@libranglyps I think this is a joke.,; bt am nt laughing. your a sadistIs that you and your sister in your profile picture. How old are you? I still hope to marry more wives in the future. So, holla at me. |
Some months ago, a colleague was asking me questions about Nigeria so she could become more familiar with Nigerian culture etc. I spoke extemporaneously and at length about Nigeria' potential, and failure of leadership. I also talked about how the poor education system was a good enough reason to leave Nigeria and how life is relatively short and brutish in Nigeria. On security, she asked me, "If I come to Nigeria, is it pretty likely that I will get robbed?" I thought for some time. My mind flashed back to the agberos on the streets of Ojuelegba, where I lived before I left Nigeria. I replied, "Yes. Very likely." In retrospect, I feel bad about my answer because I feel like I painted Nigeria in a poor light. Unfortunately, the pattern repeats itself very often. Anytime I speak to a foreigner about Nigeria, I always end up saying so many negative things that I feel like I am being unpatriotic or being a self-hater. I once met one white man after the USA-Ghana game at the world cup. He came to me to make small talk and started launching a barrage of criticisms about Nigeria and Africa in general. I found myself nodding in agreement to all his negative talk. This also made me feel like I was under mental-colonization or something. Does anyone else have similar experiences? How do you handle it? How should I handle this in the future? |
Thanks for the well aND mean wishes. I ACCEPT them in good faith. But i need marriage advice ooh. |
@iice That makes sense. I hope you are correct. If not, it is a bad sign. More contributions welcome. |
I will definitely pursue her as a second wife. Brains and beauty? Count me in. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=497870.msg6641953#msg6641953 |
THe younger the better. We will be just fine. Especially if you can cook and you are smart. That just makes me go crazy. Opitipiti. |
Bad belle people like you that do not wish me well may you fall down and die. Why can't you even wish a person well on a very important day? Please put your jealousy and bitterness aside for one second and give me marriage advises to make my marriage work. |
^^^^^^ Guy wetin you dey smoke? Abeg give me small make me sef puff. |
@Ikenagwo Abeg help me tell the OP again. That is how government works these days. People no longer fight for the common good but for parochial and selfish benefits. |
I want you to congratulate me. Marriage is an epochal event in any person's life. It is the most important day after the day of disvirginment. So I expect your wishes of a long and prosperous future and happy married life. |
For several weeks, I have posted several threads on Nairaland. These threads fall into two categories: 1. Those that contain inanities as the core of made up gossip and absurd stories. These stories are specially prepared to make people wonder, "is this for real?" They are intentionally made to baffle, annoy, and elicit mockery. These threads also ask silly and unnecessary questions. 2. Those that are the product of real life and semi-real life situations to which I seriously and urgently need advice and guidance. These threads are the product of several minutes/hours/days of fruitless thinking. I usually resort to coming on NL because I need solutions but cannot seem to figure them out on my own. So, in general, the issues addressed in these threads pertain to serious matters of life. Why is that I get overwhelming responses to the threads of type-1 and little or none to the threads of type-2? Is it a sign that the average nairalander/nigerian eschews or lacks the skills for critically thinking about issues and solving problems? If this is the case, is that why people are eager to hurl insults and drop one-liners (ala mama-gee), since they seem incapable of doing the hard brain work necessary for meaningful dialogue? I eagerly await your responses and opinions. |
I just noticed that someone was in the same situation as me last year. There is really nothing new under the sun. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-270347.0.html |
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=497870.msg6641799#msg6641799 Our parents have finally agreed that it is in the best interest of both of us and the general peace and prosperity that the wedding goes on as planed. I plan to marry my very very young (tear-rubber 15 year-old) wife on Christmas day this year. Well wishers and bad belle are welcome to celebrate with me. Your prayers and blessings are welcome. |
Congratulations to me. Well-wishers and bad-belle people are welcome to comment. |

Dear Abby, A couple of women moved in across the hall from me. One is a middle-aged gym teacher and the other is a social worker in her mid-twenties. These two women go everywhere together and I've never seen a man go into or leave their apartment. Do you think they could be Lebanese? ________________________________________ Dear Abby, What can I do about all the Sex, Nudity, Fowl Language and Violence On My VCR? ________________________________________ Dear Abby, I have a man I can't trust. He cheats so much, I'm not even sure the baby I'm carrying is his. ________________________________________ Dear Abby, I am a twenty-three year old liberated woman who has been on the pill for two years. It's getting expensive and I think my boyfriend should share half the cost, but I don't know him well enough to discuss money with him. ________________________________________ Dear Abby, I've suspected that my husband has been fooling around, and when confronted with the evidence, he denied everything - and said it would never happen again. ________________________________________ Dear Abby, Our son writes that he is taking Judo. @ogugua419 I will quit from marrying the girl if you will take her place. Deal? |
Okay so I am about to get a perfect score on a very important test. I just lost my job, and I am planning on organizing tutoring sessions on this test once I get my results, for a reasonable fee. The problem is I feel guilty about asking people to pay for a knowledge I didn't really have to pay for apart from buying the books. I feel like i should volunteer my services for free, but then I have short term and long term financial goals. Where should I draw the line between altruism and entrepreneurship? |
Recently, I have had more money than I have ever had in my life. It is not a lot of money, but it seems relatively much because I have very few needs and thus always seem to have more than enough to meet those needs. What I have noticed is that with this increase in means, I have also increased my taste. So in the past when I would be grateful for a black-and-white TV, today I want a HDTV. In the past I used to be tolerant, though uncomfortable, with taking the bus for durations as long as 2 hours sometimes. Nowadays I am talking about buying a car or taking a cab for over 10 times the price of a cab. In all these instances of better taste, whenever I spend, I tend to feel guilty because I feel like I am doing something wrong by paying for comfort. Does any one else feel this way? How do I get out of thinking like this? Or am really overspending and is an increased taste a bad thing? How much should I pay to choose comfort over just being "okay?" |
Peter Odemwingie scored a late goal on his debut to give West Brom all three Premier League points against Sunderland at the Hawthorns. Odemwingie, whose transfer from Lokomotiv Moscow had only been confirmed 24 hours earlier, wasted little time in making a name for himself at his new club, taking on James Morrison's pass and slotting home the winner with nine minutes to go. The victory marked a spirited response from the Baggies, who had started the day bottom of the Barclays Premier League table after they were thrashed 6-0 at Chelsea last week. |
I can see jealousy and envy written all over these replies. What does age have to do with love? I don't understand. When you love someone, you do not remember whether anything is legal or illegal. |
