It is obvious that Lagos has become unsafe. With too many unprofessional policemen with lost priority, crime is steadily on the increase.

Just last Saturday at abt 1900hrs this young trader was trailed down to my street. Probably having made a late sale, he was having N1.6M in his car boot. He tried to be smart with the robbers when intercepted and threw his car key into the gutter. Becoming obvious that they could not get the car key to open the locked boot, the robbers pulled 3 shoots on the boot which finally flung open with a smiling N1.6M staring at them. I guess because of the tough time the victim gave to them, they pulled the 4th shot on the waist of the man before they finally zoomed off with their bike. Thanks for the swift intervention of neighbours that came to the man's rescue. When the master of the victim was contacted the first thing he asked was 'what abt my money, I hope nothing has happened to my money.........' What a world!!

Returning home again on Tuesday after a hard day's work....just alighting the mile2 bridge from Apapa to connect the ever busy badagry expressway, here comes again another gang of the underworld. In the thick of the traffic, they held my car starring and demanded for the money they never gave me to keep. The same money I had toiled for all day yet i no see.........'where the money, guy drop..............'At that moment I just knew I had to play along as an IMSU boy wey live for Bishop’s court for 4years. ‘Guy relax, anyi n’ile wu guys! Why U come de harass me, if U want make I find U something, U tell me, no be to come de harass me’. That was when they calmed down…….come begin say oya, drop something. Immediately, I followed up with the verse 2 of my sermon, ‘the other day some of ur men meet me here and I gladly gave them money when they asked. Wetin happen now be say I no hold cash but next time, Una be guymen and Una need am, but next time. The summary was that they left murmuring but the irony of it was that just on that same bridge were some policemen brutalizing a bikeman just to cease his bike………….. The same misplaced priority.

On this same Tuesday I had my experience, my colleague was not fortunate. Returning home in his Toyota Hilander SUV, at the same mile2 but down the bridge as he used the Orile route, this same gang or maybe a different, confronted him in the traffic. His glasses were rolled up, but they broke the driver’s side and began reigning punches on his face and chest……………..pulled him out of the car, collected the phones of the lady in the passenger’s side riding home with him………………………This my colleague has not been able to make it to work since then due to the pains he sustained.

Just today again, we heard another sad news. One of the punctual birds we have in the office, we were told was robbed on her way to the office this morning. We arrived the office as usual hoping to see her but was greeted with the presence of a stranger that brought the sad news with her photos . In the photos one could see her face covered in blood. It was like they removed her face and gave her another. At first I doubted she was the one, but again, her statue and complexion made me to agree she was the one. I also recognised the hairstyle she was wearing the previous day. I began to ask, was it that she fought with the criminals? Or did they know her before now and had it in mind to inflict injuries on her? Where is the security? Where are the policemen? I know where they are…………..I saw them at festac this morning on ma way to the office, they pulled me over and asked for my car particulars after being satisfied with his checks, he was asking me for a tip……… e just be me like say make I use backhand for him face.

It’s the ember period again, lets all be careful and vigilant.

Just watched the video clip of what happened at the Rivers state house. Its a shame...............a very big shame. U need to see how one of the members was beaten and mace used several times to hit his head. Even the police was videoed beating a member to tell U that there is superior drum beating for them at the background. I want to believe there is no federal government interference in Rivers state.

This is really a shame. Nigeria, we have lost it. Its a big shame to our democracy. In my opinion, I think we should just go back to the military rule.
