CultureMy Lagos Biatches And Thier Garri-garri by VPersie(op): 7:17am On Oct 26, 2010
I was in ng recently. i do not seem to understand why the guys and chicks i meet tend to disrespect people from the north and the middle belt, i do not mean to generalize, but its something that baffles me, they cannot differentiate between a kanuri, kamba, irigwe, birom and the likes the tend to classify all as hausa. funny, i do know who a yoruba from badagry and one from ilesha is, an ijaw from and ishekiri, kaba from igbeti e.t.c, so how comes they are on the black?, another issue is they tend to think they know all or have the answers to everything, met some corpers when i was serving about seven years ago who were bragging about lagos as if it was not the lagos that i do visit, dont get me wrong i love lagos but it is nowhere near a place like kontagora where u have power for half of the day or more , the roads are ok and no agbero asking u for a handout, now the main issue, the biggest problem is they make so much noise for ppl who know little, once again dont get me wrong i have wonderful friends in and from lag, yinka aina, jimi tijjani et all, but majority of em (the graduates) dont know where bogota is or the currency used in russia, that is to say i caled ten of them and asked them ten questions about varoius stuff outside their disciplines and the were all stammering, imagine, last week some bunch of corpers( all from eko) came to ma office and were hurling insults here and there,
i asked them certain questions about nigeria, and to my chagrin they could not answer,
what i want to say here is that we need to have respect for each other no matter where u are from, u should be judged by your attitude to life and your work and not by where u come from , i really get bothered when people tell me they thought i was youruba or from south south when i tell em i am friom plateau state, j-town to be precise they tend not to believe me,

Christianity EtcWhat Has Been Your Experience With Juju? by VPersie(op): 1:19am On Sep 26, 2010
For some time now I have read several posts relating to how juju was almost used on a person either through food or other means. I was speaking to my mum a few weeks ago and she told me about how my grand-cousin came back from Germany and his wife got "agbo" (herbal drink) from the village and died with her 8-year old daughter. This made me very scared and unwilling to contemplate going back home. I cannot stand the thought that I will always have to be watching my back and hoping no one plans to hurt me. Has anyone else had similar experiences or heard about similar experiences? I believe in God, but some of these things happen to people that believe in God more than I do? How can I handle this fear? Or should I just rule out going back home forever?

RomanceRe: Being Single Can Be Frustrating by VPersie: 5:26am On Sep 22, 2010
This is funny. Instead of you guys to tell the OP the bitter truth about her immaturity, you all busy coating the truth in sweet words. Abeg make I yarn truth to you, trayc. First of all, you are exhibiting mind-boggling immaturity for a 25 year old. I thought people say women are more matured in relationship matters. You are definitely an exception to that rule. If at quarter-to-30 when all sensible people are getting hooked and settling down, you are not because of silly things like this:

your couson tall just enough that I will walk with him even in my very highest heel but too tall, is he big enough that I will be lost in his hug but not too big, does he have a bright future, is he funny, ambitious, fair complexion, can I proudly introduce him as my BF(Cute) to whoever I meet, is loving and caring, nurturing and sensitive, strong and firm, is he attached to his feminine side, can he say NO without offending me, can he be assertive with me without hurting my feelings, can he be honest with me without breaking my heart, can he rise against all odds, can he stand still, be irremovable even after the tempest, trials and turmoils of this world had battered him and uproot his soul, can he still stand tall even when his meet cant hang in his bones, can he?, Does he go to the gym, does he have a six pack, big arms, big chest, can he understand that Im independent and will not consult him every time I wana take a decision whether big or small, can he take the fact I will smile and flirt with every guy but will never cheat on him, can he apologise to me even if I was wrong and accept my apology later when I realize that I was in the wrong, can he understand that I have life of my own and have dreams that will sometyms seem more important than the r/s although that might not be true, can he give without remembering and take without forgetting just like me, is he kind and generous just like me, I think I have mentioned everything, if there is anything missing I will consult u
they you not ready for marriage and I pity anybody who makes the mistake of marrying you. That will be such a person's worst mistake in his/her life. You bera go sort out your life before you carry your problem to another innocent man/woman's life.

What tangible thing have these women acheived? Let call a spoon a spoon. Apart from the likes of Ezekwesili and Iweala that have achieved on an international playing field, the rest on these lists consists of mediocres, wanna-bes, and almost-were with a sprinkling of feel-good social studies heroines.

Consider your advice considered.
Nairaland GeneralWill I Make A Good Father? by VPersie(op): 3:42am On Sep 12, 2010
What does it take to be a good father? A little relevant background on me: I am stolid, my default mode is one of indifference and lack of emotion. I am not a wicked person, but I am unnaturally unemotional. I have little or no bonds with anybody. I make a deliberate effort to not be attached to anyone, including my family: "keep it formal," I like to call it. I was thinking about my future recently and I wondered if I will make a good dad with such disposition. I envision myself as someone who will provide for his family in every way, especially financially, except emotionally. I may not be all lovey-dovey with my wives and kids (except if I marry a Goddess character-wise ), although I will provide for their needs as a matter of responsibility and humanity. Is this a sufficient condition to be a good father? If not, what else is needed? What if my character is not disposed to the demands of fatherhood? Should I then stay celibate? Discuss.
