Someone said you should reapply for EA, this time try to make a compelling case. I’ve also been told that you need to sound very respectful like saying things like “Dear Honorable Ambassador”.

Lastly, you can dm me, there’s a group to check for dates in Abuja, if you’re interested, dm me.

Childofthemosth:
Hi,

If you have the funds, I will suggest UK schools, you’ll be sure to get admitted and get your visa.

Also, you can go through this thread to find out about US schools and all involved with studying in the US.

Long Post

Over the past weeks, I have been more than delighted seeing a 100% visa approvals from all those that I was privileged to have been engaged with in their F1 Visa mock exercise albeit some did not come here to share their transcripts. It was fascinating to have spent those times with you. Congratulations guys! More wins await you all.

In addition, I personally derived this somewhat, naturally induced self-confidence and the can-do-spirit with the news of your successes, that despite my 2 previous refusals at the Lagos Consulate, I knew I had what it takes to change the narrative at my third consecutive appointment in Lagos with the Almighty by my side.

NOTE: I am not God that gives visa approvals neither am I a professional VO that has worked at the embassy before. I only try to directly impact your preparation positively if I happen to have the chance to prepare with you.

In all you do, Do Not Quit This Hustle. Listen to Burna Boy's song "Level Up" in the Twice as Tall Album if you feel like quitting.
Congratulations!! This is really encouraging news. Please I’d like to do mock interviews with you if you don’t mind. Thanks

Hello all, when filling the DS-160, what does one fill for “Who is sponsoring your trip” question? The person paying for your flight or the person paying your tuition?
I’m paying for my flight, but not my tuition. Please advise. Thank you.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by Wanderlust18: 8:20am On Sep 25, 2020
This is my opinion and is open to further dissection to help this situation.
Is the father aware of the child at all?
Does she have any correspondence (email/SMS or both) with the father showing that he’s not interested in the child?
I believe if the father isn’t aware, then she can spin the story in her favour to show sole custody and make sure that he stays unaware so she can carry her child with her in peace.
If he’s aware and is not interested, then she must have correspondence as evidence for this to help her case if he wants to make any issues later (also, if they have a strained relationship, she will do best to make sure he doesn’t know of her immigration plans, lest he tries to use the child situation to give her issues)
I make these points because on the cic website, anyone with sole custody doesn’t need the other parent’s consent. So she must find out how to establish sole custody. I’ll advise that she seek legal counsel to avoid needing it in the future.
As for birth certificate, I believe she can have the child’s surname the same as hers.

[quote author=Gifty28 post=94261679]Good afternoon everyone, for single moms who have gone through this process or for people who have ideas about this. (1) A friend wants to try this express entry process but she Just gave birth recently and isn’t with the baby’s father( she’s single not married) she wants to know how to go about it? She hasn’t collected her baby’s birth certificate yet and she wants to know if putting her surname on the certificate won’t have any issue with the immigration process concerning/asking about her baby’s dad??

Oooooooo, I LOVE THIS! I’m still trying to get my own processing in order, will reach out for guidance as I progress. Hope to return with my testimony also!
I’m here for my approval, not pressure! Puhleazee, keep it

sharwama:
It's what VO's do, it's what they are good at. But what they'd never tell you is; in Nigeria(where applications are so numerous) VOs are equally under pressure to make the right call, I mean they have to make a very important decision in few minutes by relying on information provided and their highly groomed sense of judgement. It's not easy for them either.
Yet, I was coached to bounce back the pressure, give it right back to the VO with 100% confidence, I need visa, not pressure, so puhleeze keep it grin grin grin
At the end of the day, when you go back there, please remember, BLACK don't CRACK and you my friend, are black grin grin grin
May the force be with you!

Hi, I’m certainly not a guru on this, but here are my thoughts on your transcript and this explanation.

Except you were trying to save your ex’s behind which has bitten you in the back and is irrelevant as the VO is already aware that he overstayed, you should have just told this story in a more concise manner to the VO. She did ask you to explain after all.

Simply say, irreconcilable differences on your last visit to the US together, you returned home, started the divorce procedures which are since concluded and that’s as far as you know about him since you lost touch after the divorce was final.

There are times to be quiet with them and there are times to speak up. Please speak up and get your visa because this seems like your only stumbling block.

I wish you the best!

Katripka:
Thanks!

We were divorced after he moved to the US.

So here is a little background story, we were having a lot of marital troubles in the early years of our marriage, we both attended numerous counselling and part of the recommendations of the counsellor, was to travel on a family vacation together, in order to help the union.

We applied for a family visa and we travelled together. It was after we got to the US, that the story changed around staying back on our B1/B2. We got into a heated argument as I was unwilling to overstay, so I came back home and commenced the divorce proceedings which was finalized late last year.

I have the divorce documents but the VO wasn't even willing to listen let alone sight the documents. I tried explaining to her, that the opportunity to stay back presented itself, but because I was unwilling to jeopardize my future, I did not.

This is definitely not a case of wife going to join him but it's hard to believe going by the numerous atrocities committed by Nigerians

Thanks I see this as a better course of action.

fairheart:
Hi, let your husband visits you later, or you will guys will be making impression that you're migrating. Apply for your visa alone, except this is the underlying plan?
It is NOT NECESSARY that he follows you. Go for your visa; husband can come for visit later.
Best of luck!

Good afternoon to you all.

I currently have admission from SIT NJ, and plan to apply for the visa alongside my husband (F2). He plans to use this visa only for visiting purposes, as he doesn’t plan to leave his job here.
Can we attend the interview together and should we state this at the interview?

I got the medical invite as well. Like people have said in previous posts, opening a WhatsApp group
defeats the purpose of keeping information here for other people’s use in the future.
I think it’s quiet for now because it’s just medical, afterwards when we get to documentation stage, I’m sure there should be a lot of questions and answers going back and forth. Let’s just try to keep the info flowing, thanks guys.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Union Bank 2018 Management Trainee Programme by Wanderlust18: 12:50pm On Jan 05, 2019
Thanks, it’s actually Birth Certificate, well I guess I can say lost, it’s lost somewhere amongst my documents, and because of time I have to consider getting another original, I was told that I will need the original copy at the AC.

Yes, I have a photocopy and scanned copy. Thanks

TGM2015:
You can't find or you have lost your original certificate? Anyway, first thing first, go to court and do affidavit. And you can then visit nereast Police Station to get Police Report before going to your school to get a certified true copy of your certificate. I hope you have photocopy/scanned copy of the said certificate readily available.

But for the purpose of this recruitment, statement of results are acceptable. If the certificate is O' level, just go online and print a coloured copy of your result. If getting police report and going to the school is practically impossible considering the time, you can try your luck by presenting the photocopy of your certificate and affidavit as to lost of original certificate.

Best of lucks.

Itiswellblessed:
Thanks guys. I think I'll just try and save up as much as I can for now. If within those periods I'm able to do my papers, fine and good. If not, I'll just move back to Nigeria.
Dear OP,

You couldn’t have said any better. Save up as much as you can, consider good schooling options and a sustainable comfortable lifestyle for your children and yourself if you do choose to come home. Be warned! It will not be easy with or without money, so the more money you have, the better your chances of not slipping into some form of depression every now and then.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure you are committed to stand by it through good and bad times. You can relive your relocation dreams through your children and even your improved skills in the nearest future.
Start living like you have no other place to go to, that might help you find a way to fix your status and start saving and planning like you have no choice but to come back home, that will help your quality of life if you do decide to return.
Think where you want to be 10 years from now and the kind of life you would want to live with the information at hand currently, and make a cry informed, not purely sentimental decision.
May God show you the way forward.
I wish you the best.

The assessment centre was invented as a replacement for the conventional interview method, The conventional interview method has its loopholes in that candidates could have crammed the answers before coming for the session.

The assessment centre provides a real life scenario where the employer gets to see prospective employees in action. The activities most times includes a psychometric test, numerical test, essay writing, group discussion, personal presentation etc. For UBN, it is personal presentation and group discussion.

Tips for success. I have attended three AC at three top notch organizations and have mastered some techniques that have worked so well for me.

For the personal presentation,
1. You can learn how to make use of SWOT to analyze case study, this will really help newbie who will be analyzing case studies for the first time. So as much as you can, work on your comprehension skills, analytical skills (problem solving and decision making) and usage of time, this is key in this stage, If you are sound in this, you will do well. You won't have the whole time in the world, learn to use the given time judiciously. Read, study and understand your case study and write out the salient points. You must be practical in your solutions and ensure they are well thought of as such see the case study as real life, like this is happening in reality.

2. After the analysis comes the presentation, for this you need to work well with time usage too, effective communication and presentation skills (you can work on this before that day) will help a lot, be confident and speak assertively, share your findings to the panel, the problems (root causes) and the solutions (recommendations). Ensure your confidence level is high and just be yourself. Also questions will be asked, you must be able to think strategically and come up with meaningful answers and that's why sound understanding of the case study is paramount.

After that comes the group discussion,

In this case you will have another case study to deal with. Just like the first one, study it critically and understand it, take note also of the salient points and also what you are meant to do as a group.

During discussion, be outspoken and contribute positively (you don't need to talk ten times to be preferred, just ensure your contributions are meaningful, I only spoke thrice, and I still remembered at one other organization it was just twice so no be about who talk pass but I didn't say you should go and be dumb, we need to hear from you as we know you are smart, also learnt to work collaboratively with your group (teamwork is being looked out for here, UBN ain't employing a loner who doesn't value his/her team) so don't talk down on others, don't attack anyone even if they don't share your own views and don't force your points down the throat of everyone.

All in all, eat well, refresh yourself, look good, dress well, sleep well (not like you shouldn't prepare oooo lol), arrive early, be your best, act your best and do your best, and also before and after pray well.

I wish you all the best.

If I have any further additions, I will modify this comment.

Remember there is no competition on the extra mile (learnt this at UBN).

All the best.
Thank you very much! Will work with this now, hope we can come back with more questions if we need some more clarification.
