Let's wait till a day or two after the ceremony to see if they are actually absent. It will be too fast to conclude they didn't attend. If it then turns out to be true that they didn't attend, then something is wrong. |

He is Saheed Adebayo Akinfenwa and he is 30 years old. He plays for Northampton Town in the English League 2. At 5ft 10(1.80m) and weighing 16 stone , that's about 86 kg, he has gotten the nickname 'Beast' maybe because of his bulk. But he is said to be the strongest footballer in the world, at least according to the video game FIFA 13. . He has bench pressed 120kg,140kg,175kg & 180 kg like it is nothing. This season alone till date, he has scored 16 goals for his league 2 team. His preferred nos is 10. From the age of 18 till now he has gone through many clubs. In the past 8 years he has played for 10 clubs, in one year alone he changed club 4 times.

In my own opinion, the section that hardly makes it to frontpage is the "Car Talk" section. One does not have to consider the "Autos" section as the least because people only advertise vehicles and parts there.Perhaps, one can say the "Car Talk" section moderator is too strict in welcoming posters opinions, just saying. In your own view, which section in the Nairaland Forum do you consider as the least active? What do you think can be done to bring life to the section? Lest I forget,to me the most active is the "Celebrities" section. Have fun my people! |
Hi Kenyguy,do you have Hyundai i10 engine?If yes,how much? Thanks! |

There is an opportunity in everything. To 2face and many other celebs; it's just a marriage but to Jim Iyke! It's a chance to show his reality TV show.Jim took his TV crew to Dubai to film full episodes of his upcoming reality TV show during 2face wedding. He is indeed killing two birds with one stone there.

An Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Tuesday remanded a painter, Gbadebo Oladejo, at the Ikoyi Prisons over alleged murder of his 40-year old wife, Olajumoke. The Magistrate, Miss Y.J. Badejo-Okusanya, remanded Gbadebo, 46, along with his apprentice, Simeon Abiona, 34. The painter, who resides at 5, Ibiye Street, Morogbo, Lagos, and the apprentice, who has no fixed address, were charged with alleged conspiracy and murder. However, the court could not take their pleas as Badejo-Okusanya said that she needed the advice of the state’s Director of Public Prosecutions. According to the prosecutor, Mr. Cyriacus Osuji, the defendants committed the offences on 14 February at 10 a.m. at the painter’s residence. Osuji submitted that the apprentice slept in the painter’s two-bedroom flat when the incident occurred. He said that the deceased cooked for the family at night after which she slept in one of the rooms while the couple’s children slept in the other room and the defendants in the sitting room. Osuji said that the woman was allegedly discovered dead the following morning in the room, with her right eye plucked out. “They all rushed to the room and took her body to mortuary and wanted to bury her that day but the deceased’s parents objected to the burial,” Osuji said. He said that police investigations revealed that the deceased also had bruises on her body. The prosecutor said that the offences contravened sections 221 and 231 of the Criminal Code of Lagos State, 2011. The court has, however, adjourned the case till April 27. |
The crave for natural human hair by flashy ladies is no doubt on the increase. The situation is so bad that a lady recently dumped her boyfriend in Lagos because he couldn't buy her a Brazilian Hair. Sad! Below is a story Abuja based TV producer/ presenter and blogger, Rachel Edjeren, shared some days back on her Blog about the day she was chased in a dream by the Indian hair she fixed.. "My sister in-law came to pray with me last two years. She said she was experiencing ill luck during the week. So many nasty things happening to her. "I prayed wit her and the Spirit led me to ask her what hair she had on, she said Indian. I was led to tell her to remove it and not give out but pray and burn it. She obeyed and things went back to normal. Sometime after that, my hubby and I watched a documentary on how ladies in India sacrifice their hair to the gods if they have nothing else worthy to sacrifice. It gets more interesting...:-) Continue... http://www.tundeola.com/2013/03/rachel-edjeren-was-chased-in-dream-by.html#more My husband likes human hair. So even though I like my full dreadlocks kind of hairstyles, I give him what he likes most times. I have done brazilian and Peruvian hair so thought to try something different and more natural which is Indian hair. Last weekend I ordered for it and made it. Prayed on it and believed it was fine. Yesterday night (march 14, 2013) I had the strangest of dreams. I saw that I made a hair that allowed me to pack it thus project my face and make it look slimmer. All of a sudden, I got into a scuffle wit 3 people who began to chase me all over the place to kill me. I got off from them narrowly and ran into a market. There, a mad man began to chase me. Last weekend I ordered for it and made it. Prayed on it and believed it was fine. Yesterday night (march 14,2013)I had the strangest of dreams. I saw that I made a hair that allowed me to pack it thus project my face and make it look slimmer. All of a sudden, I got into a scuffle wit 3 people who began to chase me all over the place to kill me. I got off from them narrowly and ran into a market. There, a mad man began to chase me. I escaped him narrowly then 2 Molester-thugs came after me. All the while, I felt I was carrying someone else’s face. I ran into a house with people praying. The lady in charge there looked at me and showed me a picture of my self with my regular synthetic dread-like hair and said “but that is ur regular look, why are you carrying someone else's face. Then from no where another lovely lady came from outside, drew me to the corner and began to ask me about my look. She said “you are having problems with your hair right?” Whilst she was talking, I noticed something in her mouth; a bowl of cowries and the face of a Benin god. I looked closer and asked her what it was and why she had it. She said her man likes her because of that decor in her mouth—cowries and the face of a god like a shrine in one’s mouth? she also said that she is comfortable and that it’s beautiful. I woke up and prayed and immediately understood what the message was but didn’t want to let go of my cute human hair that cost so much. I decided to ask my husband because he interprets dreams accurately. He immediately told me to remove the hair. At the same time, the Spirit told me to cut it off and not remove it gracefully because it tried to bring me shame and pain. Cut it off, anoint your head, anoint and pray on the hair to refute all ill and do not just throw it away but BURN IT. I obeyed. I have decided to only carry my natural hair or synthetic hair. This is because the Bible says; “The hair is the woman’s crowning glory”. Carrying another’s is like carrying the other person’s spirit. The worst is even Indian. Nothing wrong with Indians; They are beautiful and we love them especially in Films but those hairs sold are sacrifices to gods. Thus, they are cursed. There are loads of other human-looking hair made with synthetic in the market if you want that look or if you insist on wearing real human hair, try those from other Countries but pray on them and be ready to bear any consequence.

A Gweru man recently went berserk, bashed his wife and even threatened to stab her with a knife after she reportedly refused to teach him how to open and use a Facebook account. The man, Benjamin Chanyau of 1242 Mkoba Village 18, appeared before Gweru magistrate Ms Sithandekile Ncube facing charges of domestic violence. He was found guilty of assaulting his wife, Ms Fadzai Muchavhaira and fined US$200 or in default one month imprisonment. The State's case as presented by Mr Bonwell Balamanja is that on 21 February, the complainant, Ms Muchavhaira was taught how to open and operate a Facebook account by her brother at the couple's house in Mkoba Village 18 in the presence of the accused. After the departure of Ms Muchavhaira's brother, Chanyau asked his beloved wife to open her Facebook account and teach him how to operate the social network website. Chanyau also demanded to see what his wife was posting on her Facebook account alleging that Facebook was bad for married couples. The wife refused to comply leading to a misunderstanding between the two. Chinyau got furious and kicked the complainant in the stomach once with a booted foot. He reportedly went on the threaten to stab his wife with a knife is she failed to show him what was on her Facebook wall and teach him how to use Facebook. The complainant reported the matter to the police leading to the wife-basher's arrest. http://bulawayo24.com/index-id-news-sc-national-byo-27639.html |

Former Vice-Chancellor, University of Nigeria, Prof. Ginigeme Mbanefo, has said the education sector thrived better under the administration of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo than the present administration. Mbanefo said at the assumption of office in 1999, the Obasanjo-led administration particularly brought value to the university system but stated that such value had vanished six years after he left office. The former UNN vice-chancellor, who spoke at the launch of a book – One and a half Centuries of the University in Nigeria, 1868 – 2011: A Historical Account – at Godfery Okoye University in Enugu, on Friday, said successive governments failed to maintain the standard set by the former president in universities and other areas of the education sector. Prof. Nduka Okafor, Emeritus Professor of Microbiology, Godfery Okoye University, authored the book. However, Mbanefo said it was only when Obasanjo became President that he could buy four tyres for his car at a go. “Before he became president, I would borrow N250 to buy just a tyre. Before 1999, it was even difficult taking my colleagues out on a treat,” the university don said. “When Obasanjo was leaving, we practically had the best brains in our university system and our thinking was that successive governments would maintain the standard he set and even better it. That didn’t happen as we are now left with lecturers who see teaching as a meal ticket. “It is so bad now that many of these professors who were leaving as at the time Obasanjo was leaving in 2007, have continued to render service to the system because if they don’t, the university system would long have collapsed in Nigeria. “I am saying that something must be done to bring up and nurture the best of the young ones to take up the teaching jobs in the universities, and not leave it in the hands of people who do it just to put food on the table.” The author, Okafor supported Mbanefo’s views. He said, “The book chronicles the history of Nigerian universities and paints the picture of what the ideal university should look like. |
Nigeria and Venezuela made their transition to democracy around the same time. We have had three presidents since, all from thee same party while they had just one. Let us see how Venezuela has performed since: "Before the Chavez government in 1998, 21% of the population was malnourished. Venezuela now has established a network of subsidized food distribution including grocery stores and supermarkets. While 90% of the food was imported in 1980, today this is less than 30%. Misión Agro-Venezuela has given out 454,238 credits to rural producers and 39,000 rural producers have received credit in 2012 alone. Five million Venezuelan receive free food, four million of them are children in schools and 6,000 food kitchens feed 900,000 people. The agrarian reform and policies to help agricultural producers have increased domestic food supply. The results of all these food security measures is that today malnourishment is only 5%, and child malnutrition which was 7.7% in 1990 today is at 2.9%. This is an impressive health achievement by any standards. Some of the most important available data on health care and public health are as following: *infant mortality dropped from 25 per 1000 (1990) to only 13/1000 (2010); *An outstanding 96% of the population has now access to clean water (one of the goals of the revolution); *In 1998, there were 18 doctors per 10,000 inhabitants, currently there are 58, and the public health system has about 95,000 physicians; *It took four decades for previous governments to build 5,081 clinics, but in just 13 years the Bolivarian government built 13,721 (a 169.6% increase); *Barrio Adentro (i.e., primary care program with the help of more than 8,300 Cuban doctors) has approximately saved 1,4 million lives in 7,000 clinics and has given 500 million consultations; *In 2011 alone, 67,000 Venezuelans received free high cost medicines for 139 pathologies conditions including cancer, hepatitis, osteoporosis, schizophrenia, and others; there are now 34 centres for addictions, *In six years 19,840 homeless have been attended through a special program; and there are practically no children living on the streets. *Venezuela now has the largest intensive care unit in the region. *A network of public drugstores sell subsidized medicines in 127 stores with savings of 34-40%. *51,000 people have been treated in Cuba for specialized eye treatment and the eye care program “Mision Milagro”; has restored sight to 1.5 million Venezuelans" Source-Counterpoint http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=350592781717084&set=a.220003301442700.43914.184759784967052&type=1&relevant_count=1 |

It was a joyful occasion for the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State as Soji Oni, a Provincial Pastor, dedicated a set of triplets after twenty five years of childlessness with his wife. The triplets, named Miracle, Sign and Wonder, were dedicated to God at the King’s Place Parish, Port Harcourt, headquarters of Rivers Province 2 of the RCCG. An overwhelmed Oni told a cheering congregation that it takes a man with heart and foundation built on God to patiently wait twenty five years for the fruit of the womb. He said: “Twenty five years is not twenty five days. It was a very big challenge not only as a family man but as a pastor who prays for others for the same problem and they receive. But today our prayers have been answered. “God knows our problems. I didn’t pray to have triplets but He gave one. Many families break for not being able to bear children, but we should continue to trust in the Lord no matter the challenges. Our challenges are not bigger than God.” Also sharing the tough times the family endured in the long wait for a child, the wife called on women to love and pray together with their husbands during tribulations as God is the only one who “knows our problems.” http://www.article.com.ng/news/miracle-in-church-pastor-gets-triplets-after-25-years-of-childlessness/ |

JudismphD: Another opportunity raising its urgly head in 2014 for political vampires in PDP to dry the treasure for 2015 electoral robbery.I quite agree with you.Personally I don't have any confidence in our government.Stuff like this should be celebrated but the handlers will see it as loop-hole to eat-up the nation's treasury. It's so sad that the masses have lost confidence in Nigerian movers. |
In January, Nigeria will be celebrating 100 years of her existence as a united and indivisible nation. It was in January 1914 that Lord Frederick Lugard signed the amalgamation document uniting the Colony and Protectorate of Southern Nigeria and the Protectorate of Northern Nigeria. He signed the document in Zungeru which he established as his capital. This house here where he signed the document was effectively the Aso Rock of Nigeria until Lugard moved the capital to Lagos because of its proximity to the sea. As we prepare to celebrate our centenary in January 2014, should restoring the house where the amalgamation was signed and turning it into a museum not be top of the agenda? Unfortunately, look at the pathetic state of the house in Zungeru. It is in a state of disuse with weeds haven taken over. I hope those charged with organising the celebrations do something about it. I also think that Zungeru as a town should get an economic boost too, ditto Lokoja, Nigeria's other colonial capital. Nigeria has had four capitals in her history - Lokoja, Zungeru, Lagos and Abuja. Today, they should all be world class cities! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=350125468430482&set=a.220003301442700.43914.184759784967052&type=1&relevant_count=1

Matthew Ashimolowo, the most successful Nigerian pastorpruener in the UK is 61 today. Born on March 17 1952, Pastor Ashimolowo is the founder and owner of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in London. Forbes estimates Pastor Ashimolowo's net worth at between $6m and 10m and KICC's annual accounts confirm that he earns an annual salary of £100,000. The bulk of Pastor Ashimolowo's wealth comes from the sale of Christian literature and documentaries through his media company, Matthew Ashimolowo Media. He subscribes to and teaches success in what has become the unique Nigerian doctrine of prosperity theology. Kind of like the Latin American liberation theology that preaches social justice, prosperity theology teaches how to become wealthy and successful in business. Pastor Ashimolowo converted to Christianity from Islam at the age of 22 after the death of his father before enrolling with a bible school. Among other things, he owns a university in Nigeria today. We wish him many happy returns. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=350116811764681&set=a.220003301442700.43914.184759784967052&type=1&relevant_count=1 |
