dtruth3: It's going on now, 2015 Elections Debates/Town Hall Meeting, and the APC representative is missing. present are.... 1. Hope Democratic Party(HOPE) 2. United Progresive Party(UPP) 3. Kowa Party(KOWA) and 4. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
All this parties have their party agents represented to answer questions, and defend their party manifesto. But surprisingly, the All Progressive Congress (APC) did not send any representative, neither was any explanation given for their absence.
Please watch it now on NTA, its going on live! of course NTA is owned by the PDP goverment and the only credible opposition they have is APC so its no surprise they did not invite APC to the shenanigan they're calling debate |

I tried opening a page on my browser whilst connected to the hotspot, it never opened. The phone was on mtn bis with simple server...because my glo won't work on it (unchanged imei). mtn BIS only works on BB devices that run the old OS...OS7.1 and below...MTN BIS doesnt work on androids and BB10 devices |

Sorry about that....are you sure the hotspot was set up properly on the other phones and you connected properly from the z10? You will know you have done the above properly if you can open BlackBerry world and browse on the z10 before you attempt to download the update. If you're able to browse and do other stuff, that tells you there data exchange between the devices |

DealMogul: It is apparent you don't understand my explanation given earlier...I would have preferred that you asked for clarification...
I never implied that Chen has a DIRECT impact on the final retail price of the Classic in Nigeria. What I implied was that the singular act of setting a RRP of $449 for a mid-range device aimed primarily at business people is a fail.
When you set a high RRP for such a device what do you expect after shocks like currency devaluation and continental policies (customs e.t.c.) affect the final retail price?
Or do you mean to say that Microsoft is doing something magical to bring down the RRP of their own mid-range devices?
Take for example the Lumia brand which we can say isn't as pervasive as Blackberry in many continents. What Microsoft is doing is to fix the RRP for mid-range devices as low as possible such that it can get sold in droves. That is a strategy.
Our argument that the Classic is a premium device is completely false, please. It is a MID RANGE device. If it was premium, it would have a chassis made of toughened aluminium and the innards would sport top-of-the-line specs (13MP back camera, over 2.0 GHz processing speed and 3-4Gb RAM are now the norm for premium devices. You can check into this...)
I repeat and stand to be corrected, Blackberry is struggling to fly of the shelves. I repeated this because it appears you missed that part of my earlier argument even though this is common knowledge both in the tech world and with consumers. I wouldn't even go as far as doing a poll 'cos I know the outcome...
I'm not a Blackberry basher (wording mine); far from it, I am a super fan of the BBOS ahead of even Android OS. However, I am no blind fan, and I wouldn't shy away from saying the truth when it's meant to be said...
The pricing of the Classic is wrong, just as the pricing of the Z10 at initial launch...Trust me, you don't need a soothsayer to tell that the RRP of the Classic will go south before the end of the year...not because of massive sales but 'cos of minimal sales... your opinion or mine on how much the phone should sell is irrelevant and has no effect on anything....and the price of any device goes south with time as a natural course of its life cycle so you're not exactly shedding any wisdoms there BlackBerry; the company has never been known to price their devices like Tecno and its not the business of the company to worry about currency shocks in Nigeria or anywhere else for that matter if BB is struggling to fly off the shelf, how come its over priced here in Nigeria? if no one is buying how are the kongas of this world selling at the exploitative price they're selling it? that is just one example so consider yourself corrected |
Politics › Re: Nigeria Signed Pact To Import Refined Oil Under Buhari's Regime (NY Times 1984) by walcolm(m): 7:59am On Jan 21, 2015 |
Kenai: Did you know that under Buhari's administration, Nigeria signed a pact to export unrefined crude oil to other countries and then import the finished products afterwards?
This 1984 news article from The New York Times lays it bare! http://www.nytimes.com/1984/03/14/business/brazil-wins-nigeria-pact.html it's amazing how much stupidity runs in the GEJ camp...whoever you are and whatever you have been paid to twist the truth, it won't work under Buhari, the signed pact you have posted was for Brazil to refine our crude (because the refineries had failed under the corrupt leadership of shagari) and return the finished product to us NOT SELL the finished product to Nigeria. Brazil will then charge Nigeria 'SERVICE CHARGE' for the job you can try to twist the truth but it still wont work |

Phones › Re: Blackberry 10 Devices Home: Z10, Q10 Etc by walcolm(op): 9:07pm On Jan 20, 2015 |
DealMogul: Let me correct you dear walcom. Chen has everything to do with the price of the Classic. You've answered yourself inadvertently. Chen sets the RRP at $449 which is about N80k for a mid-range device that is struggling to compete...how many mid-range Android and WP devices do you see at that RRP point?
Please if you know any at that price give evidence otherwise ignore my comment and stop being (unnecessarily) pissed!
You set a RRP at N80k in Europe/America...add landing costs and you think the final retail cost will not go sky high at stores? Spare me you perplexity abeg...
Many fans are looking to see the Classic flying off shelves and not sticking to them like gum to paper becos of poor pricing... I would have not bothered to revisit this discussion but for your opening statement in bold above The definition of RRP....recommended retail price is the price at which an item is sold to the final consumer...as far as I know, Jumia, Konga, slot et al distribute devices so they won't get the devices at the price an end user will get it. They will get at distributor prices and are free to add their margin...in regulated markets like NA and Europe, consumer protection agencies can ensure consumers are not extorted...not the case in a jungle like nigeria So I still repeat, the 110k set by marketers in Nigeria has nothing to do with John Chen The classic is not a flagship hardware wise but it's a premium device. $449 at the time the device was released and listed at 110k on Jumia comes to just 75k at 165/$. Maybe Chen is also responsible for the devaluation of the Naira? |

You go charge tire. Call or whatsapp me on 08033863100 or 08077377940. a 30k mAh power bank should be able to charge a BB at least 10x before requiring a recharge...if yours can only charge 4x, then there's a problem |

DealMogul: Oga Chen fall people hand o...It seems they're trying hard to sell of Blackberry.
How can a device like Classic be N110,000 for heaven sakes? Competing with what phone sef, iPhone 6? The price of a flagship...bad angle Stuff like this leave me perplexed and pissed....what has Chen got to do with the price of the classic in Nigeria? The recommended retail price at launch was $449 which comes to about 80k even at an exchange rate of 180 to the dollar |
