@Godzilla, i paid into a corporate account (Imarosa Nigeria Enterprise) and I had been communicating with him through the customer care line advertised on his site. |
Fellow Nigerians, I want to seek your help in asking ozbulksms.com, a purported bulk sms gateway provider, to deliver my bulk sms reseller site. I learnt about the bulk sms business and its potential profitability, and I decided to invest to augment the proceeds I make from my computer service center as an undergrad. I searched online for service providers and I came across ozbulksms.com. I called the owner, and he assured me of the efficiency of his platform and urged me to buy a reseller package from him. I later paid 17,000 naira into his account (Imarosa Nigeria Enterprise - Access Bank) for the premium package advertised on his site and notified him of payment. He assured me that my site would be active in 3 working days after which I sent him my domain name (I would later send him 3 more domain names). All these happened between 27th and 30th November. Up till today, ozbulksms.com has not delivered my site. His reasons - the network is slow, the domain name did not register (upon which he will ask for another domain name), background work needs to be done on the site. After I called him to register my displeasure at the unusually long time it was taking him to deliver (then 2 weeks), he rebuked me for impatience and got annoyed that I wanted the site, for which I had paid him 17,000, in a hurry. Since then, he has deliberately refused to pick my calls and has ignored all my text messages. I have since contacted the Edo State Police Command and the Zonal Office of the EFCC and I am confident in their capacity. I am asking any nairalander who knows him to ask him to save himself the impending embarrassment and deliver my site or refund my money. His office address and phone contacts are displayed on his site www.ozbulksms.com. Please be very careful when doing business with ozbulksms.com. He is fraudulent! |
Let me answer your first question - In the Sermon on the Mount, Christ declared: “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5). There are two misconceptions commonly connected with this passage. First, the nature of meekness is misunderstood. Second, some contend that the verse speaks of a future, eternal abode upon the earth. To many, “meekness” suggests the idea of passivity, someone who is easily imposed upon, spinelessness, weakness. Since Jesus declared Himself to be meek (Matthew 11:29), some perceive Him as a sissy-type character. Nothing could be further from the truth. In the Greek New Testament, “meek” is from the Greek term praus. It does not suggest weakness; rather, it denotes strength brought under control. The ancient Greeks employed the term to describe a wild horse tamed to the bridle. In the biblical sense, therefore, it describes one who has channeled his strengths into the service of God. Underline the word in Matthew 5:5, and in the margin of your Bible write: See Numbers 12:3; Zephaniah 2:3. The former passage describes Moses as the meekest man on earth — certainly no weakling; the latter verse declares that the meek of the earth are those who have kept Jehovah’s ordinances. The meek person submits to God! As to the expression “inherit the earth,” the following facts should be noted: (1) God is the owner of this earth (Psalm 24:1). (2) Those who obey Christ become children of God (Galatians 3:27; Hebrews 5:9), and “joint-heirs” with the Lord (Romans 8:17). (3) The Father supplies all our needs (Philippians 4:19), we therefore enjoy this earth and its blessings more than all others. (4) Mainly, however, our inheritance is spiritual (Acts 20:32); we are heirs in the kingdom of Christ (Ephesians 5:5), and citizenship in that kingdom is available now on this earth (cf. John 3:3-5; Colossians 1:13). (5) Finally, we also look for an inheritance that is reserved for us in heaven (1 Peter 1:4), because we are aware that the earth will be destroyed when Christ returns (2 Peter 3:10). Thus, underline “inherit the earth,” and make some appropriate notations in your margin. |
It is important to note that no religion can lay claim to teaching the whole truth. Therefore any anachronistic application of false doctrines or beliefs should be equally shared. For instance, the RCC killed and displaced many during the inquisition and imperial persecutions, likewise the JW also made some erroneous predictions and prophesies - 1914; 1915 Etc. That was in the past! Today, many religious sects and denominations still teach false and unbiblical doctrines. For example, the RCC offend against the first commandment by their idolatrous practice of image worship. Also, the RCC still deify and approach God through so-called saints, although Jesus stressed that we can only approach God through Him. I would spare the conjectures of a non existent purgatory, confession to a priest who forgives with penance (usually saying the Lord's prayer 20 times) - these are all unbiblical teachings. It is equally unbiblical for the JW to deceive members into believing that only 144,000 would go to heaven while the rest will reign on earth, clearly this is false as Jesus said that those who believed in him will inherit the kingdom of heaven. Again, it is illogical and an insult on our collective psyche to say that Jesus went to 'arrange' things in heaven, throwing Satan down in 1914. This presupposes a disorganized and imperfect heaven, occupied by an organized and perfect God, who was with Jesus all through his earthly ministry from that same heavenly kingdom. Obviously, it is a figment of the imagination to replace failed prophecies. Again, the witnesses deny the Godship of Jesus, even after Jesus had clearly stated his oneness with the Father. This false teaching is propagated through the NWT version of the bible. Having studied the biblical languages, especially NT Greek grammar, i can boldly say that the NWT is an eccentric version used to manipulate the gullible mentality of blind witnesses - no offence pls! But even if you are offended, that's your cup of tea and plate of beans! |
If you sincerely think that the Muslim world made no positive contribution to the modern world, then prove your point and stop making shallow arguments. Though I'm a Christian, i still appreciate the contribution of the Muslim world. Example, our numeral system - did you know? |
Of all the square, circular, spherical, triangular and even rectangular meals, breakfast is considered king. Share your breakfast experience today. For me, it was beans porridge and soaked garri with all its allied condiments.....what about you? |
Was there no way to alert the police or other security agents, or are the police better at confirming incidents? Why must issues like this come up before 'measures' are put in place to forestall a reoccurence? Just asking..... |

The young man you see in these photos is John Obot, a 300 level education student of the University of Uyo. During this ASUU strike action, he goes round secondary schools talking to young people about the dangers of substance abuse and addiction. With his NGO, the DAT FREE GENERATION INITIATIVE ( DAT means D - drugs, A - alcohol, T - tobacco), he organizes Addiction Awareness Campaigns across schools where he even demonstrates the effect of alcohol on the liver. So far he has touched about 12 schools and still counting. He says he derives joy and fulfilment from what he is doing and urges Nigerian students to find a way to impact society during this strike instead of waiting lazily for an uncertain ASUU.

This post reminds me of mariama ba's '' So Long a Letter.'' inspiring though! |
Great article........ |
Why are some folks talking like strangers? We are talking about TOP 100 varsities in the WORLD and some are mentioning this and that...... Candidly, you and I should know that most, if not all, Nigerian varsities are glorified secondary schools. Nigerian universities should all be revamped in three areas 1. Infrastructures 2. Manpower and 3. Curriculum content and instructional planning. Then you have the years of experience needed to qualify. Before our varsities make it there it will possibly equally take 100 years to be among the first 100 varsities in the world. |
Nice and interesting post......very inspiring |
@serry how do you know that you don't leave yours AJAR? |

Despite efforts by concerned onlookers and workmen from NigerPet Structures, a raging fire has just terribly burnt an audi car along Iko Ekpene Road in Uyo. The incidence happened at about 11 am beside the PDP party secretariat axis of the road. Artisans and commuters who battled helplessly with the fire, as there were less than a few fire extinguishers available, tried severally to reach men of the State Fire Service but it was futile.

I must tell you the truth, my friend. Your whole lecture series points to one direction, confusion and clueless rambling. Your pitiable grammar, you illogical connection of facts, nay, opinions and your lack of originality of thought renders your write up fictitious. Stop this useless propaganda and look at those projects critically, they do not merit even a clap in slow-motion after six years of dull leadership. Borrow a lesson from Akwa Ibom state, and then you will understand what it means to transform a place. |

I don't believe in praising someone for doing what he ought to do. Before contesting, GEJ knew that as president, he would be expected to construct roads, schools etc. So lets not make it seem as if he has offered us a privilege, when you and I know it is the duty of his office. |
Hmmmmmm |
The guys are cool. The ladies are even cooler. Kudos man! |
emyibe: ANOTHER LAW FOR THE POORmy dear don't just condemn the law. Its for our safety. It must not necessarily be the corps officers on the roads that will effectively enforce this law alone. You and I owe ourselves the duty of care, and thus the right to caution any driver that seems to offend this law or outright report to the authorities. Just remembered that poor people in Nigeria don't often have cars. |
