Frayol007:You're ignorant. Devolution of power doesn't mean the federal government won't be involved in critical sectors of the economy. In the first republic, there was devolution of power to the regions yet the federal government still built and owned the universities. Atiku is unreasonable for making such stupid promise. You don't hand over federal universities to states that are already burdened with their own state universities, polytechnics and colleges. That will further destroy our education sector! 4 Likes |

Yesterday, Atiku promised to hand over federal universities to states and private sector if elected president. Really, this is the most stupid policy anyone could ever imagine. Federal universities are still the best in the country in terms of research, facilities, staffing, relatively low tuition etc. Yet Atiku is hoping to reduce them to the lower quality of state universities? Or make them so expensive and out of reach of most Nigerians like private universities? Common, federal governments all over the world still fund some of the most prestigious universities so why would our own be different? Most states are unable to upgrade facilities in their universities to be of standard. They can't even afford to employ enough qualified staff. They don't even fund research and they usually owe their lecturers so why would Atiku want to burden them more at the detriment of Nigerian youths and the education sector??!! Atiku is obviously as bad as Buhari and Tinubu, so Nigerian youths BEWARE!!! 3 Likes |

Stealing of oil has drastically reduced our official output and that has affected Nigeria's income/balance of payments. I think the people of Niger delta has indirectly gotten resource control through stealing. However, only a section are enjoying it i.e. the Ijaws. Others like Ibibios, Igbos, Anangs, Itshekiris, and Uhrobos are not benefiting from it which results in another injustice. Remember the oil is not being stolen from wells but rather from pipelines which means even oil from upland Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Abia, Delta, Edo and Anambra are being stolen by Ijaws. The only reason why the Ijaws are the ones stealing most of it at the detriment of other oil producing indigenous people of Niger delta is because their own area is within the ecologically impenetrable mangrove swamps. So, instead of paying Tompolo a staggering 4 billion naira which he will also use to settle other Ijaws, the government should rather train the navy and air force using the Israeli on how to use unmanned drones 24/7 in wiping out the oil thieves. While that is going on, you allocate more percentage directly to the oil producing communities and LGA's with a caveat that monthly allocations will not be paid to any community where bunkering activities took place and they would also bear cost of repairs and losses with subsequent allocations due to them. Then you also empower their vigilante groups with sophisticated equipment and training to tackle the oil thieves. That's what the federal government ought to do. I'm annoyed that oil from my state is being stolen by these guys only for them to be bribed the more. Many wicked, corrupt and selfish Nigerians will be forgotten or only remembered as bad examples when this battle is over. Buhari is on record as the first president in the history of the world to vote against his own citizen when he supported a Nigerien man against an Igbo man from Nigeria who contested for a UN top level position. Buhari has been building roads and rails into Niger republic, buying vehicles for them even with borrowed money from China! Now, the question is, since they love Niger republic so much, why did they fight against Gideon Okar when he tried to cut them off to join them? Why did they fight Ojukwu when he broke away from Nigeria? The answer is this, they can't do without Southern resources. |

While Christian votes in other regions of Nigeria will largely go to Obi as well. Then an important demography people have failed to acknowledge are the workers. Nigerian Workers by default belong to Labour Party and they know within themselves that Obi will make their welfare his priority. ASUU and the rest are hoping that Obi will win and give them concessions. Your Bat can only come 3rd or 4th because rigging that would have given him the edge won't work in 2023. |
