I got my F-1 visa this morning. This is how the interview went.

Me: Good morning sir (smiling)
VO: Good morning. You are been admitted to Georgia State University to study Economics at a post graduate level.
Me: Yes
VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: 3. San Francisco State Univ., Southern Illinois Univ. Edwardsville and Georgia State Univ.and I got admitted in all 3.
VO: Ok. Then why did you chose GSU? How did you hear about them?
Me: My project supervisor did a post-doctoral diploma there and he recommended the school to me. I also made my research about them and found out that they have an Economics Experimental Center where real-time data from nearly all economic indicators from all over the world are being analyzed.... (he cuts in)
VO: Who is paying for you education?
Me My father.
VO: What does he do?
Me: He's aa civil engineer with a private practice. He owns xxxxxxx construction services and they engage in building schools and hospital and other mini facilities.
VO: (Passes back my I-20) you are going to need that at the port of entry. Go pick your passport at this address. THE circles an address on a paper and passes it to me).
Me: Thank you sir.
VO: (Winks)

please, I want to ask all the gurus in the house, does one need to go for a second visa interview if the person wishes to defer his/her admission from a particular semester to another? I have contacted the school for detailed explanation, all I got was that, a new application will be made and a new I20 issued with the same SEVIS number but I will have to go for a second interview. Please, house, save a troubled soul. Has anyone been through this?

You dont need second visa interview if you defer, all you need is a new updated I-20 that will reflect as the new semester you deferred to..

you cant get same date but if you are lucky you can get your same date back..

Note: it is just God mercy&favor cos in course of checking in my name was mistakenly tick before I got there& the woman told me there is mistake she then said God will used the mistake for my favor.
Am really grateful and appreciate everybody on this forum for the good work, God will favour those that are yet to get their visa&those delay God will pave way for you all. I appreciate the like of Walspring, azeezahbee,profojah. God bless you all&we shall all meet at the apex ladder of success.

Ha! My interview date is still in january,wen I try to update its doing error dt I should email d embassy.It was a mistake I book appointment mysef.It means my date will be postponed?

You will need to cancel your date in order for you to update it either yourself or through the embassy..

After you cancel your interview date, just click on new application, when you get to the stage or step where you input your data page details, date of birth, full names, address, school name and sevis id number etc. U will see ds160 confirmation code, just clear the code there and put the new code and click continue.

By doing that it will update.

It depend some is 24 hours (1 day) while some 48 hours (2 days) while some 72 hours (3 days)

Are you saying the ds160 code you filled and submitted is different from the one you used when filling the appointment date form?

If i may ask,do you book the appointment yourself

But you can update and correct it yourself but you will need to forfeit your interview day in order for the ds160 to be update in your appointment date sute and its the same thing the U.S embassy will email you in their reply

provided the person send the MO for real, it is not fake, its with DHS office and they are processing the MO, trust me you won't have issue during your interview the only thing the VO will say is after you print your sevis receipt i will grant your visa.

I searched for how to register on paypal via google. I found my way through and I registered using my email and password. It'll ask for your ATM card number and expiry date as well as d 3 digits @ the back of the card. Then you are registered on paypal. This means you can buy anything online via your ATM card using paypal.

You then go back to your profile on ets.org/gre (if you have created a profile. If you have not, you have to create one through which you will register for exams as well as access your GRE scores when it's out). Respond to all the questions asked and you will finally checkout to the payment page, you click on paypal and it will ask you for your login details on paypal, it will notify you of the payment. Then you print the notification mail on the screen while you receive a confirmation of payment in your email as well.

I tried to open account with paypal few weeks after it was launched for Nigeria but it doesn't work out for me and that's why am asking for the procedure again.

Okay then but for the toefl is a good score and it all depend on the requirement of the school your friend is applying to.

For the new gre score i don't know how to calculate it ooo.. Maybe someone else would help you out.

It should get to their office either Tuesday or Wednesday.. They will process the money order the same day they received it and it might reflect on that day or 2-3 days after...

It all depend on how soon they can get the money out of the money order into their bank account just like depositing a check

Visa approved today at Lagos. I think I was like the 4th approval after lots of rejections. Interview was short and wasnt even asked for any documents. Pretty happy.

is it GRE or SAT? because the score people usually talk about GRE here is Q141, V141, 2.0 etc.

I guest its SAT, anyway its a good score for toefl and SAT..

Hopefully it will reflect today or tomorrow..
