leave bash alone i beg, 2 months ago, he was at the national assembly, asking the law makers to compel the minister of sports to support his quest. the lawmakers acceded, asking Ndanusa to ensure that Bash is given 100 percent. So next year could be bash's time in the sun. |
Hollandis is right on the spot; nigeria will qualify the above scenario plays out |
just watching the proceedings of the national assembly and can't understand how the honourable speaker of the national assembly doesnt know who Africa's biggest humanitarian is, Mo Ibrahim. |
yes it is not as bad as the media reports, but if poorly controlled could reach pandemic proportions. the WHO has already raised the alert to 6; the highest possible level. Now Lagosians should gear-up for the surgiical masks. I dare say by monday the streets will be flooded with medical paraphernalia, Eko o ni baje |
today i had another dream, |
there are no lessons to be learnt here. In 1991, Nigeria was banned and we did not learn anythingwe did not go to the last world cup and did not learn anything so why does anyone think a FIFA ban will teach us any lessons |
I hear the kenyans are already dream of beating the SE sily something in the region of 3-0. Na we bring ourself down make fly dey use us play.Blood of Jesus, I bind u in the name of Harambee |
good topic, i thought of this topic a year ago, infact i got several pics, but then changed my mind. The problem here is african women got the bodies not meant for the low waist pants; no fault of theirs. I think we'd have to wait patiently for this to fade away like other wayward trends ![]() |
@posters, tell me I'm not dreaming, but i dreamt Mozambiquenicked Tunisia by a lone goal and J J Okocha came out of retirement for the world cup. I believe in fairytale endings |
been following the esoteric nature of Nigeria's soccer in recent weeks. I noticed that every game has a TB Joshua perspective at the long run. The Prophet happens to see every game before hand!!! Nevertheless I thought someone might have a scoop on the above topic before matchday rather than waiting after the match. So if you got something to say about these games, spill, lest some Nigerians die of hypertension ![]() |
@ sagamite Honestly, I have to say this is a stupid statement. Stupid logic!you don start again. Nevertheless, this is an exact example of JUJU journalism. I read the original story in the punch and PM news nicely took it out of context for commercial reasons, sadly the loser here is Nigeria. A critical foreign press will take Nigeria to the cleaners for this

|
it is no hidden fact that several eaglets are over-aged.But Who the hell is Adokie Amasiemeka to whistle-blow. When he needed to be bold for the Ogoni 9 he kept quiet and for posterity hugged the golden realms of cowardice. Even at the famous Oputa panel tribunal, he defended the barbaric actions of Colonel Okuntimo and the state's Milad col. Komo to everyone's disgust and consternation. Adokiye is a traitor and doesn't deserve any respect. If the Eaglets captain was indeed his SON like he claims, then he should have treated this maturely rather than this public disgrace |
Now let tell you guys sumfin. Some months back, a friend bought an expired bottle of diet coke and I took it up on my blog and on NL. Two weeks of visits and calls failed to get a response from either NAFDAC and NBC. But one day of my post on NL and blog elicited comments from several bloggers and NL's. The good news is this-the consumer manager of NBC eventually came to my blog, apologised and wanted more details. "he said call these numbers send me an email and the location of these expired drinks" now this is a case study of what to do with new media. put the pressure. Why this NBC come calling? Because the search spiders tagged by post and Google was returning my post instead of cocacola's propaganda, So NL has potential i insist |
and i am a serious, enterprising journalist and must admit that this is a thankless job. the truth is you'd never know unless you got on the field. IT'S TOUGH. I've covered crime politics and foreign affairs; it's no child's play; have u ever been to darfur? |
Nevertheless let's call a truce; b4 this gets too far; a 1000 apologies. It's friday and there's much more to be done than bandying words on NL. Habare gane bru |
lool, that's the idea.my unreadable posts are too high for you.olodo |
@ SAGAMITE There are better synonyms than slowpoke; get a thesaurus SAGAMITE THE FOOL , anyway i'm leaving you, this thread in the lurch of your smelly puke. you're too dumb for a serious debate. a waste of intellect. when you're with living i suggest you donate your brain to the university of ibadan zoo |
all these ones no fine, anyone remember BINTA SUKAI, sege that girl fine no be small |
@Seun. Why did you change the title of this post. Nevertheless i agree with some fella here who says that Nairaland was never really created for Nationalistic or social reasons rather for commercial reasons. be that as it may, the perception could be altered. who says NAIRALAND cannot become a political party in the future or throw its support behind a candidate. it's political value could be harnessed and estimated SEUN but then it's plenty of dogged hard work. Right now its tottering at the lower limits; plenty of raw stuff but in time it should all even out |
@Sagamite. Now there are many things that do not ring right in Nigeria and one of them is; though the Niger-Delta is more than 90% responsible for the existence of Nigeria, it thrives and wallows in abject poverty. It is an overstated fact that many things have gone awry in Nigeria. However one thing that holds true; resonating globally is this. AS FOOLISH AS SAGAMITE. The protest in Abuja which you discarded is the worst editorial work I have seen in years and that’s because you rewrote it. You overstep the shambolic boundaries of your bland and mediocre world when you say the analysis should have been the impact of the protest. A fool you are, because the reporter clearly answered the point of analysis when he answered in summary. What was the reason for the rally? That story was a straight or copy story which means it had to be straight to the point; need I educate you that there are several news writing styles and forms and unfortunately QUACK EDITOR; you are lost in an unending pool of ignorance. Well in DIASPORA you dwell; the only problem here is that the only times I have heard that word was during the EXODUS 3500 years ago and the era of the African slavery, albeit this aptly explains your anachronistic primordial leaning. Now you father was wiser than you because he kept the old dailies and clippings for future references such as this and I am sure that if you ask him he’d provide you several dailies which provided the details of the former TSS agreement. Again when I call you a scallywag I am not far off the mark; because in the last two months the ASUU boss has on morning and prime news magazine TV programmes enlightened the public; and informed everyone that cared a hoot it’s demand. But then I am wary because I am reminded in coining a proverb not cast my pearls before a swine. The paucity of Nigerian information is not new; if you had the benefit of graduating from a Nigerian university you would realize that most formidable clog in the wheel was this; most information available for analysis dated back to the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. Idiota; the national dailies are not the federal ministry of information and statistics. You cannot be in Jerusalem nincompoop, and expect to be a critique of the Nigerian press when by your admission are not more knowledgeable of salient Nigerian issues than a garage tout or street-side chef; your misfortune dumbass This unfortunately is not fault of the media, but of a moronic conjecture of dim-witted cells which comprise your DNA, SHAGAMITE THE FOOLISH, E la la puta |
My brother Gani don dai. one man protest these days e bi as e get |
i've just checked the value of my blog; i'm selling off.!! never knew the damn thing was making some cool bucks |
well presenting the facts without fear or fervour every time would get you killed. I am not saying that there are neither errors nor shortcomings but to say an editor or reporter made a gaffe and you label him a slowpoke for his entire life is a silly assessment. My friend i have done stories and interviews afterward the interviewee walked up to me saying in clear terms, " don't use that track" and he wasn't throwing kid gloves. when Nuhu Ribadu in a fit said the lawmakers are sleeping because they wanted to amend the EFFC act; i was there and Ribadu apologized saying "don't use that track i was angry." the following day all national dailies read, RIBADU SAYS LAWMAKERS ARE SLEEPING there have been several of such incidences, friend. but then everyone isn't as genial and cordial as Ribadu; ask Bayo ohu and Dele Giwa. several journalists have families and face huge risks while reporting, worse still they aren't paid well. AIT hasn't paid salaries in 5 months. yet the pressmen toil harder than several vocations, i dare you to fault my claims. several of the industries practitioners were not trained in NUJ or mass communication departments, likewise thousands of yoruba and english graduates that work in banks. i am a trained urban and regional planner but i can assure you that the housing and environment industry is in shambles and in your estimation FIT NO DEY TRY LIKE THE POLICE and nearly every sphere of society wears a cloak of uncertainty. but then who are you to COMPLAIN, ask the policeman and fireman on the streets about their welfare and friend you will weep for this nation. So fellow, my summation is this, the GENTLEMEN OF NIGERIAN PRESS DEY TRY WELLA |
I've been thinking and really thinking. First a recent report ranking NL among the top 200 forums globally and a subscriber base of nearly half a million users. what is the economic value of nairaland? I was joking with a friend recently that overall viewpoints and popular decisions on this forum can be channelled to appropriate quarters. I believe it can be done subtly and gradually incrementally ultimately moving this forum from arm-chair critiquing to a formidable and influential pressure group. This is the age of the media evolution. this forum is well positioned to cause a desired change all it takes folks is BELIEF. |
@fb. my bruva u never can say; great things start from small beginning. like play like play; nairaland enter top 200 global forums. u never know whether seun don dey enter Aso rock on our behalf dey collect contract. tomorrow nairaland go dey valued at 1 billion dollars like facebook and we go dey ask how come |
i suggest some commemoration, requiem be done after all this nearly a state with these figures, 418727 members and 287207 Topics |
who can forget zaire in 74 world cup; reserved more than a handful of sealt for jazzmen instead of technical crew. the rest is history, yugoslavia wire them 9-0 for their last match. the sad irony was this; zaire were africa's best and the continent was searching for an extra slot. |
Nigeria fashion show pioneer and style.com host Nicholas Anukanti is dead. Real sad loss, i knew the hardworking broadcaster way back with his campus show programme in the late 90's just b4 he delved into fashion and lifestyle. i remember he spawned a revolution of local fashion TV skits and programmes with Galaxy television; off course remember Miss galaxy. One thing i remember vividly is the impression he left on me following a conversation i heard with him 3 years ago; he left me reeling on the walkway. his mind was a fecund Broadway of programme ideas. terribly sad he had to go this early |
