how is it true, clarify pls cos i have checked out the specification and the highest spec'd A2 has 1GB RAM, 1.2GHz quadcore

all the others are spec'd much lower with most of them having only 512MB RAM

there are basically 4 models of the Z10 all over the world. 100-1, 100-2, 100-3 and 100-4

100-1 is the international version but not designed for LTE since its LTE availability is still mostly available in North America and Japan
100-2 is the model you will find in the UK and most part of Europe and the USA and LTE capable
100-3 is mostly available in USA and LTE capable
100-4 is for CDMA networks

so if your friend got the 100-2 or 100-3, it will show 4G even though we don't have LTE networks in Nigeria...anything higher than 3G network will show up as 4G on them but on your 100-1, the same network will show up as 3G or H+

as far as raw hardware specs go, S4 is hands down stronger than iphone5 and Z10 but at the end of the day, you're not buying the phone just for the sake of hardware spec otherwise you might want to go for Note 3...there is no other mobile phone hardware anywhere on this planet that comes close to the Note3

you have to decide which mobile ecosystem you are more comfortable with because the 3 phones you are considering are completely different ecosystems

Android, IOS and Blackberry 10 (note that Blackberry10 is completely different from the previous Blackberry)

as far as apps are concerned, you can find everything you need to get by on all three platforms which is why you have to decide what is going to drive your decision, hardware spec or mobile experience that you are comfortable with.

all three can give you the mobile experience you desire if you know how to use them

If you're a geek, you won't make the assumption that the BlackBerry 10 will be slow. You would check them out

You need to use wi-fi to get the update

However, there are still some issues that I'm not yet clear on. According to Walcolm, we can update our phone over mobile internet by changing data limitation in the Blackberry World. Some people still complain that this does not really solve the problem. I understand there is a workaround where u connect to any wifi at all even without the wifi key n the phone will download with the mobile internet once it fails to use the wifi (bcoz of course without the key it has no access)

Also the problem with name id that displays when u get message n call will be solved with update 10.2.

With this I am ready to buy my first BB device ever but still, just one question, if I decide to save a lil and get a london used z10, will I be able to update to new versions of the os? I really need this, thanks

all BB10 devices can update to any new version of the BB10 OS...we are not android or apple
the phone/sms name issue has been resolved
BB10 OS updates can be as large as 1GB and i have heard of 1.5GB which would burn down your data if you are not on a generous data allowance like airtel and Glo in Nigeria. these devices are used all over the world and data caps are not so large in many places, that's one of the reasons OS updates usually require a separate wifi

BTW...not being able to download updates via cellular data is not peculiar to BB...

I use Airtel and glo bis...between 1000 and 3000 for 2gb to 6gb data

It's not glo, the device has built in breaks to help you not burn your data downloading updates because the updates could be large. if your data cap is low, you might end up exhausting it and still not finish downloading

To remove the breaks, go to BlackBerry World, swipe down from the top. Select setting and tap network and data limits

Set the two options you see there to remove limits

@lagdude, BB10 devices don't hang....if for any reason you wish to restart the phone, just press and hold the power button at the top and you will see 3 options...to shutdown, lock and restart

meemich234: Bbm is virtually the number one real time messaging app in the world so obviously android users were expectant...no one had an issue with the app (bbm)...the issue was and will always be with the device(blackberry)...without the bbm that device is as good as a jukebox.....bt dat can't be said for android phones
