safex101: Like Australia, if your study course is 2 years and above you are entitled to a 2 to 5years post study permit You are damn funny because you didn't apply to Australia and you are here campaigning for people to apply there while you applied to a school in US and got admitted.. Anyway everyone has his/her own dream to follow. |

bathchedars: Please can anybody advise me on how to connect "don4ye"? I was advised to contact him about my challenge on getting notification of result before the certificate is issued from National Open University. I have sent him a personal message but no response from him yet....
I have my visa and I'm due to resume to school by the end of July, but I'm a fresh graduate and I don't have either certificate or even notification of result yet....... cc don4ye which school did you apply to and are they requesting for the original copy now ? If you can't get the original copy why can't you defer till spring so as to avert you from danger when you resume July.. |

Observant: So i just found out that F1 students are not eligible to work off-campus, the tuition is expensive, there is no clear cut pact to PR, and you get only get 12 months post graduate work visa except for stem programs.
Please permit me to ask, why people choose to study in US over other english speaking locations with better student conditions?
This is a very sincere inquest as i have already applied to SNHU. Abeg anyone from SNHU talk to me. Lemme ask you Same question in another way, why did people choose to come to Lagos to work over other states? If you can get answer to this question then you almost close to the answer to your own question |

OluDare01: Some schools need it. Funny enough, my classmate and I got admitted to ETSU for the same program and we both sent our official transcripts. In my admission letter, they requested for my certificate prior to registration while my friend was spared. There must be a reason why he was spared.. |

Anyway contact your school and they will let you know if you will still write toefl or ielts or maybe you do English classes before starting your course but believe me I don't think you will do it but try confirm |

LagosismyHome: That is not an accurate way to calculate your GPA... If you made a 2:2 self in Nigeria , you probably have a much higher GP than 2.67 . Go to WES and use the online calculator . Put your details and get a more accurate estimation of what your GPA converts to in the US Standard .
Agency in Nigeria awarded it ... Thats good ooo. So you might be able to use it in other school or did the agency say it must be UB..
I for AMAZE before say a School for America go give funding with no GRE and GPA of 2.67 .... Agency that process the admission for him and it will be hard to use that in another school.. I guess it was the school that did the evaluation and told the agency and the agency must have claimed they did that.. Anyway I just talk my own ni oooo |

diggy4real: That's my Nigerian school CGPA...... 2.67.......not UB oooo....an agency in Nigeria awarded it....buh na tier one wet person dey easily get job with. Thanx. I guess that was the agency you patronise in processing your admission to that school.. |

kentro201: GOOD DAY EVERYONE,I HOPE YOU ALL HAVING A GREAT HOLIDAY.
PLEASE I HAVE SOME ENQUIRIES TO MAKE.
I WORK WITH AN AUDIT FIRM AS ASST AUDIT MANAGER for 2years,My manager boss has resigned due to reasons best known to him.
My company has decided to grant me a study leave and also to sponsor my professional study as a certified internal auditor in usa .
I searched for a university that offers the course and my company approved and made payment for the course ($2,100)was paid and a receipt was sent via email ....its a month certificate course and payment is required to get a space booked.
A registration verification letter has been issued with a receipt of payment .
My question is what category of visa will iapply for and is registration verification letter from the university and receipt of course payment with supporting documents from my company and myself enough .
Please house contribute to this as the course is starting in September and ends November...and I also don't want to miss this golden opportunity from my company .
Thanks to you all in advance The school must have send you an email about the category of visa you will apply for but if they didn't, kindly contact them and ask.. It should be either F1 or M1 or J1 but contact the school to know and get the right answer.. |

safex101: Good Afternoon,
I got admission from a uni in NY, the total fee for the four semester program is about $65800, which I feel is astronomical . I have about 20m personally, I think that will cover for the first year fees and living cost.
Will it be wise to spend that amount on a Masters program ? I was thinking if I get to US, then probably transfer to a sch that will cost less, in spring ( is this possible? ). But on the other hand, what will I be doing from September to January.
I also have offer from a good UK uni, maybe I could just go with that?
Ideas please, cc Walspring , LagosismyHome As for me I will just lay the foundation and get admitted to another school that is cheap because to transfer to another sometimes might not be easy because some schools can be funny.. Your 20M can run the whole of your programme in another school and they will give you change join and get funding if you want. |

LagosismyHome: Congrats .......Some transcripts are very interesting and definitely an element of favour . You see some with obvious career switch and the VO doesnt make an issue (which is normal , people switch every day) But you see some transcript that when there is Career switch VO just deny FAST . The prayer na make God go before you .... . Someone will come and say it's not favour and I wonder what could that be and another name if it is not favour. |
