You lots are funny, you expected Ukraine to cowardly give up their territories, and since they chose to rather fight, it doesn't sit well with most of you.

Russia isn't who we thought they are. They have become highly dependent on China and even use Yuan for international trade, you don't realize how bad Russia has fallen, the relationship between Russia and China has become an unequal one, with China the leader and Russia the follower.

Russia has been far weakened than they would admit and would require years to get back to the pre war Russia.

Internationally, they have lost influence, who would have thought Ukraine would attack mainland Russia so boldly, Putin brought this upon himself.

Ukraine is an independent sovereign nation, not as state under Russia and hence should be allowed to determine their destiny, all the time they were allied with Russia, they were the poorest nation in Europe, so wanting to join the EU is for their benefit, especially if Russia couldn't offer them a better deal but wanted them to remain under their control.

Sentiments aside, if you was the president of Ukraine and Russia wants to annex your land cos they people want a better standard of living, annexing your most industrious cities having already annexed Crimea, and no certainty that they would stop there, would you rather fight or give up your territories with no assurance they won't be back for more.
