you have 533MB free on both RAM and Storage from what you posted....strange coincidence but that's what it is

you have no control over what goes on with the 2GB RAM so that's not what i'm talking about

You can see you only have 533mb of free space on the internal memory. The OS update file requires over 1gb to download, then another 1gb to unpack install before deleting the download file.

Delete all deletables and restart the phone...then open your file manager and navigate to device/misc folder...delete everything in there and restart the phone again then check how much space you have left

Don't worry, any app you delete will be available for you to reinstall from BlackBerry world

My device memory says 7.4 out of 8gb used. All my music,pics n songs r in my microSD though it's only 4gb.
Also my phone always says 2 update OS but it also says 2 free some internal memory be4 I can do thar n it's my apps that take d space. I deleted all d apps except the ones that come with the phone but still there wasn't enough memory 4 d update. I don't know what else occupies the phone memory spacem
Do u think the update has something 2 do with the BBM issues??

You need at least 2gb of free space to do update....post screen shots of what apps you have installed...I'm sure you can easily find lots of apps to uninstall to allow the update and the reinstall after the update

legacy BlackBerry OS is referred to as BBOS as you mentioned while the new OS is called BB10...that distinction is made by those of us who are interested enough and tech savvy enough to know the difference in the two

...for the average joe and jane who just want to use their BB, they really don't care...they just know its a blackberry and all cats are grey in the dark to them

Nairaland site doesn't have that feature...besides, this is just a thread....Seun will have to designate a BB section on nairaland for us to have many threads in the section and we can then create some stickies that newbies can quickly reference for the most basic questions

depends on which complete package you bought...Airtel now has some complete packages that won't work on devices that are not OLD SCHOOL BB (OS4,5,6,7 & 7.1) e.g. the 3GB for #1,400

check that you have not run out of internal memory....make sure your docs, music, video and pictures are not on your internal memory eating up all the space

if you dont have a microSD in your device, get one, at least a 32GB

please my glo 3gb 1k subscription is supposed to expire on 11th February but i got a message the day before yesterday that my subscription is expired. i bought another 1k recharge card and tried to load it but since yesterday i have not been able to.........please any ideas what the problem is, thanks also is there a way i can browse on my bbz3 without BIS?

what error message are you getting? you dont need BIS on BB10 devices...any data source works

A new OS will drop this February so I'll suggest you chill for a little while...you can go to settings, software update to check for the latest official OS available for your phone

in BB10, OS updates can be done OTA (Over-The-Air) but you will need to be connected to a wifi network not just your mobile data network...

if you choose to use a PC, you need internet connection on your laptop, BlackBerry Link software installed and a USB cable to connect your phone to the PC

THERE ARE NO LINK to OFFICIAL BB10 OS UPDATES....links are only available if you want to install leaked OS files

its possible the glo bis coverage in your area is having some issues but there's the general drop in Glo BIS data service especially now that the bulk of BB10 users are still using the glo BIS to drive their devices

i will suggest you drop your network mode to 2G whenever the signal deteriorates

Has anyone noticed that the BBM STICKERS are more expensive on the BB platform than on the android?....stickers on BB10 are priced at $X.99 but the same stickers on my android BBM are either $X.68 or $X.58

Actually der's 4G in Nigeria, and nt just 4G, its the Long Term Evolution (LTE). Ask about Swift networks, dey offer 4G wth LTE on select plans, Spectranet too, buh nt sure if it has LTE. All dese in select states in Nigeria dou.

there's no 4G network in Nigeria....if all you're getting is 3g or 2g then you probably dont have data...if you have data you should be seeing 3G, EDGE or H+ with the Blackberry Logo beside it

gloflat does not use BIS data...if you dont have free recharge MB or other data plan, glo will be billing you on PAYG basis using that APN

I thought I was the only one experiencing glo data issues since morning... I just restarted and got back service

That's strange....been using glo bis for as long as I can remember. If it's a new subscription you have to be patient for it to be activated...could take a few minutes or 48 hrs

You need to set the same apn you have on your droid on the bb10 for the airtel bis to work
