victorious4real: Pls house ,I just received a new i-20 and I paid SEVIS FEE under a different I-20 which I deferred late last yr , Pls,how do request the SEVIS FEE transfer to my new i-20 ?

The basic rules for moving a SEVIS I-901 fee payment between SEVIS ID numbers are:

The SEVIS I-901 fee must be moved between SEVIS ID numbers for the same individual

An additional SEVIS I-901 fee is not required (For more information, see the section, Do I pay the fee?)

The SEVIS I-901 fee amount for the new school or program must be less than or equal to the SEVIS I-901 fee already paid

Only the student or exchange visitor may request the move

If you want to transfer the SEVIS I-901 fee payment information from one SEVIS ID number to another, you need to mail or e-mail SEVP through this email fmjfee.SEVIS@ice.DHS.gov.

SEVP will consider your request and determine if the fee can be transferred.

Put Fee Transfer in the subject line of your request. Give them your name, date of birth, the SEVIS ID number that you originally paid on and the SEVIS ID number you want to transfer the payment to, as well as a current, valid address.

Explain why the fee needs to be transferred. It will help speed your request if you include a copy of your receipt number.

SEVP will review your request and determine if the fee can be transferred. If your request is approved, you will receive an email or letter indicating that you can now print your updated I-901 payment confirmation at www.fmjfee.com reflecting the SEVIS ID from your new Form I-20 or DS-2019.

Ty Lannister: Bros, thank you very much. From what I can see, getting a visa for undergraduate study under the current conditions will be a miracle unless I cook something up for them to believe. I can't tell them that I didn't finish my degree, it'll be a red flag that I may not stay in school in the future. I have only worked for a few months and only recently in something related to what I want to study now.

I'm starting to consider getting into the same degree program I want to do there here in Nigeria and then either trying to do a transfer to a school there or finishing the degree and doing a graduate program in my discipline over there. But I don't like that option as much as going later this year.

Edit: I was just wishing that there was someone who tried under the same conditions and can advise me.

Bro you cant tell them that you didnt finish your degree before.. Also you need to tell them what they need to hear and dance to your tune. Since you have worked before you can use that and look for other things to cover up the gap.

bro try google or go to travel.state.gov maybe you will get their number there.

You can also call lagos number and ask them to forward you to abuja line or they should give you abuja line.

yea they will want proof and it is you that will show them prove with what you intend doing when you get there and many more like that.

What you tell fill in ds160 and what you tell VO will determine what he will ask you and morever Gods' favour and mercy is the ultimate stuff there.

So dont think down or negative about yourself just work on your home tiess and what you have been doing since you left high school to cover up the gaps in between.

I keep seeing high school academic records as one of the requirements for admission into undergraduate degree programs. I finished high school more than ten years ago and I didn't have impressive records. But I went some way in tertiary institutions. I just didn't finish my degree and my records weren't very good either. Is there a way around this requirement? What can I do?

Bro you can get your visa with Gods' grace and mercy cos age doesnt matter when God want to favour u and show u mercy.

Also you need waec result in order to get admitted for undergraduate studies.

Since you dont have impressive record why dont you create one like saying you went for computer course and you have work experience, and the work experience is related to the undergraduate course you want to go for, many more record you can say.

With God, prayer, fasting, confidence, good reasons to convince the VO, with a good preparation you will get your visa.

I was at the bank today, and was told that the A4 statement of acc is not accept for visa interview, that its the long foldable print-out Statement of acc that is accepted. My sponsor actually printed out the A4 type before he travelled. Can I still go with the A4 type?

Listen to what they said to u cos that's their work and that's what they use anyway.

Cant you ask your sponsor to call his/her account officer and issue a new statement for you, maybe it can work out that way!

Pls. I will like to advice some of us here to always use DHL, fedex or even ups for your I-20 delivery. I tried using usps/nipost and got disappointed, it made me miss my deadline. now i have to reapply for fall to be deferred.

De Tus: @Walspring, the passport was accepted at the embassy, right? Meaning it hasn't expired yet. Finally, I indicated the best option is to renew it for her before travelling out. So, that overides any presumption. To renew a passport is very easy. It takes less than 24 hours.

I only asked how u take arrive at 6months.

Anyway passport is not expire yet but it stated that a passport must have 6months validity before someone can use it to enter a country.

Well, Embassy work is different from Immigration work. So embassy can accept it while immigration wont accept it.

Do u remember that U.S. immigration rule that say someone can be deny entry into U.S. Soil at poe even though the visa is valid.

let her defer til fall and renew her passport cos her passport is not up to six month validity anymore cos POE immigration might act funny and she might have issue cos of that at POE and it will be painful if she is being ask to go back to Nigeria after spending money to fly down to Obamaland.

1, yea it is possible and it all depend on the school you applied to.

2, you need to search for schools who give scholarship to international students with the score you have in your SAT. Also search through google for private organisations who give scholarship to international students or ask your school to tell you.

3, start reading from part 3 of this thread till you get to this part 5.
