President, Goodluck Jonathan has made it clear that it is a difficult task for the Federal Government to surmount the challenges posed by terrorism in the country.

Among other things, the president stressed the cooperation of all patriotic Nigerian in tackling the terrorists. The President pointed out that Nigerians must do everything possible to uncover the various terrorist hideouts in the county. He also challenged the security and intelligence agencies to take up the challenge to expose the various threats to national security through effective inter-agency collaboration.

According to the address, “Our security will therefore require the best intelligence to reveal threats hidden in built-up areas, in hills, in forests, in remote settlements and so on… Inter-agency cooperation among our security agencies must be reinforced and our responses must be swift… Above all, our security will require the participation of all loyal citizens of this country. The work ahead is complex and difficult; so, are the choices before us.”

The address continues: “I hate to describe the enemies as terrorists, but they operate just like them. We must uncover their cells using all available tools. We will work with all our friends in confronting terrorism… We are in a conflict between the good and the evil and we must be bold enough to call evil by its name. This evil goes by the name Boko Haram.”

Gbawe: GEJ is simply destroying the SS in precisely the same way his mentor OBJ attempted to divide-and-conquer the SW. This man gained a golden opportunity to uplift a region that has suffered terrible injustice into meritocratic prominence and set the ND/SS on the path of sustainable development.

Development for the ND can be facilitated through a deliberate drive to promote the coming together of the best and most upright intellect the region has to offer in an effort to chart a way forward. instead GEJ is cynically
empowering criminality, oil theft, militancy, political impositions etc that will become another Odili-style albatross against his region in future. I wish the ND/SS 'goodluck'.

It's a pity. I had a lot of goodwill for GEJ's right to run at the start, despite the stories and miserable track record. I really wanted him to shame the OBJs and IBBs of this world. I would have happily eaten my hat in shame if he had proved us all wrong. But all we hear these days are: "parasites, 2015, tenure elongation, na we oil". All these while resources are reaped by rent seeking politicians, taxes collected but wasted and our collective common wealth stolen whilst leaving us all with new debts ($44bn at last count).

The burden of GEJ's legacy will be borne by all, but the regionalistic and tribalistic sycophants will not be forgotten so soon.

This same lady has:

1) run up our debts to US$40bn;
2) failed to grow the external reserves, even during a period of peak oil price, but instead sillyily used peak oil price as justification for a lunatic debt to GdP profile;
3) sat back and cluelessly paid out billions in subsidy fraud; and
4) signed off and affirmed a humongous fraud called the 2012 budget.

I used to give NOI the benefit of the doubt but the evidence that she is rubbish is just too prevalent to ignore.

Okonjo-Iweala has lost her damn mind.

Govt creates the enabling environment for jobs to be created - WEST

Govt builds huge and beneficial infrastructure to act as economic catalysts - EAST/China, S.Korea and India (and WEST in post war era)

Govt steals resources, makes it difficult for business to happen, and borrows to further burden the masses and increase the debt. Same govt turns around and says Govt does not create jobs - NIGERIA.

Mrs Iweala is a disgrace to economists.

Goodluck Jonathan Visits Jamaica:

NIGERIAN PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan will visit the island next week in commemoration of Jamaica's 50th anniversary of Independence.

President Jonathan, along with First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan, will be the guest of the people of Jamaica from August 2 to 3.

The Nigerian president will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller. He will also pay courtesy calls on Governor General Sir Patrick Allen and Leader of the Opposition Andrew Holness.

$50m or N8bn. Is This from the same govt that cannot implement a budget? Please tell me it's not from tax payers' resources, and that NGOs are raising the funds privately!

N8bn on a daft and wasteful project which should have been dead on arrival, with the person that proposed it summarily dismissed.

N8bn is a good percentage of the federal budget for essential projects and a multiple of primary infrastructure that's currently absent.

If this was being spent on a maternity hospital, that would have been different.

I say again, GEJ cannot tell the difference between his elbow and his buttocks. Clueless from the start, in a clueless fashion will he finish.
