examine the body of the man for defensive wounds.

the answer lies in that house but I strongly believe there must be a third man.

What are the palliatives for the general population? Nothing in the speech offers relief to ordinary Nigerians. How are we going to feed? If there is a total shut down, how do we get supplies of food, groceries and essential items.
Most companies are already reeling from the effects of restricted business activities for the past two weeks, I doubt many would be able pay full salaries. What's in the speech to help private companies maintain their workers.

Furthermore, most Nigerians live from day to day, shutting down all business activities would leave them penniless.

Other countries are spending billions and trillions to offer relief to companies and citizens, in order to mitigate the effects of economic shutdown.
the summary of the speech is anarchy
the conclusion is starvation

war time speech!

Analysis: his speech is all reactive and nothing suggest that Nigeria with it's enormous human capacity and wealth is looking at solution or providing insight into the pandemic.

if we follow this procedure and expect the whiteman to discover the cure soon, we might end up becoming a communist state.

what we expect are:

strategies that will both contain the virus and still keep the economy moving.

why Nigerians need not fear, or should we really be afraid we are under siege by the virus?

The health ministry obviously are just looking at the whiteman expecting solution, why are they not researching ?

This is mass hysteria and indirect means of imposing restrictions and control over the people, the political class and millitary would have a field day!

Nigeria and Africa would descend into chaos soon !

Shutting down Lagos would cause hardship that will become irredeemable !

FG should have commenced robust testing and concentrate strategies of fighting the pandemic in Lagos long before now ?

Young ppl need to be active and working in Lagos or else , crime and break-in would spur.
our untrained lawmen would take the law arbitrarily.

this is a crude and backward way of addressing the epicentre of Nigeria economy, when we have no scientific basis, reliable data, testing facilities or treatment for the case....we just abruptly adopts shutdown!!!!

think if this virus eventually has no mortality potency in Africa , who looses?

the world needs brilliant leaders in time of crisis not retired millitary men who respond to issues because they are tutored to do so.

Excellent analysis!

It is true most of the data on covid 19 is coming from Asia, Europe, and Americas. There is virtually nothing from Africa. The onus is on our researchers to start looking at our data.

Weather could be one of the factors influencing the rate of transmission of the virus. It remain to be proven scientifically.

In general, I think there could be genetic, environmental, social, and other factors in play.

Our high exposure to chloroquine being in malaria endemic zone; our low prevalence of elderly population; our low prevalence of non-communicable diseases; our low rate of international flights, could all be factors worth exploring if the transmission curve continue to be flat in the coming weeks.
thank you and I hope we get saved in time.

You are right we are not testing enough. But at week 4 even untested patients would have developed symptoms and reported to hospitals. We are yet to hear reported cases of covid 19 illness from any hospital nor has there been reported deaths of unusual number of people from mysterious illness.

There is just something interesting about the rate of transmission of the virus in Nigeria or even Africa; it doesn't seems to be as aggressive as reported in other continents.

Just look at the number of people who tested positive after coming in contact with Abba Kyari; one would have expected hundreds.
The current research has their hands full of samples from Europe and the Americas, what they are not doing and telling us is" is the virus virulent in all weather? since it's symptoms are flu like and flu is a cold region disease, does it mean it's transmission and potency drops with higher temperature?

moreso, the majority of the death cases are elderly and persons with asthma and underlying mostly respiratory diseases.

does it mean I can carry the virus and with good health condition not be symptomatic and eventually fought off?

already scientist in UK are noting asthma aids the mortality rate and younger men with healthy lifestyle are discharged and discouraged from visiting hospitals but treated with paracetamol.

I think Africans would be coerced into panicking by their overaged leaders with series of health problems into lockdown and unnecessary information and tactics.

I take good cue from Trump who's already considering zoning based on test samples and demography.

for ppl who wanto start argument ....I get all my info from BBC not Instagram or Twitter

these guys should stop releasing unscientific information that is damaging public reasoning.

scientist are begining to understand that the virus attacks and becomes serious with certain people of age and health issues

The United States has begin zoning based on demography and could allow free movt in zones populated by young ppl.

Shouting upandan and locking everywhere with no empirical data of the spread, no. of test and clinical samples.

everything here is force and force and order with mopol, no intelligence !

this virus would be reduced to flu in Europe, common cold in Africa

all these jumping around and testing positive or negative would make no meaning eventually

the virus cannot be totally eliminated among humans

the human immune syst would counter it and drugs that can weaken it would surface

it's now left for folks not to indulge in lifestyle that can enhance the risk of dying by d viris

this is how it works : they waylay affluent cars driven by youngmen and threatened them with worse implications should they book them in, alternatively give us part of the booty.

thinking some are smart the policemen employ scare tactics and holding technique to break you down psychologically.

they av been successful wi somany and it's a high paying trick, and implication is "criminals on the loose again"

the guy was lucky to av been legit and av some connect, if not he would be roped in during the "holding"

that's Nigeria for you, the training they acquired to use to curtail crime is been used to EXTORT law abiding citizens.

best advise, once you are accosted, stand your ground and don't panic, start making your calls and don't struggle physically or they accidentally shoot you and claim" u are a robber resisting arrest. make wat you are saying on phone inaudible and ensure you are calling lawyers or ppl who av access to lawyers.

lastly if it is night... give them all wat u av... they are killers!

importing it to Africa .... it would surely die a natural death.

we can't transmit our poverty mind, likewise you can't modify our climate to accommodate this disease, you can only try.

Olanipekun1:
angry cry

RIP legend

my favorite of his song

On a warm summer's eve
On a train bound for nowhere
I met up with the gambler
We were both too tired to sleep
So we took turns a-starin'
Out the window at the darkness
The boredom overtook us,
And he began to speak

He said, "Son, I've made a life
Out of readin' people's faces
Knowin' what the cards were
By the way they held their eyes
So if you don't mind me sayin'
I can see you're out of aces
For a taste of your whiskey
I'll give you some advice"

So I handed him my bottle
And he drank down my last swallow
Then he bummed a cigarette
And asked me for a light
And the night got deathly quiet
And his faced lost all expression
He said, "If you're gonna play the game, boy
You gotta learn to play it right

You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done

Every gambler knows
That the secret to survivin'
Is knowin' what to throw away
And knowin' what to keep
'Cause every hand's a winner
And every hand's a loser
And the best that you can hope for is to die
in your sleep

And when he finished speakin'
He turned back toward the window
Crushed out his cigarette
And faded off to sleep
And somewhere in the darkness
The gambler he broke even
But in his final words
I found an ace that I could keep

You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done

You've got to know when to hold 'em (when to hold 'em)
Know when to fold 'em (when to fold 'em)
Know when to walk away
And know when to run
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done

You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done
I was reading and singing and smiling, if heaven is judged by mere men, Kenny deserved paradise

I understand your point but in these case the parents were informed to cut their children's hair if it was you would you cut the hair, ignore the message, or tell the school you want your child's hair as it is?
I might obey but may not also be within the time frame cos of time constraint, a lot of parent will av this challenge of time.

But it's absurd for teachers to take that initiative of cutting d hair. it's unacceptable to take up the job of a barber in a school, same way police can't execute you for a crime cos he's not a judge

it's lack of deep thinking and over ambition that led the teachers to such. That parent is just acting out of fear

why would you be in the mountains with weapons if not as dangerous criminals.

Government needs to start executing armed criminal gangs, it is appropriate in the face of this recent insecurity.

I was about to comment on how harsh the parents are but I saw it was a 5years old kid!!!

am a Dad of a 4years old boy and would not also take it lightly.

it will cause several uneasiness and trauma in the parents,s their kids body been tampered with esp hair, knowing how diabolic Africans are.

2. it may mean the school are given license to sexually molest a child or prowl their privates in the guise of hygiene.

3. the kid must have been terrified and crying at the sight of the abusive behaviour imagine if the parent had walked in then..... me, I would probably beat the teacher like a thief.

schools should learn and adapt to the social change and current pandemic and not just be overly bearing on issues of discipline that would land them in prison.
