What I could never understand about all these people who claim that Igboid groups like Ikwerre and Nfoki migrated from Bini is why did they drop their Bini names and language for Igbo?

Even if they lost their language, why would the take on Igbo names?

They are Igbos who left Bini Empire after the prince whom they supported got defeated during the war for the Bini throne according to history.

This is poor thinking by these accountants!!! ..This looks so because 70 percent of Nigeria VAT collections happen in Lagos but these monies originate from other states ..I will tell you the story of 100 KVA generator I once supplied to a hospital in Nassarawa state , the money for this transaction came 100 percent from Nassarawa state but I paid all the taxes carried to the generator in Lagos state making it seem like the money came from Lagos to a shallow mind ...as long as 70 percent of Nigerias imports pass through Lagos it will continue to seem Lagos is contributing most of the tax which is kind of erroneous

Bros, can you give me an estimate of how much a 100KVA generator cost as of today.?

Do you have an idea where I can buy a 100KVA alternator.?

You clowns seriously need Igbos in this contraption, instead of you to come out plain and open up to the Igbos by telling them how much you would want to stay with them in this hell hole of a country, you resorted in name calling, will name calling make the Igbos to change their minds??

You said I should leave nigeria for you and go where??
Why should I leave my land for you?? I should leave my land for you because the British amalgamated the great Igbos and @n!m@l$ and named us nigeria, is that why I should leave my precious land for you M00r0n!c beings??

Nigeria must surely divide I will advise you M00r0n!c creatures to start learning how to stay on your own so that you things will not die out of shock when it eventually happens.

Kanu who was not heard or seen for over a year, resurfaced in Jerusalem and is now in the UK. Yet in all that time, it is now that Kanu wants to kill him? Why? Because of what the man knew about Kanu? What is this big secret Kanu wants to hide that he would kill a man hardly anyone even knows? Nobody can answer that one. So all this is speculation

I'm disappointed with Dokubo to accuse Kanu of a serious crime of murder based on speculation.

My brother, Asari Dokunbo was surrounded by govt troops some weeks ago and today, he is accusing Kanu of murder.

They are not 'excuses'. They are facts. For instance if Israel didn't receive billions a year from the US, they'd be as poor as Yemen, next door. YOU are being naive by simply looking at nations as ''successful'' and ''unsuccessful'' without looking at HOW they arrived at the ''success''. For you, they simply got successful because they are more intelligent, hardworking etc, and the ''unsuccessful'' nations are that way because they are bad, corrupt, stupid, etc.

But that is what we call layman analysis. A very simplistic way of looking at the world.

To analyse nations, you must be familiar with structural sociology, economics, history, and geopolitics, and address their various idiosyncrasies within those parameters.

Indonesia is a progressive muslim country which practices moderate Islam and embraces technology. Northern Nigeria is not irredeemable.

Saying Israel would have been poor if not for US billions shows how ignorant you are about Israel.

Israel is rich because of her technological prowess.

Israel is called, a nation of start ups.

Politics / Re: "Why Nigeria Is Poor" - Ben Bruce by Warship: 12:39am On Apr 21, 2019
bibe:

Our population is indeed the problem, but to understand how, you have to take a closer look at it in terms of economic considerations.

Now our population may not be more than China's but have you considered the fact that the same China has a birth control policy in place? Have you ever wondered why they have refused to remove the policy?

If you look at the Western world, the same is obtainable. From Europe to the US. They started with one man one wife, then through education and now though hypnosis, yes hypnosis (you can never see a Hollywood movie showing you a family with more than 2 kids) It may seem subtle but media controls our thoughts and behaviour for better or worse.

For example look at the proliferation of churches in Nigeria. You'll find that Nollywood is the root cause of it cos almost every movie you see attaches every problem to something spiritual and ends with one clergy carrying out this spirit or that spirit. This affects the people's psyche and boom they start looking for such 'redemption centers'

We can also see the impact of MTV on our youths these days.

Now you say corruption is the problem, have you seen corruption arraigned in courts before? Is not not humans you see being arraigned? The correct assessment is that this population (when not a product of need) is what fuels the corruption in us. Let's face it, every human being is corrupt, but what fuels it and makes it manifest is when he/she lacks access to resources. That's what these other countries have come to realise and had been preaching birth control to those who want to hear.

Based purely on economics of need in this 21st century, I tell you solemnly that no one needs (emphasis on need) more than 2 children. Anything more than that is want satisfaction and if you understand basic economics you'd know already that human wants are insatiable. In other words, we've populated our society with wants which then turns into want induced need later on as those children grow up and will need food, shelter, job and security.

Lemme just end it with a simple analogy, all the world countries are keke drivers. The ones who have less to feed compared to their income will grow and prosper more than the ones who have more to feed compared to their income.

Reflect on it.
..

You nailed it but will they grasp your point.?

frowland:

Well explained thanks. Although I am one of those who was against minimum wage increase. It brings nothing but inflation. Rather, concentrate on rapid development of roads, transportation and health.

There is nothing wrong with increasing minimum wage.

The only problem is Buhari's failure to help boost local production to increase export and reduce import.

No improvement in electricity supply.

No support given to Dangote & Orient so as to speed up the establishment of their refineries.

No stoppage of Fulani terrorists destroying farm lands.

Pls take note Wirinet.
Politics / Re: Buhari Signs New Minimum Wage Bill by Warship: 9:24am On Apr 19, 2019
wirinet:

Basic economics of demand and supply. At 18,000 minimum wage, Nigeria imports about $40 billion worth of goods. If salaries is increased by 50%, demand for imported items is expected to increase (as there are no local industries to bridge the expected increase in demand), thereby leading to increase in demand for dollars to facilitate the imports. There will be upward pressure on the naira.

External reserve is savings for a rainy day or used in emergencies when crude prices crash. It is not used for day to day transactions. A $45 billion can only sustain exports for a couple of months, depending on how bad the oil price crash is. The best way to defend the naira is either to restrict imports or increase local production.

Fuel is expensive in most western nations due to high taxes. They put high taxes on fuel to encourage people use public transportation. Furthermore, high fuel prices will have devastating effects on the socio economic life of Nigerians.

Petrol cannot be compared to diesel. The demand for petrol is way more than that of diesel and besides, lots of our diesel is produced locally (though illegally) in the Niger delta.

Better said than done. We have been trying to fix the power sector for the last 50 years with little progress.

Yet you voted for Buhari in 2015 & 2019 when we presented facts that prove that, APC lacks economic sense.

If a wage is increased from 20k to 30k, what is the percentage increase? Maths professor!

Have you ever seen a payslip of any government official.?

If yes, find out the basic salary and the % of each allowance in respect to the basic salary.

When you do this, you will get the accurate increment.

Wetin you no sabi, keep quiet and ask.
Politics / Re: Buhari Signs New Minimum Wage Bill by Warship: 8:26pm On Apr 18, 2019
frowland:

30k is minimum bro. Lets stop painting the picture that every worker earn 30k. It's the minimum pay for level 1 step 1. Check the increment in percentage and its impressive. 50% increase in salary is actually acceptable. People who earn 20k will now earn 30k, so is 50k will now earn 75k, those on 100k will earn 150k and so on and so fort. Its acceptable as far as am concerned.

What nonsense are you calculating self.

Pls ask questions on how to calculate it.
