Nothing Jesus taught us agrees with God threatening to kill your innocent child if you change denomination. As a matter of fact, Jesus never created denominations, men did!

Students didn't protest about what's distracting their educational exploits but concerned themselves with Abuja demolition!
Misplaced priority!
It's your thinking that is misplaced.
So, you just believe what the "reports" says??
Are they not citizens? why can't they protest against Abuja demolition?
If you think it's wrong for them to protest any perceived issues with governance, then you deserve every suffering you get resulting from Nigeria's bad leadership.

You won't know, but your friends will have a hard time being in your company.

HealthRe: How Do I Stop My Friend From Using Sex-enhancement Drugs? (photo) by WeirdAlien:
Enhancement drugs should be for much older people. Not young guys.

Reason:
If you start using them in your 20s or 30s, by the time you get to 40, you'll be battling erectile dysfunction unless you use them.
If you can't last 30 minutes on one round without any drugs, you're not living a healthy life - physically and/or mentally. If you really want to last long, you can, without any enhancements - just train your mind/body.

You can't stop him. Just tell him the truth - it's up to him to work on himself or not.
Foreign AffairsRe: Presidents Don’t Run America — Putin Makes Bold Claim by WeirdAlien: 3:36pm On Jun 07, 2025
America has ruling families.
They start grooming their children from young to become senators, supreme court justices, or presidents. Every school they attend, courses they study, military service, and friendship associations are premeditated.
Usually, one child will focus on the family business while the other will focus on politics, and another on law. Or they'll have very close family friends focusing on something they don't have within.
At the end, they'll all be helpful to themselves to reach the top.

That's not critiscm but foolishness! Why can't you go and protest at Abuja or better take him to court for performing a lawful duty?
This is the mentality that has brought the Nigeria to its knees under nonsense leadership. You're probably quite young to know some things.
In those days up to early 2000s, the SUG excos will mobilize students from Awo Hall to block the minister's vehicle from leaving the campus until those students are released.
In that same OAU, Obasanjo was locked up in the toilet in 1999 by students. He became president a few months later and nothing happened.
LAUTECH SUG excos once blocked a sitting governor (Lam Adesina) from entering his vehicle on campus, and he had to trek with them till he got outside. The same students once blocked a governor's convoy (Bukola Saraki) from passing the town, and he had to turn back to Ilorin and find an alternative route.

This is indicative of the fact that every public office holder is accountable to the people, they're not kings or lords you can't challenge or protest against, anytime, anywhere!

I'm saying this so you know how much respect was given to university students. Now, they're treated like shit.

The absurdity is trying to defend his teachings using the police. That is the sign of a man who is afraid of losing his followers. If what you preach is genuine and true, your truth will prevail no matter how they misquote you.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s Crude Export To US Hit Highest Level In 6 Years by WeirdAlien: 8:03am On Jun 03, 2025
What happens if we build capacity to export refined petroleum instead??
We'd be selling a much pricey commodity and boost GDP. The shorter supply of crude oil will drive up the global price, which in turn drives up the prices of refined products. And we will be making a lot more money than we're making now.
Raw materials seller will always be poorer than finished products seller.
Any sensible govt will focus energy on exporting valuable refined petroleum, not cheap crude oil.
Christianity EtcRe: Q&A: Can A God Who Kills Still Be Portrayed As Loving And Merciful? by WeirdAlien: 2:09pm On Jun 01, 2025
Can an engineer who destroys corruptible robots out of his factory line not be portrayed as loving an merciful?

We're nothing but clay in the porters house. He can mould beautiful ceramic plates or toilet bowls, or break down less desired bottles to mold something else. Can the plate say to the porter, you're wicked for destroying the bottle to make a WC?

Imagine an AI questioning the programmer for shutting down computers that contain other AIs that don't serve his desired purpose?

God made you. His wisdom is higher than your wisdom so you can't possibly judge Him by your tiny ignorance you call knowledge. Look at the universe He created, and HOW TINY THE EARTH IS COMPARED TO EVERYTHING ELSE, like a drop of water in the oceans. But yet, He chose to love and have mercy on you if you seek Him out. Isn't that a miracle??

This is how I would answer anyone who asks me that question.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Don't We Have Miracles As Recorded In Acts Of Apostles And Bible? by WeirdAlien: 1:44pm On Jun 01, 2025
We really don't know. Not one pastor or G.O. can tell us exactly why - but just theories based on their own doctrines.
A few (common) reasons:
1. Signs and wonders happen for people to believe in God's power, especially when they're hearing about Jesus for the first time! That's why there's usually more miracles during crusades remote places. And why when non-believers come to church because of an illness, they receive their healing with a flash!

2. Modern technology and civilization has reduced people's faith in miracles, which mostly happens when human understanding can't solve the problem. When you know "Coatem" will cure your malaria, you'd likely not be in "Shiloh" expecting a miracle. It is when your doctors have reached the limits of their expertise that you start hoping for a miracle. In fact, if you can't afford good healthcare, you'd likely be channeling your faith to raising the money for hospital bills, rather than a miracle healing.

3. Science has made a mockery of faith by offering an explanation to everything, and claiming it will explain tomorrow what it cannot explain today! So people seriously doubt miracles can work . Even the Bible says Jesus could not perform many miracles somewhere because the people lacked faith. That itself is a big factor - the less you see miracles, the less you believe in miracles, and less miracles happen. The cycle continues over generations.

4. There's a theory that Jesus has already returned, and scriptures indicating it have been lost/destroyed/hidden. Though, this is a long shot, we're not so sure of what we may have missed. We only know what we know - we don't know what we don't know. Maybe this doesn't make sense though.
Christianity EtcRe: Is It Okay For Someone Who Is Fasting To Take Holy Communion? by WeirdAlien:
infantrydoctor:
I just need this little clarification. Our great men and women of God in the house. Please is it okay for someone who's fasting to take holy communion during the service?
Sure!

But that largely depends on your personal faith.

First, fasting itself doesn't make your prayers get answered - it just makes you more sensitive in your spirit so that you can pray with more focus, and be tuned to hear God more clearly (both during and after the fast). It's denying your flesh of what gives it power to influence your spirit. This is why people do "white fasting" by eating bland foods that your flesh dislikes.

Second, holy communion is a spiritual food. If you search yourself and eat it in remembrance of Jesus, as His flesh and blood, it won't give your body the strength to distort your spirit, but instead make your flesh stay in submission to the power of the Spirit.

Third, fasting is not only about not eating food. It should involve seclusion and mediation throughout the days you do. Let's take a cue from the example of Jesus - he went into the wilderness and was alone for 40 days and nights - he wasn't planking wood in his dad's carpentry workshop or gisting with his cousins about the wickedness of the Roman soldiers. He was alone! To reap the full benefits of fasting, you might consider taking leave from work and locking up yourself in a room all day if you can't go into a forest, or travel. Focus, read and meditate on God's word concerning your major prayer points.

Fourth, God loves us, much more than we know. He told Daniel that "since the day you set your heart to seek the Lord, He has already sent the answer to the prayer you want to pray about." For us Christians, He answers our prayers based on our faith in Jesus, not by the efforts we put into the prayer. God is only interested in your heart.

Finally, shift your focus from the right and wrong phenomenon. But instead, focus on what the Holy Spirit is leading you to do.
Peace.

Amayabor1:
You still do not get it and I will explain.

1. Like I told you before, the UK has never based its immigration policies on whatever is happening in the US. Both countries are not even close. Both are not in the same continent that you will say what UK does will affect the US or what US does will affect the UK. US has no issues with immigration. So I don't know what US is doing that will be giving the UK more confidence to limit immigration. Pasts and present US governments do not have policies to limit people from coming to the US. Their own is that don't come through the southern border. So, where is UK getting it's confidence from? If the US is trying to limit legal immigration into the US, you can say the UK is learning from them. But that's not the case. Moreover, it is Trump who has really made immigration (illegal immigration) a big issue in the US. The UK for years (well before Trump became president) has always come up with one immigration policy or the other. So, I don't know why you think the UK will need to get confidence from the US when the US is not doing what the UK is doing immigration wise and when the UK has been enacting several immigration policies for years, long before illegal immigration became a topic in the US.

Your last statement actually buttresssed my point. European countries can copy each other because they share land borders. But nothing concerns the US or Canada with immigration issues in the UK. So, when you say Canada copies the UK in immigration issues, it is laughable. If UK close its borders, you can't just walk into Canada because Canada is not in Europe. You will have to undergo all the rigorous process for visa application just like people from other countries. The UK has only one land border, and that is with Ireland. So, what happens in Ireland can affect what happens in UK in terms of immigration, so both countries can copy each other. But to say Canada that is not even close to the UK is copying UK immigration policies is funny.

All the other talk about UK labor laws, ILR etc are not what we are talking about. My point is that European countries can copy each other in terms of immigration so people from one country does flood the other country. But not Canada. It's like saying Australia copies UK immigration policies.
I see you have trouble understanding. Or maybe you never read my comments.

Immigration matters don't gain much media attention within the UK. But the moment Trump was building walls (first term), immigration talks started trending in UK media. Now again that US is talking (since the Trump campaigns), immigration talks became even louder in UK, everyday GBN is all about it. They express more moral justification for introducing more restrictions.

UK doesn't have land borders but thousands arrive by sea in boats, seeking asylum, Ukrainian refugees were taken in, Afghanistans too, and other Arabs. I live here, I know what's going on. Despite that, most immigration restrictions are for workers and students to pay more - not to prevent them from coming - it's all a smokescreen by the govt.

Also, you need to understand that globally, immigration from less developed countries are mostly from India, Pakistan and the middle East - those people are a experts in circumventing any country's immigration policies. The have strong community ties unlike Africans. So once a country closes its borders, they will simply switch to another. Doesn't matter if it's Europe or America - they will get there. They have strong networks.

US on one side. Canada is the next most attractive English speaking country to immigrants after UK. So they take cues from what UK is doing.

Foreign AffairsRe: Canada Tightens Foreign Workers Rules As Nigerians, Others Risk Deportation by WeirdAlien: 8:59am On May 27, 2025
Amayabor1:
Stop lying. The UK's immigration policies has never been tied to US immigration actions. The US generally have no issues with immigration. They have issues with illegal immigration at their southern border with Mexico. You will never hear the US say they want to reduce the number of immigrants coming into the US for studies (like UK and Canada). If you are legit, you can enter the US. The US has never had an issue with legal immigration. But for Canada and the UK, they have reduced legal immigration into their countries and the UK is taking it a step further by making you spend 10 years in the UK before you get an ILR. Saying the UK has more confidence to limit immigration when the US does something similar shows you don't know what you are talking about as the US doesn't limit immigration. They are trying to limit illegal crossing at their southern border unlike the UK that just don't want anyone to come to the UK, whether legal or illegal.

Also saying Canada is always trying to copy the UK shows you have no knowledge of the issue at hand. All these countries are trying to deal with their own immigration headaches, and you think one country is copying another. Lol.
Read my words well, I said "more confidence", not that they follow after US. What that means is "more moral justification so they don't look like racists or mean". It's all about "not looking like the bad guy!"
And that UK is trying to limit legal immigration is all media sentiment for the govt to look like they're doing something. What they have simply done is to make it a lot more expensive, and take in the most highly skilled labour. Getting your ILR in 10 years means as an individual you would have spent over £12k on visa fees and IHS in addition to all the taxes you've paid, stuck on the same job, while you have no entitlement to any benefits.
UK has no local labour force - most are approaching retirement age - they need immigration to keep their system running. If all immigrants in UK go on one week strike, the whole system will collapse.

And why do western countries copy? It's simple - once one country closes its borders, immigrants will rush to the other. So they will all appear to close their borders at the same time.

If you want a sure and secured path to immigration to Canada, go as a PR. All these temporary visa and stuff too get wahala. Canada wants to reduce temporary residents in their country (students, workers on temporary/work visa etc) and it is understandable.

If you're running internet dependent business in Nigeria you must have at least 2 or 3 network subscriptions.
1. Your primary network is the one that has the best connection in your area. You have to test multiple ones before you pick this.
2. Your fallback network is the one with the second best connection/speed in your area.
3. Your spare network. You almost never use this one. But one day, you're so desperate you need to get things done now now.

This is the only way to avoid high BP.
