Please have this man ever started a successful business without the help of government contracts. Somebody who has built a business empire by himself and succeeded is advising u and u, really there talking trash instead of you to learn. This has always been our problem, we don't create policies that would enhance human capital development. Healthcare, education are of course the basics as every child has right to education and healthcare.so if we are lacking in these areas we are doomed. I always say it, our politician have to come together and throw away their selfish interest to make things work in this country bcoz they are the problem.

To my mind a person with a Bsc In Civil Engineering who cannot supervise a road project is not educated. The Abokiwho makes Suya is ver education.

Education therefore is the acquisition of competence Knowledge and or skill that can produce economic output. Education can and should include training in tailoring,shoemaking, garri making etc as well as exposure to international advancements and technology.

My PAYE tax is deducted at source by my employers and remitted directly to the tax authorities, while my tax clearance card gets updated regularly. And yes, I live in a neighbourhood where we still fix our roads, because waiting for govt to do so, would mean waiting for eternity. This is because my neighbours and I cannot allow the potholes become craters, so that they do not damage our cars and lead us to spend far greater sums of money fixing such cars.

When the govt or its agencies who are supposed to fix the roads, have neglected to do so, despite repeated notifications and constant complaints to the relevant parties, do you expect me and my neighbours to hold a gun to the heads of the staff of those govt agencies, to get the roads fixed? So why da heck are you talking as if payment of taxes leads to an automatic provision of services or utilities, by the govt, in Nigeria?

In my area, we also contribute money to dig boreholes in order to get water, and also install treatment plants to purify such water, because govt has failed again to provide such facilities.

In my area, we buy generators and fuel to power it, because govt has failed to provide power 24x7. So yes, we subsidise the inefficiencies and poor service delivery we receive from govt agencies. And because our funds and our patience is not inexhaustible, we draw the line at being asked to pay more for services that have failed to improve over the years.

Like I asked you before: "Govt has spent millions/trillions on the power sector since 2009, with little or nothing to show for it. What on earth makes you think that if the masses are exploited to pay more for the current state of epileptic power supply, anything would improve?"

When GSM came, Obj allowed MTN, and co to charge high prices (My dad got his first sim in 2003 for N10000). We ALL complained...but those high GSM fees netted the GSM companies the amount of money to make improvements...which led to price crashing.

Either we pay for light from our pockets.....or we take another loan from Mama IMF that our great grand children will still be paying. Your choice.The amount of money to fix the thing is plenty...and we dont have a choice.
