People are angry against buhari,s government bcoz of slot of reasons, For the masses 1.hunger(no money in circulation go and ask the painter, plumber, mechanic etc whether there is work. People are dying of hunger. 2.for those with supposed job. Take home pay doesn't take anybody home again. Bcoz before it gets home things like fuel, price of foodstuff, electricity cost etc has taken it before it even gets home. And these is for good private companies and govt that pays regularly but u and I know most jobs only pay at least once in three months. 3.forex( u can come and meet dollar at 150-200 and now it double and expect people to clap for u). 4.this buhari appointees are always in a hurry to take out their frustrations on the masses like 300% increase in electricity cost, old vehicle should go and do custom papers etc. Bede2u: the current pple are against buhar because of wat? |

I wouldn't, say buhari is involved in all these conspiracy but I thing there are people in his government that are making a fortune from these deals, because this group kidnapping are mere ragtag groups and not the real Boko Haram. duni04: This is the most self indicting and stupid comment on nairaland today 25th of March. My brother God bless ur wisdom. When I say there is something seriously wrong with the black man, people don't believe me. 0monnak0da: When we talk about "education" there are a lot of misconceptions.
To my mind a person with a Bsc In Civil Engineering who cannot supervise a road project is not educated. The Abokiwho makes Suya is ver education.
Education therefore is the acquisition of competence Knowledge and or skill that can produce economic output. Education can and should include training in tailoring, shoemaking, garri making etc as well as exposure to international advancements and technology.
Our people also need enlightenment in the role of the firm as a vehicle for wealth creation. I find it amazing when I study the profiles of companies and discover they were created in 1890 1900 1904 etc.
There is no oil in France but they have Total operating in Nigeria. Why .
The firm serves as a vehiccle of transmission of knowledge from one generation to another whilst containing that knowledge within the firm or country as the case may be
To undersstand Nigeria we must understand the firm Unilever which is the oldes company in the country. Those who are curious should research the history |

If we keep ignoring these things Nigeria will never be a better place that is why we must hold our leaders accountable. I have been paying for buying of poles for my community to patching of potholes on our road but I decided to put a stop to it when this same government people came to mount roadblock to collect local government revenue on that same road. If the people in France did not stand up to their leaders do you think that France would be where it is today. Dubai another close example. The day my boss blasted me that we Nigerian youth to know our priority and all what we think about is how to make money ,marry and raise familes in a country we provide our electricity, water ,healthcare etc I agreed with him. He said if this was happening in Europe there would have been a revolution and I agreed. LaudableXX: Your comment is not just daft, it is clueless. So if you live in a neighbourhood, and govt does not fix the potholes in the roads within that neighbourhood, what would you advocate? Ignore the potholes until they become craters, so that your car keeps getting damaged each time you pass through the road, and you spend huge sums fixing that car, each time this happens? Or pool a few resources together with other members of your community, so that you can fix the potholes using joint community effort? Which one?

It people like u that has made this country backward. Youth of our generation. Spew. LaudableXX: I pay my taxes and I have been doing so for years, ever since I started my career. My PAYE tax is deducted at source by my employers and remitted directly to the tax authorities, while my tax clearance card gets updated regularly. And yes, I live in a neighbourhood where we still fix our roads, because waiting for govt to do so, would mean waiting for eternity. This is because my neighbours and I cannot allow the potholes become craters, so that they do not damage our cars and lead us to spend far greater sums of money fixing such cars.
When the govt or its agencies who are supposed to fix the roads, have neglected to do so, despite repeated notifications and constant complaints to the relevant parties, do you expect me and my neighbours to hold a gun to the heads of the staff of those govt agencies, to get the roads fixed? So why da heck are you talking as if payment of taxes leads to an automatic provision of services or utilities, by the govt, in Nigeria?

If you do all the above then you are part of the problem in this country. Do you know how many people cannot afford to eat even 1 square meal a day and we have politicians been paid 13.5m monthly. The youths of this country are definitely the problem. Go and read about the French revolution and u will understand y France is a better country. LaudableXX: Another daft comment from you. You carefully dodged my last question, and came back to rattle some more junk, in a bid to sound enlightened. But you failed woefully.
Yes, in my area we fix potholes and do not wait for govt, despite the fact that we pay toll gate charges to get enter and exit the area. In my area, we contribute money to fix our inner roads, because govt has failed woefully to do so.
In my area, we also contribute money to dig boreholes in order to get water, and also install treatment plants to purify such water, because govt has failed again to provide such facilities.
In my area, we buy generators and fuel to power it, because govt has failed to provide power 24x7. So yes, we subsidise the inefficiencies and poor service delivery we receive from govt agencies. And because our funds and our patience is not inexhaustible, we draw the line at being asked to pay more for services that have failed to improve over the years.
Like I asked you before: "Govt has spent millions/trillions on the power sector since 2009, with little or nothing to show for it. What on earth makes you think that if the masses are exploited to pay more for the current state of epileptic power supply, anything would improve?"

My friend tell the senator representing you to push for a cut in salaries and allocation of all politicians.Don,t tell Nigerians to pay more for electricity. If these guys can cut their spending we will surely have more to invest in government private partnership in the power sector, just like what is been done in the oil sector. These country u, really comparing what is their minimum wage compare to Nigeria. Wat is average purchasing power here compare to Ghana. So just keep quiet. Cromcruach91: So how do we pay for electricity?
Is it from oil that we are not earning enough cash from? That we need at $140 per barrel before we can say we have the cash plenty?
Or is it from agric or mines...that are going to take time to get back on stream?
I think you guys want us to take another IMF loan....
When GSM came, Obj allowed MTN, and co to charge high prices (My dad got his first sim in 2003 for N10000). We ALL complained...but those high GSM fees netted the GSM companies the amount of money to make improvements...which led to price crashing.
Either we pay for light from our pockets.....or we take another loan from Mama IMF that our great grand children will still be paying. Your choice. The amount of money to fix the thing is plenty...and we dont have a choice. |
