You judge the Doctor..a doctor! by others responding to treatment? If he were your brother with this ignorant mindset this is exactly what will happen to him; he will die. the ones you see at the hospital "responding to treatment", their families manned up and faced the reality that the person they love is very sick. I understand where you are coming from. A typical Nigerian is in denial of mental health issues and we think that "problems" is the reason the person chooses to commit Suicide. No my dear. Depression IS a disease. As bad as Herpes, HIV and cancer. The person's mental state is completely taken over by maniac thoughts and desires. To understand how serious a problem depression, bipolar and Schizophrenia is please watch the movie "A Beautiful Mind". The jumping in to the lagoon is a climax of his state of depression. No he is not selfish. No he is not heartless. He was simply sick. We all failed him. Yes me and you and every Nigerian ignorant of this killer called depression. We don't read. We can spend hours watching reality shows but we won't read fr just 20 minutes each day.

True. Admitting you have a problem and discussing it with family is the first step. I still can't understand how people bottle up such things inside of them. But its totally heartless whatever it is. I know someone who went from overdosing to getting her life back in full. Busy enjoying life now, globe trotting to see kids and grand kids all over the world. It must have still taken some strong inner will and strength. We all need to be strong enough. For me the thought of my family wld kill any suicidal thoughts

Sadly you won't be the one to lecture me about depression. Go to any hospital and see how many people are on admission treating one form of depression or the other. And yes it has everything to do with personal will, same medicine administered to Mr A is given to Mr B but different result. The first step to healing is the strength and believe in you. When life gets tough u need to be tougher. Believe and hope brother works wonders

Depression over wetin. We are all wired differently. Suicide is not an option so many people have battled depression, it is a medical condition, only the cowards end up killing themselves. Go to the hospital and see how many people are battling depression and are responding to treatment. Taking your own life is not the cure rather its a cowardly act that is also very self centered. Crazy self centered people. Anybody that commits suicide does not deserve to rest in peace because you haven't let the living live in peace

There's no worse sucker punch than reality, and it packs a lot of mire with it when it hits hard. Remember you said this. you'll be surprised when matters you seem to view crucial get trivialized then you'll understand we interpret pain differently, and no one out weighs the other in the mind of the victim.

No matter what happens in life, no matter how hard reality punches u in the face suicide is no way to go and it should not be justified. People who commit suicide are the most wicked , selfish and self centered set of people to ever exist. Everything has to work right for them. The situation with this Apostle Suleiman is quite curious.
On the one side the coincidence; him getting exposed not long after going against el rufai could easily be perceived to be a revenge plot.

On the other side the said Apostle is of questionable character and fits the bill of a sexual predator.

Judging by the Apostle's reaction and immediate counter suit, one wonders if a supposed MOG couldn't leave the fight for God (as a model christian), why so concerned about money (1 Billion naira), why such desperate measures to paint himself holy?

Truth is nobody holy pass, especially MOG, he just got himself politically exposed.
Sadly christians prefer living in denial on matters involving MOG.

I don't trust a lot of pastors but many factors seems to make Ms Otobo's claims questionable which people hardly seem to notice:

1. The lady claims there was a kind of introduction/traditional marriage. This is one area her claims flaws greatly. Someone as well known as Pastor Sulaiman cannot do a traditional marriage without it hitting blogs and evening newspapers at least. Someone among the attendees will certainly leak it.

2. Traditional marriage of that caliber must evidently have at least a picture or video.

3. A relationship that intimate as the girl claims should at least have one picture of the two together in loved up postures and not just a snapchat photoshop that says nothing.

4. The girls dad totally denied her claims even when she involved her dad in her video testimony.

5. How come all these things are happening at a time some powerful folks are after the downfall of the pastor.

6. No fake Nigerian pastor will want to divorce his wife and marry a stripper because in an effort to hide their hypocrisy there are certain things they wouldn't publicly do.


All I'm simply saying is that the girls stories do not add up at all. Even when you listen to her video testimony, the way she's stuttering and fumbling and her lack of cordination easily showcases an individual trying hard to arrange lies.

However I always leave a room for doubt if I hear stories like this in case I'm wrong.

Do not mess with politicians, they wld bring you down like a pack of cards.

I have been trying to stay strong consciously and unconsciously. But the fear just creeps in

Sometimes in October 2015, I was a victim of extreme police brutality along a very lonely and deserted road. Till date it remains the most traumatic experience I have had.After the incident I reported to the right quarters and I got all the policemen involved locked up for 2 weeks. I felt so good with myself as the policemen kept calling me from the cell asking me to pls forgive them and help secure their release.
The problem here now is that ever since the incident, I have been traumatized and can't find any help on what to do. Every time I approach a police point I break a sweat, my heart skips a beat and I am always very terrified.
There doesn't seem to be an end to the problem no matter how hard I try to fix it.
Useful suggestions would be appreciated.
The SARS Drama
Was coming from Lagos to ilorin. Almost getting into ilorin I ran into the daredevils, they pulled me over. My only offence was that I was driving a very nice car(wasn't even my car, it was my moms car) checked the papers and started saying all this game boys u go register car for your mama name abi, your mama nah thief, we go lock u and your mama up and all sorts. All of a sudden he started beating me saying I should confess to been a game boy,( I didn't even know what that meant at the time) gave me uncountable slaps, when I refused to accept he put a cutlass to my neck, teargas canister to my nose and pointed his gun at me uncountable times. Fast forward after about 2hrs of torture they gave me my phone and wallet that was earlier seized but not with the money I had in it. Very traumatic experience. I wanted to hide it first cos I felt belittled but thank God I spoke up and I got my pound of flesh
