go to 'SETTINGS' -> 'SOFTWARE UPDATE' and check if you have any update available

1. restart your device and check if that solves the problem
2. check BB World for update to BBM if you are not on the latest version
3. if that doesnt solve the problem, update your device OS to the latest version and check for BBM update once that's done

Hello all, a great day to you all, i just got a z10 mainly cos of glo's 1k for 3g plan and cos my sis was selling it cheap . This is the 2nd BB im using and i really had a horrid experience with the first(a BB storm) which made me stick to droids. I've encountered some issues im hoping you all can help me rectify. Thanks as you do so.
1) She has her BB id on it already, how do i edit and fix mine.
2) I've used Gmail apps on all my devices with ease, but couldnt find it on BB's apps world. Can i download from a drop box and hopes it work?
3) Uc web browser is my fav browser but it isnt on apps world, can i be recommended to a browser that works as well as it/
4) I checked for softwaare update and saw that i should update to BB 10 OS latest 10.2.1 OS with size 978mb . Is all well?

welcome to BB10...i used the storm and i loved it but i do understand why you would have had a few challenges with it back then...well, this is BB10 and its a completely different beast from what you used to know about BBs

1. you have to wipe the phone to get rid of your sister's ID and then you get a fresh slate to start on...if you have been using BBM on your last droid, i will suggest you use the same BBID you used in setting up that BBM, it will move all your BBM contacts to the Z10 and you wont have to go through the stress of re-adding your friends

2. you dont need gmail app on BB10, just set up your gmail account and you should be able to get all your gmails real time

3. you can install the UC browser apk on a BB10 device but i tell you, the stock BB10 browser is currently the king of mobile browsers interms of performance and it has been on the throne for almost two years and has not been knocked off

4. yes, major OS updates are quite large and you will need a wifi (mobile hotspot from another phone will suffice) to download and install the latest version...you can also use a pc with fast internet connection and BB Link to do the update

You can't uninstall...which OS version are you on? If you're not on the latest, I suggest you install the latest official OS version for your device

That tells you the person who sold it must have done so because of the faulty battery. If you're lucky, a simple software upgrade might fix the problem otherwise you're stuck with a defective hardware

i just tried to replicate what you tried to do and i noticed your cursor was still in the text box!!!!

the send button is only activated after you tap the pin below the text box to confirm the characters typed represent a PIN, that is only when the send button becomes active

how many BBM contacts do you have? a stress test was conducted on the BBM on BB10 in 2013 and it shows you could have up to 2000 BBM contacts before you start noticing any slow downs

i'm surprised you are unable to add contact...have you tried to use other means of adding contacts?

The forgot pattern option shows email and password which she doesn't have cos it was second hand and the ones she entered ain't working...

Keep entering the wrong pattern and after sometime the device will prompt you to use password

If that one fails after 5 tries, the phone will wipe and you'll be able to access it

The -1 models are usually for MEA networks where 4G gsm technology has not yet been implemented
