Sylverly: thanks so much..initially I thought one could go for 91 days, get your invested money and the 10% interest at a go.. Then re invest..now, I understand how it works, on this ground I think 364 days would be better ..what's your say on this? after every 91 days you can ask the bank to turn it over...meaning they will buy you another 91days bill and give you your interest |

Sylverly: Please gurus!! Would like to be clarified on this issue. If I decide to go for that of 91 days maturity, does it mean after 91 days of investing I would get my invested cash and ccomplete lets say 10% interest.. Or is the 10% paid at interval, throughout the year. you'll likely get your 10%p.a. upfront and get your principal back after 91 days |

If you state your own rate and it's not lower than the accepted bid rate by CBN, then you get nothing. Going with the bank bid rate ensures you get whatever the bank gets and the bank always gets something |

atilla: I received two warrants the first on I can't find anymore the second on tore. Before I lost the first one I tried to cash in my dom account I was told if I pay in the cheque I would be charged 30dollars for clearing so it wasn't worth payin the cheque since it was about 37 dollars.
Hey guys how true is the quote above? Has any one been able to successfully cash their dividend warrants. The registrars don't have a website for me to even get more info. ETI dividend warrants are payable in $ cash over the counter at any Ecobank branch nearest to you. dont waste your time paying into bank account unless you have an Ecobank $ account oh btw, you can get a duplicate warrant from them to replace the ones you have mishandled |

Any way to get to registrars website please note that First registrar is not the registrar to Ecobank, ETI or Oceanic banks EDC located at Onipan Lagos is the registrar and you can go to them for your account reconciliation and outstanding dividend warrants |

if you're buying shares for dividend payments only...then you're not ready for real investment...the question is, how much did you pay for the shares and how much are they worth now? plain and simple |

kotlass: If you indicated that it was an individual account, then it could be a regulatory requirement. A sort of KYC, though I doubt this is the case. Clarify with the customer rep. For me, it is not a biggie though. I don't have to visit my bank to produce that in a jiffy. I doubt if it's a regulatory thing...bankers confirmation of signature is what I know of that can be used as part of kyc...not my bank statement A broker only needs my account number for fund remittances after sales and a banker's confirmation of my signature says I own that account number with that bank...that's all the regulatory requirement there is |

Avantajj: Let us try to improve the quality of this forum towards creating an enabling environment that guides us in making the right trade decisions and also tries to predict the direction of the market as a whole.
Further, the thought did occur to me at some point that members of this forum could be united in action; to sail our investments in the same direction such that we could impact any particular stock (small ones of course) and guide it's outcome.
However, this thought started to fade away when I started realizing the short level of some of the investors here (pls this is not criticism) i.e. a young starter with a goatee holding a N50,000 portfolio. This kind of investor would be inadequate for carrying out our goal.
Maybe if we had more expert investors here and more investors with N5m portfolios maybe 20 in number and they were united in that singular course of action then we could actually bet on sure things!
Not a bad idea...but it can't be done through a faceless forum like this.. |
