I go to church occasionally, but I am a backbencher. I dont belong to any society, neither do I attend any post church service meetings. infact, I have a strong aversion to the term 'man of God', because it makes me feel like I am dealing with a con artist. Back to the topic, I understand why you stopped attending church service, and truthfully, I'd do the same. The woman could have just refused your request outrightly instead of trying to play with your emotions. My sister used to say that if you want to have a feeling of what politics feel like, go to church. It's a pity that the church has been politicised, and it is one of the reasons for the constant decay in our society.

I don't think it is fair to suggest that the man's sister take care of her mother. She has her own life just as he does. They could both take turns in personally caring for their mother... after all, she is their mother, not just their sister's mother.

Yep, you are right. But I was looking at from the angle where he felt it was his wife's responsibility and not his sister's. Besides, there is no way he can care for his mom without involving his wife. Infact, the bulk of the duties would be on the wife and not on him.

Moreover, it was stated that the man has an elder sister, and so it's fair that the sister should take care of her mom since they share a blood relationship.
