Foreign Affairs › Re: How Russia & China Will Oust America & Europe From Africa by Watcharena: 1:18pm On Aug 28, 2023
b4ball:
This type of argument is the most foolish disposition when it comes to issues like this. Bringing up migration when policies are discussed! Firstly, if your country was good, would there by mass migration out? A foreign power colonizes a people for centuries, continue an exploitative relationship, when people revolt, you say which visa would you prefer? Shame! If the country was good, who would want to relocate?

So China/Russia supports sit tight governments, pls who has kept Biya in power for over 3 decades?

How some of you leave the crux of the matter to chase shadows is the reason we are still where we are as a nation. You ignored the resources looting part! Nigeria gets 60% of the value of crude IOCs officially extracts and exports based on international price of crude. In Niger; France gives 15% of the value of uranium taken out at a value of $11, whereas uranium is even selling above $200 in the international market. So even if France does resale, it would be mega rich while Niger remains perpetually poor.

Small Niger of how many people don’t have light; what will it have taken France to build its electricity capacity even if on a credit facility?

The west has had a relationship with Africa for more than 400 years, please show us the tangible results we have! If they must give you loans, you have to allow Steve to wed Steve. You must totally align your foreign policies with theirs like lectures delivered to a school boy, you must give their coys preferential rights of first refusal over your resources.

In less than 3 decades, thousands of kilometers of roads, bridges, airports, dams, seaports(lekky deep sea inclusive), railways have been financed all over Africa by Chinese credit. In all these, they never lectured anyone, their own is just trade. They never meddled in our policies.

Do you know if not for Chinese trade, basic things like phones, basic electronics and appliances would have been an exclusive reserve for the rich? Because they west totally designed Africa to be the dumping ground of whatever they have phased out in the name of tokunbor or direct Belgium. They never wanted even their waste to go to waste. It was good enough for Africans.

Someone foolishly mentioned debt trap, so US and Europe is not owing China? Development is financed by credit for god’s sake. That’s the reason the IMF and world bank was even created. But the west began to attach their evil conditions to it again.

So in your mind, so long we can get visas to japa, the westerners have done us a huge favor? You see why Nigeria will never be good! Because people like you exist!
that migration issue is the funnest part, the west will try to ensure a country is kept under extreme hardship so that the brilliant ones can migrate to the west and develop it for them ,I can remember when Boris Johnson was calling Russian scientists to migrate to UK since Russia is under heavy sanctions by the west, that was at the beginning of SMO in Ukraine when Russia fired the first hypersonic missile in Ukraine and almost the same period US had a failed test for their hypertension weapon test.

The bottom line is that migration can't be used when talking about trade relation between world powers and Africa

The West are no saints....granted, but they are a million times more preferable to autocratic Russia and China! The African leaders courting Russia and China....give them the option to relocate with their families to either the West or Russia/China and you'll see it wouldn't even be a contest...the West would be their overwhelming preference, gay or no gay! Besides, African leaders are only courting Russia and China for unwholesome reasons....not just because they owe China or are looking for more cheap funds, but also because they know Russia and China, having autocratic gov'ts and less freedoms and respect for the rule of law, don't normally question those crooked African leaders or their gov'ts criminality or malfeasance in office!

Also, Russia and China courting Africa is not out of some new found love, but because they see African countries as pawns in their game of chess with the West!

Finally, don't mistake the sentiments, actions and utterances of greedy, corrupt and sit-tight African leaders to represent those of their people! Given a choice between both sides, their people know between the West and Russia/China which side they'd prefer to live in!
migrating to us or Russia is not even something to put on the equation, you have to consider a lot of variables when migrating, language is on of it,weather is also one living is some parts of Russia is like living in deep freezer many NIgerians can not survive that ,how many NIgerians can speak the Russian language

Again when Chinese people are trading with Africans they don't come here to change your style of government or impose their culture on you but you can't say the same of the west.

Don't be fool, they are only after Thier interest. Believe me they are not your friend
They're after their interest fine but they won't impose it on you like the west ,you can imagine recently NATO official said they will dived Brazil in to 5 because Brazil refuse to send weapons to Ukraine.

When china is giving you loan they won't force you to change you laws or devalue your currency.

Chinese people are only after business and nothing more but the west want to dominate you by giving you loans with very hash conditions

fxexperts:
I understand what you are saying, but i just tried to correct the first point you said dollar is going high, because the value of the dollar has been pretty kind of constant and it is Naira that is losing value, not only against the dollar but also against the Chinese Yuan, the Euro, pounds and all the world major currency. Even if the Chinese Yuan was the world most reserve currency like the Dollar, going by our economic nightmare Naira will still be losing value.
And for the second point, i do not think any country at the moment has the capacity to make their currency the world reserve currency like the dollar at the moment. If you talk about BRIC, my only answer is let them try, but i do not think they will succeed, because these guys do not trust themselves enough to succeed. Their first major challenge will be whose currency are they going to adopt for the single recognized currency for the BRICS and secondly if all the BRICS country decide to dump their local currency and formulate a one currency system, then the question will be who is going to be controlling the currency.
Crypto currency would have been the game changer, because like what they told us it was supposed to replace the US dollar and it is not controlled by any government, but so far crypto has failed to compete with the dollar on all fronts.
I really do not think we Nigeria should be praying for the downfall of the dollar, because regardless of the country whose currency replaces the dollar, Naira is still most definitely going to suffer. We just have to look for ways to boost our economy and make the Naira stronger, that is the only and best way to go.
At the moment i see Nigeria praying for the downfall of the US as that poor lazy brother of a rich man in the village, who spends all his energy marrying many wives, drinking and getting drunk without going to work and wishing his fortune will turn around if the wealthiest man in his village dies and someone else takes up that position as the village richest man. The poor man has refused to work, he fails to farm, but he is praying for a miracle. I think that is what we called Witchcraft in Africa.
you are missing some points about brics and the entire international exchange system smaller nations are counting on

Brics have alot of options, they can transact with their local currencies,if country A want to buy something from country B ,then country A will have to buy it in country B's currency with this they eliminate the dollar charges and possibility of been sanction by US at will .

Another option is to adapt hold for international settlement of transactions.some one said US can infuse more gold to crash the price but brics can buy that gold and use it as foreign reserve US will not be able to infuse gold into the market for more than three times in order to avoid shortage back at home considering that indian women alone are holding more Gold than the entire US gold reserve .

The point in general is that when two countries are trading they don't need a third party's currency unless if it's absolutely necessary and agreed by the two parties involved

BRICS is an organisation that simply wouldn't last.

They've been here for 15 years and have barely made a mark. Instead member countries have seen their growths all stunted. Brazil, Russia and South Africa.

Not to talk about the fact that member countries are basically countries with very deep animosity between themselves.

Saudi Arabia vs Iran (who sponsors Yemen's war against Saudi). India vs Russia who are in active hostilities in their borders. Brazil vs Argentina, the main continental rivals in South America with multi-decades animosity amongst themselves, Ethiopia embroiled in a current and active civil war within itself.

It's basically a coalition of enemies within themselves whose only joint ambition is being "ANTI-WEST".

Unlike the very powerful G7 whose common bond is their commitment to democracy and being wealthy. Japan,Canada, US, Germany, UK and France. All healthy democracies.

BRICS wouldn't last simply because China shoulders the vast financial responsibilities and China is actually still poor in terms of GDP per person, just like India.

For example, 2 families might be worth 1 million dollars, but if one family is just a family of 4 and the other is a family of 10, you can tell which is actually richer and can afford more luxurious needs. China would never be able to do what the United States does on a global stage , they just can't. Especially with their economy now slowing down rapidly and the west decoupling from them.
bricks is poor in your opinion, check their GDP to that of G7 and come out with fact and not opinion.

Again I have not seen where Russia and India are engaged in hostilities

I followed that event closely. Immediately after that deal, IMF sent a representative (US citizen) to Nigeria. They came to stregthen ties and made phantom promises. Nigerian Southerners plus the Middle-belt people need to subdue and expell the core North. It's possible look at India and how the Hindus and managed to keep the muslims in line. Nigerians need to sterilise the Muslim population and kill the Muslim leaders. Look at watch China is doing with the Uighur. The Uighur were terrorising the Han Chinese people. The Chinese have been wiping them out.
it's easier said than done .

I'm sure this is coming from some one that has never held a fire arm

All I see in requirements here is;
1.Regional or strategic influence
2. Economic trajectory

Nigeria has very little or growing regional influence and a very volatile economy, their contributions to BRICS will be little or none
it has nothing to do with regional influence but rather the ability of a nation to make independent decision without foreign or western influence in particular,if not Ethiopia it self is not influencial

No, Nigeria cannot be admitted because all countries who are puppets of the West are not allowed to join the BRICS
you're right in every ramifications. NIgeria is not capable of making independent decision without western influence.

I can remember some years back NIgeria wanted currency swap With china as our biggest trade partner, all arrangements were made everything was finalized, but at the end I don't know how NIgeria pulled out of that deal because of western influence.

the black followers anti west but our leaders are pro-west because they're beneficiaries of western exploitations of the black.

You said bricks will not make it out ,but I can tell you it's already working it will grow slowly, it's working in the fact that the west intended to isolate Russia and destroy bit in their normal way before they move to the next target like they way they did in Cuba, Venezuela ,and so many other countries but today all bricks countries are trading with Russia normally with out restrictions

Superiority in media ,because logically ,every enemy country is bad but if US enemies can not use media to paint US bad ,then it simply means that their media sophistication is low compare to the US ‘s
you're wrong not every country want to paint another country bad , china does not seek to paint US bad.its only UD that seek to paint countries they don't like as bad .

Another thing is language barrier , Africa was colonised by the west so we speak their language and not that of china or so
