D.A.V.E:try to keep your post intelligent...Samsung GS4 has not started selling |
haven't noticed any slowdown in the network |
justfree.:yeah, the update can range from 117MB to as high as 800MB |
you apparently don't understand what number portability is about. you should take time to read up on some of the other threads where its been broken down rather than starting a thread and exposing your ignorance ![]() |
does the airtel BB plan still work on other devices? |
henry007: funny how no one wld show u the pack without paying unless u wait and see someone else buy it.looollll...that happens only in naija..but its safe to say the ones rolling out right now wont have the update pre-installed. by the time Q10 is released to the market, you can be sure this current inventory should have been exhausted. |
just4sola: @Dennthe first thing you need to have is a stable wifi...the update is about 800mb. if the Etisalat sim doesn't give you an update, try a UK sim even if the sim is outdated, it will still detect an update for you |
@justfree, Great feedback and thanks for being objective. If you're a gamer, you're in luck with bb10 and there are lots of them already. Native and android ports alike |
henry007: Felt this fone once....amazing fluidity. Are there upgraded ones in the store hate to have to go download a file of 700mb. Pls is it also possible to upgrade OTA?it is possible to update OTA provided you have a good wifi because of the size of the update. i think the current inventory will require the update since they were manufactured before the update was released but i believe fresh ones coming off the line will have the latest OS version pre-installed so you might get lucky to get one with the latest update. luckily, the pack shows what version of the OS is pre-installed so you'll know before opening the pack |
Whatsapp for BB10 has been released for about 2 weeks now, it requires a minimum of OS 10.0.10.xxxx as mentioned earlier by @henryskywalker |
henryskywalker2003: Not talking about reviews but real life experiences here.I meant end user reviews on bbw...you know those app reviews you can find on the app Page in the store from people who have installed that app? |
@puskin, You made an allusion that the z10 is expensive for no reason and my question to our you was, if you say there's no reason for it to be priced at 100k, does that mean there's a reason for iphone to be priced at 170k? |
luluosas: I don't think you are correct. Maybe you are in a 2G covered area and therefore, you can't use 3G in such circumstances. Thank you.You don't think? It's amazing that you'd make an ignorant statement like that based on just your thoughts rather than facts. Just to clear your mind I am in lagos and if it's not a 3G area, I'm wondering where 3G lives. I called glo blackberry helpdesk and was told z10 midmonth plan will on work when I set my network mode to 2G. I did that and that was only when I started getting data signal |
puskin: So even as expensive as it is for no apparent reason whatsoever, they are trying to tell me that the Z10 is heavily discounted.if Z10 is expensive, iPhone is what? ![]() |
--------Post updated 3rd October------ For those now on the z10, Q10, Q5 and now Z30 devices running on the new blackberry 10 OS, post your requests, observations here. Been using one since March 2013 and I can help you with questions you may have ![]() DATA PLAN FULL BIS will still work with no problem on AIRTEL AND GLO..Stay strictly away from MTN and Etisalat Stay away from 'Social' Plans on all networks....they don't work COMPLETE, Unlimited and Absolute plans should work because if there's any restrictions its probably only the no of email addresses you can register on BIS but BB10 doesn't handle email with BIS. i use this particular BIS flavor on Glo and Airtel and i can confirm they work flawlessly UPDATE: I have a first hand experience that Glo BB COMPLETE PLAN work with no problem Check Page 24 for the new Glo BIS plans and code New BB10 Data plans, STAY AWAY from GLO BB10 MIDMONTH plan, it has been placed on 2G network to block video and audio streaming The great news is BB10 will run on any normal data plan for andriods, iPhone, mifi etc so we dont even need the crappy BB10 plans being introduced by the networks APPS there are over 350k BB10 apps on BB World...you can find anything you need on there Sideloading Check the last post on this page and the first post on Page 23 Downloading files using BB10 browser Check Page 5 Others Check Page 10 for videos highlighting BB10 features Check Page 23 for more information about BB10 OS and devices Check the top of Page 38 for BB World settings so you can download files larger than 50mb |
Z10 owners, stay away from glo network. They have put z10 on 2g to block voice and video calling. If you set your device on 3g, it won't work |
are you having a problem with your current OS version? on safety, so long as the OS you download is an official version from a GSM network, then you should be fine unless your BB is a CDMA version in which case you want to be downloading an official version from a CDMA network for your BB Desktop Mgr to tell you there's an update available, you need to download the OS from the internet, install it on your PC and when you plug your BB to the PC, DM will notice the newer version of the OS available and inform you of the upgrade |
i dont think having a phone means you're well off unless you're still one of those who think a phone is a status symbol apart from a good chunk of those 113m active lines inclusive of individuals who own multiples lines, the ones owned by those who live on $2 or less a day doesnt require daily maintenance. in this day and age, to keep a phone line active only requires you to receive at least on sms over a 90day period. with the barrage of sms advertising, its almost impossible for any line ever activated to become dormant |
Arogba: That's the point, Nigeria is a multi-siming environment so MNP does not really change anything. I personally have 5 sims, it will be a crazy idea to start porting on other networks.you accummulated 5 sims because you were not getting the best service from the different networks...there are people out there who have only one sim, they are not getting a good enough service from their current network but have been reluctant to get another sim because they dont want to go thru the trouble of telling people they now use another number those type of people will benefit from the system. all that said, availability of options and alternative recourse is much better than lack of it. so whether people use the port option or not, we are better off with it available than it not being available |
thepreacherson: Its not a new PlayBook bro. Please i need the latest OS download link. Thanksyou can easily get the latest PBOS on blackberry.com |
jimihendrix: I need the link to any football game. Plscheck the games section of the BBW. |
@OP, Mont Serrat is in Spain and you need a schengen to enter spain...pls modify your list Good job though |
vincent09: Hello...I have downloaded the bb desktop did my back up den clicked on update but I got a display "updates not available" pls someone help Asapdo u have Blackberry desktop manager software installed? if you do, install the OS update you downloaded on your PC. once install has finished, you run the desktop manager application again and when you plug your BB to your PC, the PC will inform you there's a newer device software for you BB |
its only available for BB10 devices. searched with OS7.1 and PBOS 2.1 and couldnt find it for those |
i got a call from them that i should come and re-register my sim too. their reason was that they lost some of the sim registration data they gathered previously |
i suppose you're agitated because your money is not returning to you as fast as you want and that's understandable. if i was in your shoes, i'd be pissed too but you dont need to word your thread as if they have refused to refund your money. because of the high level of online transaction fraud, these things take time. i used quickteller.com to recharge my phone a while ago (quickteller is an online portal owned by interswitch/verve, the same company that issued my card). the transaction failed due to some system problem..you'd think my refund would be instant right? it took almost a month and several calls to fbn to get the money back into my account. i actually stopped calling after about 2 weeks and the money eventually dropped back into my account a month after the transaction so like an earlier poster said, chillax ...just keep following up with them especially on facebook and twitter and your money will come back eventually |
daddy g: Goodday all, just got my playbook must say am very impressed with it , updated in 25min, got some apps from the app world ( pretty lame ones) and did a couple of sideloads, I really need the good stuffsyou're saying you've looked thru the 100k plus apps on BBWorld? |
thepreacherson: please guys i just got My bbplaybook an it crashed while i was wiping it. Now am having trouble getting a valid download link to download the os on My phone or pc. Please kindly help me with a valid download link for My playbook 32gb. Am very grateful.when you wipe a Blackberry device, it restores to factory settings. on a PB, you need to have internet access via wifi when its done wiping so it can verify it has the latest software and download. Just a curious question, why were u wiping a new PB? |
ozone-3:so because blackberry can't challenge Apple and Android, they are dead? can people be this ignorant? |
trae_z: Dude "Sent from my XXDeviceNameXX" is a standard for almost all mobile devices, android BB etc. and doesn't show much as even illiterates like the NSCDC Oga at the top use Blackberrys.i am responding to your post only for the benefit of the OP. have you ever wondered why iPhone, iPad, HTC, Sony, Nokia and Samsung devices now include a similar signature line when you send an email using their devices? i'll tell you why, after BLACKBERRY created that signature line and those other companies all know the the actual message that very simple, iconic signature line carries across about the person sending the message. So they had to put a similar line in their devices' email application so their customers can be considered serious minded business people the way Blackberry users are viewed in the world of serious business are you saying you're smarter than all the Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Oxford and Cambridge graduates who have worked for and still work in those multi-billion dollar phone manufacturing companies? @OP, the choice is your what you do with your device i just hope you wont allow ignorant people pull you down to their decadent depth |
