Other points to note are... The Consular / Interviewer having a bad day

The Consular / Interviewer trying NOT to exceed the daily apportioned visa quota.

Sometimes, there's very little you can do when trying to obtain a Tourist (B1/B2 U.S Visas). The decisions by the Consular are mostly subjective as compared to a Student (F-1/F-1/J-1 Visas etc...) which are more based on merits and individdual qualifications.
