LOOKS LIKE GADDAFI WAS RIGHT ABOUT ISRAEL'S INVOLVEMENT IN SUDAN. THE NEW YORK TIMES REPORTS THAT ISRAEL CARRIED OUT A BOMB RAID ON SOUTHERN SUDAN IN JANUARY. A PROBE SHOULD BE ORDERED FIRST AND FOREMOST AND IF TRUE THEN AU MUST ACT FAST ,NEXT BY IMPOSING SANCTIONS ON ISRAEL. |
Yesterday there was no forewarning as the commercial vehicle rode the bend approaching the Murtala International Airport-a near mangled body lay by the side of the road, another victim of a human-auto crash. There were several sighs, grunts and a momentary silence before the bus’ commuters embarked on the subject ‘cause and consequence’ of expressway crossing This morning there was the impending doom signal ahead; a handful of LATSMA officers loitering about a cordoned off lane, a misused tyre and a slowly building traffic on the busy Oshodi-Apapa expressway in Lagos. I saw the body first and I knew there was the split second decision to make-to look or not to. I did the easy part. His lower trunk lay visible underneath a ‘Molue’(a Mercedes 911)-his head smashed to smithereens, flattened underneath the bus’ right rear tyre-a very gory sight. There were a zillion signs of crosses, grunts, closed eyes and clenched teeth-fortunately no one puked. The bus preacher continued loudly battling for relevance while the remaining commuters debated why the fellow’s body wasn’t extricated from underneath the vehicle, http://connectafrica./2009/03/27/the-colours-of-insanity/ |
true the grassgroots are illiterate but then we aren't killing the witches in sunday sermons then it's politicians visiting okija shrine to swear oaths. it's pervasive-this juju thing |
“You have to bring three strands of beard from a toddler, two teeth of a mosquito, Etc” the several gap toothed wealth-shaman looked menacingly at an open-mouthed patient who had come to him for help; the doorway to immense wealth and prosperity. The ‘jazzman’ ended with a note of finality saying “the only way out for this hapless victim was to comply or remain rooted in poverty”. This TV ad is the latest attempt by a Nigerian financial institution in encouraging more customers to its retirement savings scheme.Well finding a mosquito’s canine could be equal to finding the Golden Fleece in Timbuktu, but what isn’t in doubt is the widespread belief in voodoo in several African countries. A love potion, success rings, Fertility incantations, security belts, everything and anything is possible in Africa. This week revived the Spanish inquisition in Gambia, when police and jazzmen working hand in glove discerned 1000 witches and wizards, http://connectafrica./2009/03/20/voodoo-religion-and-politics-in-the-african-shrine/ |
sadly president ravalomanana is finally moving it, took my advice |
Didn't Abacha have a similar fan club. Human beings would sell out for personal interests. Being on the good side of guys like Bashir could be difference between life and death.well said bru, it's the hall mark of African leaders of shame, lesson 1 ;always play dirty ; take their freedom, dignity and food and they'll come scampering to you like hungry mongrels |
Madagascar has become the latest metaphor for the fragility and growing ‘bananalizing’ of several African states. The AU is currently meeting on the situation in Madagascar and is expected to issue a joint declaration condemning Rajoelina. However that’s were it ends, critics of the regional body will be quick to point out that similar situations had played out in Guinea, Zimbabwe, Mauritania, Guinea Bissau not forgetting the many warring states in Central Africa-where we have left peace treaties mean no justice and clandestine compromises Meanwhile President Ravalomanana has said he will fight on to death with his rag-tag band. The painful truth is that he may not get the chance of a heroic last stand with every second counting as he’s been tactfully wedged in-trapped in a cocoon of conspiracy, blackmail and corruption. Political analysts say his best bet will be to heed the call of the Americans-leave now that you have the chance, http://connectafrica./2009/03/17/madagascarthe-making-of-a-banana-republic/ |
MTN 3G USB internet modem is the latest attempt at fraud by a mobile telecom company-and they’re succeeding in landslide numbers in Africa’s biggest telecom market-Nigeria. The damn thing doesn’t work. In one month its USB internet modem’s speed has doddered around 10 to 15 kilobytes download speed-nowhere near its promise of 75-100 kb. The nightmare began mid last month when for two weeks the device stopped working-worse still my 1 month subscription had only just begun-so in pain I watched my money dribble down the unscrupulous telecom company’s drain, http://connectafrica./2009/03/09/mtns-fraudulent-internet-services/ ![]() |

![]() I am an electrical engineer. and i can tell you how to save half of the electricity use in nigeria.. hmmm how do you save from what we dont have, we require at 40,000 megawatts for Lagos to run effectively. we don't even 10 percent of that amount so what the hell are u saving |
‘Africans unite…’ a popular tune from legendary Jamacian reggae maestro and revolutionary blared from speakers in a commercial bus in Lagos-Nigeria’s commercial hub. ‘We are the children of I-and-I…’ the song played on perhaps also in Khartoum and TripoliOn the eve of the ICC sitting on whether a warrant should be issued for his arrest, Sudan’s president danced and told a large throng of his acolytes that the ICC could toss its planned indictment into the waste bin saying it wasn’t worth more than the ink it would be penned in. 2 hours after his indictment, President Bashir was still basking in the euphoric aura of a tin God, though the rhetoric had changed from I-don’t -care to the-west-hates-me. Isolated billowing smoke from several burning effigies of Mr. Luis Moreno Ocampo and any paraphernalia representing the West were complimented by vociferous shouts of “ we love you Bashir” from a huge crowd that had gathered in support of the indicted President, http://connectafrica./2009/03/04/africans-unite-against-president-bashir/ |

i hope its not the same ojo madueke, the one who promised to take Nigeria to El dorado by riding bicycles. i'd rather resurrect kaduna nzeogu from the grave than give Ojo Madueke a chance. the atrocities he chunked up with the PDP in Obj's failed years are indicative antecedents of his roguish origins |
Haba!!, abi e no funny |

great decision especially since the AU and ECOWAS can't differentiate between the killer and the saint. forget about what Gaddaffi is saying the rest of Africa would gladly sit back and allow Bashir get the Charles taylor treatment. i wish to reiterate that the key to the end of the darfur crisis is what the ICC has done-get Bashir out of the way. Gaddaffi is one mad dog the continent can do without. Bashir is responsible for the senseless deaths of several thousand darfurians; the bulk stopped at his table 2 years ago for failing to provide cover for a dozen Nigerian peacekeepers who were bowdlerized at an outpost in Darfur by supporter of APC militia-a vicious rag tag group which is funded by Bashir. He is also responsible for funding renegade Joseph Kony just outside at the ugandan border. I suggest Bashir gets some lesson in Long-suffering something Muammar Gaddafi will all be too willing to dish out especially when he spent nearly 2 decades in economic and national limbo ![]() @ desgiezd ; sorry dude this is a different kettle of fish-bashir is down and out |
The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Sudanese president Omar Hassan al-Bashir on Wednesday for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Darfur. The decision against Bashir, the most senior figure pursued by the Hague-based court since it was set up in 2002, could spark more turmoil in Sudan and the surrounding region. It could also hurt prospects for peace in Sudan and pit Western powers against backers of the Khartoum government.http://connectafrica./2009/03/04/president-bashir-indicted-for-war-crimes-in-darfur/ |
"they will issue their decision tomorrow, this coming decision, they can prepare now they can eat it ( the warrant), " Bashir told a crowd of supporters who lit and stamped on an effigy of ICC prosecutor Moreno Ocampo. Bashir's coomments were at the opening of a hydroelectic dam in Merowe, , http://connectafrica./2009/03/03/bashir-tells-icc-to-eat-warrant/ |
