greatgod2012: my brother, no argument here, women talk more than men, but not applicable to everyone, some men are talkatives, they talk far more than men, and in my first post in this thread, i said it depends on some factors like personality, temprament, heredity and enviroment. For example, i have some pple around me that i can cite as examples of those who talks far more than their females counterparts.........first of all, i have only a girl, and she seems to be d most quiet among others, while d boys can almost kill me with different types of discussion, she always look at them and sometimes call them talkatives, shes very quite and wise, someone told me that her being wise is as a result of her quiteness.
Secondly, my elder brother, our firstborn.....chai, if that one go for competition of talkatives comprising only women, i bet it, no woman can get that prize, he fit talk, ehn, sometimes, we even try to avoid visiting him, because, he fit kill person with "ejo wewe"
thirdly, my boss.....chai, im yet to see a woman who can talk more than her, fortunately, im able to know d wife,,,,,,hhhm... She is as gentle as dove, i tell you, my oga, we dont live in his house, but i tell you, all of us know what happens in his house thru him, there is nothing he cant say, i have never seeing him sitting alone meditating, he must be in d midst of pple gisting everyday, to d extent that its even affecting his performance and effectiveness in our place of work. Let me stop here, now, op, no need to crucify me, my comment was based on some men i see around me.........and as for me.......i talk more than my hubby.....lol
May God help us all

There are some men though!!!!! Hmmmmmm My God!!!!! They can talk hen!!! I cant stand talkative men and there are quite a number of them here on NL. I love the mystery of a man, when he is staring forward and you are wondering what he is thinking.

I love the way I yap yap yap about everything and nothing especially when I am reporting someone/something to him or complaining about something and he only has 2 or 3 solid, meaningful but very heavy sentences to calm me down kiss
My sister you have indeed spoken well.I only decided not to argue with greatgod2012 on her opinion because that's what she feels. But on a serious note,it is hard to find 2 out of 15 men who talk 3times more than women. It's there for us to see.Perhaps,I may still need to be convinced otherwise on my opinion.

greatgod2012: Abeg, me i dont agree with this, some men are exceptionally extrovert, sanguines, infact, some men can talk their intestines out, abeg, i no believe this reseasrch, i believe it depends on your personality and temperament, enviroment and heredity, so no one can authoritatively say one gender talks more than d other gender, i bet to disagree.
May God help us all.
Amen and thanks for registering your opinion.
FamilyResearch:Men Talk Three Times Less Than Women! by waleadex(op):
Researchers in the USA have found that a protein in the brain might explain why women are more talkative than men - three times more chatty, in fact. The research team at the University of Maryland say a "language protein" that goes by the name of Foxp2 is a lot more prevalent in women's brains. The protein was first discovered a decade ago and was deemed to be a key neurological component of speech. The scientists say it is a lot more abundant in girls than boys. They believe the protein is the reason why girls start speaking earlier and more quickly than boys. It also supports claims that women speak about 20,000 words a day, compared to just 7,000 words for the average man.

Research team leader professor Margaret McCarthy said: "This study is one of the first to report a sex difference in the expression of a language-associated protein in humans or animals." She added: "The findings raise the possibility that sex differences in brain and behaviour are more [widespread], and established earlier than previously [thought]." Other scientists have said there is more than one protein responsible for speech and that the research is in its infancy. Readers of Britain's Daily Mail newspaper offered some interesting insights into the chattiness of women. One said women have to talk more because, "men are not good listeners and women must repeat themselves to be heard"

To say that incarceration of Major Al-Mustapha has been a blessing for inmates in Maximum Security Prison Kirikiri is not an overstatement. Though, members of family of the late Gen. Sani Abacha’s Chief Security Officer prayed and wanted their son and breadwinner to be set free and come back home safely. Different strokes, they say for different folks; for Kirikiri prisoners, Major Al-Mustapha is indeed a God-sent to them.
Reason being that ever since he was transferred to Kirikiri, the inmates have been milking from his kindness and directly or indirectly benefiting from those that visit him. However, latest information reaching us revealed that Major Al-Mustapha, irrespective of his present predicament, he’s still thankful to God and he has not abandoned God.
He is also said to have built a mosque inside the Kirikiri for other prisoners who are Muslims to be able to worship God and move closer to Him. Those who should know divulged to us that the mosque was commissioned few weeks back and some top dignitaries in the country were there to commission the mosque with AL-Mustapha. An impeccable source intoned that some senators of the federal Republic of Nigeria and other important personalities in the country were on hand to cut the tape.

pro01: Good. These idiots (including Amaechi) feel that they can bully Jonathan because they mistake his gentleness for weakness. They forgot that he is the Commander-in-Chief after all.

If a sitting president is interested in running for a second term, it is ridiculous to try and pull the rug from under his feet within his own party. If you're interested in testing your popularity, then run to any of the other parties and contest on their platform. The PDP ticket should not be something to lust after when the sitting president wants it.
You have a point but the wish of the masses should prevail.Personally,I don't have any problem with GEJ as a leader but the PDP and people around him are the problems.

There were indications, Monday, that many of the northern governors currently nursing presidential ambition in 2015 might not be courageous enough to openly challenge President Goodluck Jonathan for the top post.

Vanguard learnt authoritatively that most of the second term governors, who were qualified to vie for the presidency, were afraid of being witch-hunted by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, as an attack dog.

A competent source said that already, EFCC had been mandated by 'orders from above' to take a critical look at how the second term governors were managing the finances of their states, particularly, the local government joint account and the utilisation of Ecological Funds running into billions of naira approved by the Presidency for such states, and report back.

The Nuhu Ribadu-led EFCC had effectively used such a tactic to scare many presidential and gubernatorial aspirants out of the 2007 general elections.

Although the court later cleared most of those indicted by EFCC under Ribadu, it was too late for them to still run by the time they got clearance from the judiciary.

Money laundering

It was learnt that although the operatives of the anti-graft agency had not completed their assignment, they had nonetheless stumbled on credible information that one of the popular governors in the north, linked with the 2015, was using his children's bank accounts to launder state funds.

Security operatives are said to have confronted the said governor, who is believed to be close to a former head of state, with concrete evidence that he had used the names of three of his children to siphon a huge chunk of the state's resources running into hundreds of millions of Naira.

Although the governor used his children's names to open the different accounts into which he routinely pays money, the security operatives were said to be shocked that the three signatures on the accounts were that of the governor.

The source added that it was when the operatives confronted the affected governor with the account details that he reportedly backed down on his alleged presidential ambition, claiming that it was a mere rumour and that he had never contemplated challenging President Jonathan for the plum job.

Four others

Four other second term governors from the north, who were reportedly angling for Jonathan's job in 2015, were said to have become cautious when they got wind of what happened to one of their colleagues.

The source said that given the way the accounts of the affected states were being scrutinised by security agents, it was not likely that any of the governors could get a clean bill of health at the end of the searchlight.

However, one of the governors, who is very popular in the region, is said to have vowed that he would still run when the time comes, insisting that he had been running a transparent administration since he assumed office by publishing a weekly expenditure and revenue accruing to his state.

However, a top politician and member of the Northern Elders' Forum, who pleaded anonymity, said that the north would unfailingly present a credible candidate to challenge Jonathan in 2015.

He pointed out that the names of the governors being bandied about as nursing presidential ambition might just be a decoy and that at the right time, the region would name Jonathan's main challenger.

"We cannot continue to allow Jonathan to run the country the way he and his Peoples Democratic Party are doing," the source stated.

When you talk while eating some sets of people call it "lack of table manners".I try as much as possible when I eat not to talk except when I have fruits. To me seeing an adult talking while eating means he/she is capable of controlling any trouble that may want to come up as a result of doing so.But for the kids I try my best stopping them from such habit. Now,when talking while eating, are there any implications medically(nutritionally),traditionally or religiously?
CelebritiesE-mail Reveals Music Promoter & Dr.conrad Murray Caused Michael Jackson’s Death. by waleadex(op): 9:48pm On Mar 05, 2013
A “smoking gun” email that allegedly links concert promoter AEG Live to the 2009 Michael Jackson’s Death was revealed this week in connection with the wrongful-death lawsuit filed by Jackson’s mother and children.
The exchange between AEG Live co-CEO Paul Gongaware and Jackson’s “This Is It” show director Kenny Ortega suggests that Dr. Conrad Murray might have been pressured into forcing an exhausted Jackson into performing over fear of losing his $150,000-a-month job as Jackson’s personal physician, according to CNN.
Jackson died June 25, 2009, just two weeks before the scheduled start of his 50-date comeback concerts at the AEG-owned O2 Arena in London.
Addressing concerns that Jackson had missed rehearsal, Gongaware’s email read: “We want to remind [Murray] that it is AEG, not MJ, who is paying his salary. We want to remind him what is expected of him.” Jackson lawyers are arguing that the email is evidence of AEG’s involvement in the singer’s sudden death.

PoliticsRe-instate Me As Ekiti Governor, Oni Appeals To Supreme Court by waleadex(op): 5:37pm On Mar 05, 2013
The former governor filed an application at the apex court seeking to set aside the judgment of the appellate court which removed him as governor.

He also asked the court to set aside a ruling by the court which refused to reverse the decision of the Appeal Court Election Petition Tribunal, even after it made a case, following findings of alleged bias on the part of the former president of the court of appeal, Justice Ayo Salami who presided over the election appeal tribunal

The Counsel to the former governor, Joe-Kyari Gadzama, leading 45 other lawyers including four Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), while adopting his brief of argument on Monday at the Supreme court, Abuja asked the apex jurists for a consequential order that Mr Oni should be reinstated as the governor of Ekiti state by virtue of the tribunal judgment delivered on 5 May 2010.

Mr Gadzama, in an alternative, asked the court to order that the Speaker of Ekiti state House of Assembly to be made acting governor.

Mr Oni challenged his removal on the grounds that the suspended President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ayo Salami, who constituted and presided over the panel, wrote the judgment of the Appeals Court that sacked him from office had close affinity with former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu, the alter ego of the incymbent Governor Kayode Fayemi’s party, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

According to Mr Gadzama, Justice Salami was biased and favoured ACN in the judgment and that such judgment should be set aside on the ground of judicial bias.

Mr Oni believes there are good reasons to subject the verdict to judicial review and therefore approached the Supreme Court alleging bias in the matter against the Chairman of the Court of Appeal panel and suspended President of the Court.

Mr Oni told the seven-man panel of the Supreme Court led by Justice Tanko Mohammed that he has a fundamental right to fair hearing and there is judicial bias in Justice Salami’s judgment and if established, that judgment will be a nullity.
