Politics / Re: Gunmen Bow To Superior Firepower Of Soldiers In Abia State by Warship: 7:31am On Mar 25, 2021
QuotasSystem:
Some gunmen in Abia State reportedly got more than what they bargained for after a gun duel with soldiers on Wednesday morning.

In the last one month, many security operatives have been shot dead in different across the southern part of the country.

Based on the development, police checkpoints have been dismantled in many areas in the states where security operatives are under attack.

On Wednesday, soldiers from 144 Battalion of the Nigerian Army in Abia, came under attack at Ariaria junction, along the Enugu–Port Harcourt expressway.

After the gun battle, at least 16 gunmen, who are suspected to be members Eastern Security Network (ESN), were killed.

Residents of the area told our correspondent that the gunmen, numbering about 30, engaged the soldiers at their checkpoint.

The soldiers were said to have gathered intelligence before the gunmen struck.

“The soldiers who were fully prepared positioned themselves in strategic places and wait for them. As soon as the gunmen arrived, they opened fire, but the soldiers responded,” a resident said.

However, there are conflicting reports about the number of casualties; while some residents said 16 persons were killed, among them, a soldier, a top military source in Aba said only 11 gunmen were killed and there was no casualty on the side of the army.

“No soldier was killed, but we killed 11 of the gunmen. I assure the public that there was no casualty on the side of the soldiers.” he said.

The Abia State Government commended the soldiers for their gallantry, pledging its commitment to the protection of lives and properties.

Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, who stated this, warned youths of the state not to put themselves in harm’s way by attacking security agents under any guise.

“It is a good development; we welcome every necessary measure to protect the good people of Abia state. We call on our young men and women not to put themselves in harm’s way by attacking security agents under any guise. We also urge them not to allow themselves to be used by politicians for any reason to cause insecurity. Abia state government will do everything possible to protect law-abiding citizens without fear.”

My dear friend, modern planes are not brought down by chance. Such locally made rockets can only accomplish the downing of a military jet by accident, unless they have built-in state of the art sensors and the range. Modern SAMs have inbuilt computer systems that give them a mind or their own or are remote controlled to seek out the planes. I doubt that it is even cost effective to think of manufacturing such locally when the black market is filled with them. In any case, it is not easy to buy war planes when you're not a sovereign nation. What we are saying is that war should not be an option. Obviously, IPOB has the money to buy weapons but at the end of the day, the only beneficiaries are the whites who make these weapons while Africans kill themselves because we lack the sense to avoid war.

So you think only missiles can be used to bring down military aircrafts.?

There is another type of weapon system that can do the job as almost effectively as a missile defense system and cheaper to manufacture

You know I was referring to their improvised navy. Lol that's am Interesting way of saying Oduh stole ship before defecting.

I dont think Ojukwu had to declare Biafra immediately. It woukd be weird not to expect war soon after. Lastly Ojukwu was already sourcing weapons in 1966 in preparation for the war. Israel was on his first go to but they weren't very helpful till 1968.

Ojukwu never sourced for weapons until 1967 when it was too late for mass importation.

If Ojukwu had started sourcing for weapons in 1966 immediately after the counter coup, the war would have ended differently

yeah,I don't know how ipob and ESN high command hopes to prosecute this war wether it's through guerilla means or not,but if what am seeing on ipob YouTube news channels are true as they claim, then I assure u Nigeria are in for a very tough nut to crack, one more thing war is all about strategy, every agitating individual ought to first draw out plans to quickly defeat the Fulani dominated Nigerian army before thinking about secession because it would end up badly.the army recently sent harsh words to Sunday igboho and asari dokubo so that justify my claims

with a good strategy I can assure you that the mighty Nigerian army can be defeated under 72 hours it's not fiction but 100% reality,I would create a neutral thread about that.

True

If ESN can acquire weapons that can destroy the war machineries of the Fulani controlled military, the Nigerian military will definitely be eradicated out of the East forever

War is a function of clout, strategy, endurance, motivation and competence. IPOB may be motivated, but they lack the weapons to prosecute an all drawn out conventional war. As you rightly said, the party that controls the airspace determines the pace of the war. 1967 Biafra stood no chance without weaponry. With foreign powers backing Nigeria, it was only a matter of time before it capitulated, But with asymmetrical conflict such as what ESN would likely do, all parties would get tired of the conflict just as the NA are already tired of BH. Then think of the effect on civilians. Wars are rule-less in Africa so it's better imagined than experienced.

Do you think the Nigerian Military can still control the airspace if ESN is equipped with locally made anti aircraft weapons of various kinds.?

Do you think the Nigerian Military can still control the airspace if ESN develops drones, jet planes and other types of planes.?

I see sense in what u are saying if MNK can't guarantee a total and rapid victory in believe starting a war would be devastating.unless some strong foreign forces are behind him as claimed in ipob media(about isreali forces giving Kanu covert millitary assistance) I don't see Kanu winning a war without airpower I once told someone that argued with me about the civil war,I told him the downfall of biafra ended the day the only B2 bomber planes was destroyed by Nigeria mig-21 around 1967/1968 and that was when the offensive capacity of biafra was handicapped by 70% you don't just jump into war, maybe countries alleged to be supporting Kanu might secretly help him.

The downing of Biafra's B2 bomber wasn't what led to the defeat of Biafra

Official statement said that between Sept - Dec 1969 pilots transporting Biafra's weapons were bribed by the CIA to dump the weapons into the sea and report the reason for the action as being engine problem.

By Dec 1969 when 120,000 Nigerian troops attacked from all angles, the arms & ammunitions needed to repel the attack were at the bottom of the sea.

Based on my own investigation

Biafra lost the war for many reasons and two of such major reasons were the absence of locally made portable anti tank and anti aircraft weapons.

During the war, a British military adviser on the side of the Nigerian Military discovered that it were the tanks and not jet fighters that had the greater devastating effect on Biafra's defense and therefore requested for more tanks since Ogbunigwe shrapnel couldn't penetrate tanks but could stop the blades of jet engines from rotating if it ever successfully gets on the the track of the jet plane, a task which was not easy because of the immobility of earlier version Ogbunigwe.

For ESN to defeat the Nigerian military with ease, Nnamdi Kanu and his team must make it a priority to develop diverse types of anti tanks and anti aircraft weapons that are portable and can achieve success from very long ranges.

I speak Hausa very fluently, I read and write it very well.

I have gone around Hausa blogs on internet today and I see whay you guys dont see. These people have a sense of entitlement on Nigeria.

Ango spoke about recruiting and reinforcing fulanis across West Africa to wage war in Nigeria and he even bragged they would not loose a war. Many Northerners consider Ango Abdullahi one of their heros. A man over 80yr old talking like that....you know there is more going on that they are not speaking aloud for us to hear...or just contained within their own cycle and out of our earshots.

I inflitrated their blog circuits many years ago and even attend social events with some of them.

Yakassai spoke and said he wants Buhari to revisit and immediately start working on 2014 confab. The same man who spoke against it few years ago. So Obasanjo's letter is having effect.

Their blogs are lit up today calling for war.

Let them hurry up and start the War

The last time you guys carried Yoruba wahala for head and decided to do something to help them it bounced back at you .I am talking of the Awolowo-Akintola feud which is no different than the Obasanjo/Afenifere vs Tinibu Yoruba Muslim fiasco

If Tinubu and his band of Yoruba Muslims want to parcel out Yoruba land for fulani colonies , it is up to the remaining few and sane yorubas to fight him .

Already , Odumakin is trying to draw you Igbos into their predicament but not as an ally but rather as a bargaining chip .

You will recall Odumakin making a statement that Yoruba nation will join the Biafran struggle , well he made it as a threat to the north , that the SW will no longer be an ally in opposing Biafra secession . He didn't mean joining Biafra to get Odua republic but rather to "join" biafran struggle to spite Fulani domination .

Rather than Odumakin to find an end to Fulani occupation of Yoruba land by rallying his own people to kick out fulanis, here he is using Biafra secession as a bargaining tool.

You all know how any agreement drawn up with Yorubas on paper is better suited to wipe one's arse given how they betrayed their own end of the agreement to leave Nigeria once Biafra is declared .

You developers must leave the accommodators with their occupiers.

Let them sort their rent agreement .

Slavery !

Dangote's maternal grand father , Dantata was nursed by a slave woman (Tata) whom he got so close to that they named him "Son of Tata".

Same Dantata traded with the British, supplying cotton and groundnut from slave plantations.

Dantata was so successful as a slave plantation operator that when the British opened the first commercial bank in the north (First Bank PLC), Dantata opened an account with 30 strong camel caravans heavy with silver coins .

The essence of this research is not be a mouth for the FG or for Nigerian Immigration or any party but let us set the record right for facts and for posterity... Base on we have seen so far, it seems all the geo zones are captured, I may be wrong and if I am, please correct me, I will look into that...

For S/West... There is the Eyo Masquerade, Yoruba cultural dance
For Igbos... Their cultural dance
For Benin (South) ... Benin Arts
Hausas... The Herdsmen etc
The National Assembly (A unifying factor)
For the South South, I can't recall on this, once I see their representative, I will revert

That's all I can recall for now... But I think all the 6 zones are captured, sentiments apart

he made point saboteur or not. which arms and ammunition will Igbo used to resist the oppressor, you think if everyone was armed in the civil war Nigeria govt we succeed easily?

these miscreants obviously are backed by a strong authority, so telling Igbo to defend themselves without providing them useful arms is just like endangering them to easy defeat war

another point he made was you don't disseminate any defence news to public, prepare and keep it in your mind

we must always reason before action because of those innocents and helpless kids that might be a victim

1) How do you expect our people to be armed if mobilization for finance in order to acquire arms is not made public.?

2) Who and who will know that there is contribution going on to defend our homeland if it is made secret.?

3) How much cash do you think they can mobilize if they keep the contribution secret.?

Remember, this is not anti riot mobilization we tend to have in the North but a full scale War Mobilization to defend our homeland.
