bigfrancis21: No. Her SEVIS fee is still valid. What does she need a new I-20 form for? She should use her old I-20 again unless there's a mistake on it which she contacted her school and told and they're preparing for her a new one. The only new payment she has to make is a another visa fee of N26,400. Her SEVIS, and I-20 still remain valid.

Thank bro.. you were spot on.. there was an error on the i-20 form and she had to return it back to the school for a new one.

My sister is currently being faced with an ambiguous situation and i need you guyz to help. She got admitted this week for a master's programme in Public Administration (MPA)and the I-20 was issued yesterday as well. The utmost challenge is the fact that the school resumption date is 8th April (Spring)and we are seriously doubting if she could meet up in view of the time required to make that happen. My few are questions are;

1. Is it true that an admission can't be deffered and a new paperwork has to be done to get a new admission letter and I-20 issued for a summer entry? I am really confused as that was the fall out of the discussion i had with the lady in charge of her admission on phone yesterday.

2. Can she still meet up with securing an appointment and going for interview at the embassy within this short period? I learnt prospective students are advised and expected to apply in good time so they can be in the US 30 days before resumption. Please advise on whether to progress for spring entry or work on summer entry.

3. Lastly, I need you to help provide a list of documents (checklist) needed at this point or things we need to urgently put in place.

Hi good people,

My cousin is currently having a challenge booking an appointment. The system keeps saying his details had been used with a different e-mail address in the past, hence he wasn't allowed to move further in scheduling the appointment.

He was trying to use a tout initially to book his appointment who he couldn't find till now. He was even forced to go and pay another visa fee as a result.

What can be done to correct this anomaly as he doesn't know the e-mail the tout created on his behalf to book the initial appointment?

Please help and treat as urgent.

My application for a visit visa to the US was granted this afternoon. Thanks for providing all the needed tips and info that made my interview a successful one. Below is the short interaction i had with the VO:

VO: Why do you wanna visit the US?
ME: To honour my cousins invitation to spend 14 days out of my annual leave with him and his wife in the US

VO: Where does he live in the US?
ME: Norfolk City in Virginia

VO: Are you married?
ME: Yes

VO: Do you have kids?
ME: Yes, I have two

VO: What is your wife's occupation?
ME: I told him

VO: What is your occupation?
ME: I told him

VO: How much you earn per month?
ME: I told him that my salary varies in the last six months and i gave him a monthly average

VO: In dollars or naira?
ME: I smiled uncontrollably.. i told him that itz in naira

VO: Have you traveled out of Nigeria before?
ME: Yes, I have been to South Africa, UK thrice and most recently France

VO: I have approved your visa and you can pick it up with the green slip with you and he handed me a white A4 paper, content of which i haven't even read till now

I need to get some clarifications on behalf on my sis that would be having her interview soonest for spring 2013.. she intends studying an MBA in a Uni in the US;

*What is the difference between GRE and GMAT? The VO seems to be dwelling more on GRE and i am kind of confused cos she sat for GMAT and not GRE.. Is it right to reply that she sat for GMAT if GRE is requested from her by the VO?

*Is it compulsory she sits for TOEFL in addition to GMAT? I guess i saw something like that in earlier posts..

*Find it hard to interprete the GMAT score.. she had 330 in Verbal & Quantitative.. Is analytical writing and integrated reasoning not always cummulated to the score in verbal & quantitative?

Help throw more light please.

MRbrownJAY: the month of August is one of the worst time to visit Paris, as most shops would be closed for the summer holiday, and the city is almost like a ghost town.

I need help

My new HP laptop is working but nothing seems to be showing on the screen. You can see all programs on the background of the screen, but sort of no illumination to project it clearly to the user.

That all what everybody says but at the end holidays will turn to holiyears and u bring the whole family.As advised use hotel booking cos Inlaw is not an Immediate Family to the ECO so u should avoid being refused use Hotel booking

Thanks for the advice. I was unable to make it to the UK on the date stated on my VAF (same applies to my booking confirmation) simply because i was very busy @ work. Can i make another hotel booking whenever am good to go? Your reply will be so much appreciated.

Still the same document you used in securing your first 6 months visa. I applied for another 6 months extention (since i can only travel once a year) after the expiration of my first 6 months tourist visa, but was granted a 2 years extention. Still beats my imagination till today.

I got my first visitors visa (6 months) with an hotel booking but ended up filling my friends info (whom i intended staying with for a week) on the landing card and i was allowed in.

I just got a 2 years extention of my visitors visa with an hotel booking as well and intends travelling next month. Hope there won't be any issue if i still maintain to write my friends info on the laning card.

The documents he applied with are enough to secure a visa.
But as we all know they are inconsistent in there judgments.
I think he can re-apply , but he should show a pre-paid hotel booking.

He used a pre-paid hotel booking in support of his first application, so he should still do the same.
Can he do that immediately or just wait a little while?
Is he to include another leave letter and letter of introduction from his company in support of another application?
