Barka da sallah house, I'm in a jam. Uni-assist just got back to me that my my application is incomplete. They stated that "The copy of the documentation of your studies in the original language, issued by your university". That it wasn't sufficiently authenticated and show original stamp/signature. Despite the fact I did certify at the embassy with my other docs. My issue is;
1) What document are they talking about? Is it my school certificate? Transcript? (I'm applying with statement of result)

2)How do I go about resolving this because time is of the essence. Thanks.

What I can tell you about this kind of issue with Uni-assist is that, discuss with uni-assist and hope you can reach a compromise where your application is forwarded. If not, and the deadline has passed and uni-assist will not accept any extra documents, contact the course coordinator and reason with him/her. The school can request that your application be forwarded either way.

2. DHL cost about 15k (not sure). There is a talked about student price which you can get on request for about half the price. However, TNT cost 7.8k and they will deliver on the third day. You can google courier-plus address for Abuja, they are TNT agents outside Lagos, as TNT is only internationally present in Lagos.

3. You need to get your complete documents and application form to uni - assist by the deadline. uni-assist have a deadline to process your application and forward to the school for admissions, which doesn't affect you. (LOL)

4. It is free. Find out the days and times you must be there to certify docs. Reports say they are very strict.

how do you have 16 docs to certify? You only have to certify COPIES, documents that you cant submit originals. Usually certificates and transcripts. send original application forms, CV, motivation letter and essay SIGNED WITH DATE AND LOCATION (if the school mentioned this)

When did TUM notify you that your documents are okay and they need proof of non - school activities? when did you send your documents and what course did you apply for?

on my application, proof of non - school activities is optional, so I didn't bother about it

Touched by @Pepson's post, I have decided to throw my own personal ordeal to the house here and see if anyone has had a similar experience. I hope to receive advice from you guys.
Errm... Ok, I applied to 3 Universities for Master Program in 2016 Summer . I was admitted to the University of Koblenz-Landau (Environmental Sci). The summer program began on 01.04.16. I had my student visa application interview on 29th Jan, 2016 and I received a mail from the embassy an hour after the interview stating that I should fund my account and send the confirmation to them in order to complete my visa application. The other guy we had the interview same day called me a week after the interview that his documents was posted to him in Kano with a rejection letter (despite say the guy don fund even before interview oh). I became afraid I would also be denied but I didn't get any message from the embassy at all. To spoil it all, I had difficulties funding my blocked account then. As the enrolment deadline drew closer, I decided to send a mail to the embassy in the first week of April (before enrolment deadline @ Koblenz) telling the embassy to withhold my visa application. I explained in the mail that I had written to my prospective university that I would like to re-apply for winter '16 (this winter). I also explained that I want to learn some Deutsch at the Goethe Institut with my free period before winter (which am currently doing). I didn't get any reply from the embassy. I feared that my documents would be posted to me with a rejection letter in the courier envelope I submitted after interview. I kept tracking the self-addressed courier envelope online everyday, yet nothing!‎
Finally, winter applications for Master Program opened and thank GOD I had many certified copies of my credentials so I didn't really need my original documents (wey dey for embassy since January 29th interview date). I began to apply afresh for winter with my certified copies of credentials.‎
Now I have admission letter from that same University of Koblenz-Landau (wey I use do interview), and I also have admission letters from ALU-Freiburg, JLU-Giessen, University of Duisburg-Essen and also awaiting from Uni-Bremen und Trier. I'm presently in a position to fund my blocked account with Form-A.
Now my question is this: ‎
After I successfully fund my blocked account, do I have to book for a fresh interview at the embassy again oder Should I just send the DB blocked account payment confirmation with the new Winter Admission Letter from Uni-Koblenz (since I used the summer admission letter of same University for interview)?
Is there anyone here that has been in this kind of scenario? Pls advise because man no fit sleep oh. Danke schön.‎

Let me share my personal experience I got with regard to my student visa at the German Embassy.I got my bachelor in 2013, during my interview that took place on the 9 may 2016 ,I told the visa officer that sometimes after my bachelor I got involve into business, why I mentioned that was because I wanted to make him understand that I wasn’t just staying inthe house doing notting at least I kept myself busy.I didn’t give detailed explanation to the consular officer as to why I got involve into business.I did that for 6 months in 2015.....I didn't know that this information I'm giving could make the visa officer think otherwise!!!.After answering series of question from the visa officer I left the embassy confident that I would be given a student visa.
After 3 weeks I received an email from the embassy ,it was a refusal letter.The refusal was on the ground that the German Embassy doubts my intention of studying and my language certificate isn’t reliable (this is the attestation I obtained from the language centre I was enrolled ).I was very shock...I calmed down for 3 days. After which I start preparing to write a remonstration letter (even though people were discouraging me not to write because according to them the embassy will not reply to it ,instead they were advising me to go for german classes and take the ZIDAF exam befor reapplying,for me it didn't make any sense as the master course I'm admitted is taught entirely in English and german proficiency isn't a requirement for enrolment. In 2014 I did English classes to under take the international English language testing system (IELTS) in view to apply for my master course. I wanted to acquaint myself with german language before travelling to Germany, so I went for german classes as well and completed level one.I attached supporting documents to my remonstration letter and went to deposit it at the German embass.6 days later I received a call from the german embassy requesting me to come the following day .After,the call I started thinking on what to say why I got involve into buiness since the embassy thinks I want to use my student visa otherwise. The following day at 7 am I was already at the embassy, I got in and sat in the waiting room.my name was called and I got up and move to the box where heard my name.To my great surprise 3 visa officers where already waiting for me,all were female.let me call them lady1, lady2, lady3.I sat down my blood pressure started to increase.lady2 was beside lady1 with an A4 paper on it were series of questions and photocopies of my course content my heart rate started increasing because i wasnt prepared for an interview,I thought that they will instead discuss with me the reasons for my rejection and what i wrote on my letter of remonstration,lady3 had the remonstration letter and the supporting documents I summitted to the embassy earlier.lady1 asked the first question I answered then lady2 asked I answered then lady1 switch off the microphone and was conversing with her colleagues, after conversation she switched on her microphone and lady3 tick first question on her A4 paper. Same thing happened through out the interview.After bombarding me with series of question they went into my course content,the fact that I was afraid , my heart beating rate increasing and being interviewed by 3 consular officer intimidated me ,confusion started I wasn't coherent when explaining my course content because I wasn't at all prepare for that.Finally last question lady1 asked.....u had your bachelor in 2013 what where you doing that you decided to apply for master studies in 2016.I explained she then asked for evidence and I summitted. I was then ask to go into the waiting room and that they will call me back in 5 minutes,I went as requested and after 10 minutes I was called.I set to myself that these ladies won't change their decision there r still going to refuse me the visa and maintain my rejection.I sat lady1 started saying........ I would be very open to you (just that statement made my heart rate to increase) compared to other master student you were very weak in explaining your course content (I new it was finished with me), she then said however (Just this word "however" made my heart rate to drop) to us at the embassy we say yes to your application (all 3 ladies smile but I wasn't smiling with them at all) but the final say is from the competent authority in Germany and the procedure will take upto 2 months. If you are refused a visa(she spoiled everything again and you decide to reapply master your course content and certain technical aspect before applying....she continues to smile while saying good luck and I wish you the best,lady2 and lady3 were smiling also then lady2 told me....I wish you the best in your master thesis.I responded by saying thank you.while leaving the embassy I was kind of surprised that they didn't discus with me the reasons for my rejection and I too didn't mention that because they didn't ask,I was waiting for them to talk about it before I could say something .since this interview my days and nights have not been the same,I'm always refreshing about this interview and wondering if I will be granted this visa.

Please anybody that has come across such situation or anybody reading should please give me his or her opinion on this matter and if I stand a chance for my visa to be granted. Thank you

I think you will get your visa. Which university are you headed? Find out the contact details (phone number preferably) of the Ausländerbehörde in the city your uni is located. Give them one more week from today and call them about your application. Best of luck

The final decision is then made by the foreigners office of the city you are headed.

Thanks Eke40seven. From Duisburg-essen is a conditional admission. They asked me to write IELTS (6.5) or TOEFL (86ibt) and send the scores in order to get the authentic admission and they gave me till Sept 9th to do that. Aber I already got admission frm Koblenz-Landau and Freiburg, awaiting Trier.

If you want to write toefl

Download the software, toefl interactive sampler 2014 and toefl sampler 2009(i prefer the older one). Download toefl preparatory guide (pdf). Download the mobile application Edusynch, it will give you loads of toefl style questions. I used it on Android (it's in beta stage now and it is free including speaking and writing section)

Familiarise yourself with how the exam is structured, how the questions are asked and the different types of questions in all the stages and how all these questions are scored. It will help you organise your answers. Try to practice each section in exam manner at least 5 times.

Don't let all these make you feel like it's too much work. If you register now, the time between now and the exam is enough if you dedicate an hour to study everyday. These exams are designed for people who don't speak English day to day not for educated Nigerians. I scored 110,and I didn't follow my advice here. All perused all those materials once. Lots of edusynch tho

I prefer toefl iBT to ielts because it is computer based whereas ielts is paper based (no be say I don't write am). That's me anyway. Best of luck

In addition, mail the school. Uni-assist will most likely tell you that they agreed on that deadline with the school and they cannot go against it except the school allows it.

I just got my passport earlier in the year. You can do most of the passport process yourself by visiting the Nigerian immigration service portal, you follow the instructions and register, then pay 17.6k(not sure) via payarena (you will initiate the payment online, print a slip and pay at the bank) then take this with plenty documents (birth certificate, indigene cert, and Guarantors passport photocopy and drivers license/national idetc) to the immigration office you selected close to you. The process is designed to scam of about 4k if you want it done quickly.

You can save some stress and pay 25k or 30k to the guys at the immigration office to get it done for you but you still have to provide all those documents

I still need some clarifications on finances. If 1.55m in a naija bank account gets me RP. When I get to Suomi the only way to access it is via atm and online banking. Atm withdrawals is at the market rate which is predicted to be about 380 to 400, which we hope to settle to 300 soon. This effectively reduces the €6720 to less than €5000. Can one survive in Helsinki (where rents alone is almost €400) on about €400/mo.

Please I need some further explanations, I'm hoping it's my research that is lacking in some way

The way you seem to think is very disappointing, I don't want you to feel insulted but maybe try to sincerely reassess how you still think and adjust.

The amount of failure you expose yourself to, is a result of your threshold for risk. I am typing this off the top of my head, I might not be accurate or comprehensive, but try to follow . Everyone who has done anything on his/her own understands this. It's a risk to use your last N100 to transport yourself to where you can make 1k, because your making 1k is not sure, but you will do it for the 1k even though you know you might have to trek home. You know you can do it, if you have to.
The people on this thread who have made enough to build a house, buy an SUV or Danfo understand this.
The willingness or otherwise, to sell your belongings to travel for quality higher education in Germany is NOT your decision to make for anybody. It is not really your concern if you have done your duty of sensitizing us to the cons of the German education hustle (which is all I see you do on this thread). It is the decision of the property owner to make.

What nevilbot, Diboss and Co have done, explaining the usual expenses on a salary of €2500/mo is enough. Explaining the difficulty of getting jobs in certain fields of study is enough, for any right thinking person to make a decision.

Don't take it soo seriously 'for your head'. Don't spend your time sending messages to all your German friends when you can sit down access the German environment, figure out a need that you can meet or skill that is in demand related to your field of study and equip yourself.

The rule of demand and supply is the same all over the world. If you can supply what is in high demand, you will be highly sought after. It is only when you don't have anything of value to offer a society that the society rejects you

Nigeria’s central bank is “reasonably optimistic” the naira will settle at around 250 to the U.S. dollar after an initial period of weakness following a flotation on Monday, the bank’s governor has said in a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Nigeria’s central bank said on Wednesday it would begin market-driven foreign currency trading next week, abandoning the peg of 197 naira per dollar that it has supported for 16 months.

Foreign investors and economists have called for months for a devaluation as chronic foreign currency shortages choked economic growth and deterred investment.

The naira is expected to fall sharply when interbank trading begins on Monday, but the central bank said it did not have a target for the currency and the price would be “purely” market-driven. The naira was trading on the black market at around 370 to the dollar on Thursday.

Giving the first indication of a target, Governor Godwin Emefiele said in a June 3 letter to Buhari — seen by Reuters — that the central bank hopes the naira will eventually trade at around 250 per dollar, a level the president has “approved”.

“I must assure Your Excellency that we are indeed reasonably optimistic that at some point the rate will settle around 250 naira,” Emefiele says in the letter.

The letter, which briefs Buhari on the foreign exchange plan announced on Wednesday, says it could take three to four weeks to clear a $4 billion backlog of foreign exchange demand.

Buhari has for months said that he does not want the naira to be devalued, but backed a more flexible exchange rate policy when the central bank outlined its plans in May, without elaborating.

The presidency has not commented on the new regime, with Buhari’s spokesman declining to comment when Reuters called on Wednesday.

The central bank could not be immediately reached for comment.

Africa’s biggest economy, which contracted by 0.4 percent in the first quarter, faces its worst crisis in decades after the decline in oil prices since 2014 and last year’s introduction of a currency peg, which prompted a large-scale capital flight.

With a likely sharp fall for the naira, Nigerian products will become relatively cheap and imports more expensive, which should stimulate the domestic economy but also lift inflation.

Buhari has previously raised concerns about the inflationary impact that a weaker currency will have on Nigeria’s poor.

Nigeria, Africa’s largest crude exporter, has resisted devaluing its currency for more than a year despite other major oil producers, including Russia, Kazakhstan and Angola, allowing currencies to fall after crude prices collapsed.

The 'after some time' is the issue. Economists can't predict how long this after some time is going to be.

There are futures transactions, you can buy the futures of the euro from a broker when the rate is low pending when you will need it, as the price maybe higher then.

What this means is that, let's say on Monday the CBN starts to sell the euro in the interbank market at N287 (unlikely). And the rate is predicted to rise up to 400 during the next 6 months before it comes down again. And you need euro in 2 months time, when the rate will be high. You can buy futures of the euro on Monday at 287 against your blocked account funding in 2 months, for example, by paying the broker a commission. You will get the Euro in two months at 287 when others are buying for a higher rate, say 350.

This is my understanding of the stuff, Economists can help us with corrections, clarification, elaborations or comments.

I tried sending my uni assist hard copy application and my other documents via NIPOST, I am yet to get any response since the middle of May.
Since application closes in July 15 and uni assist needs 4 weeks to process, I have sent in another one so that I will not "shot my self by d leg" in d name of hope it will get there.

Uni-assist is not prompt with notification, when they receive documents, are they? Anyway, my documents took 3 weeks to reach TUM via Nipost. I think that is fair for its price. The four weeks uni-assist requires to submit your documents doesn't concern you and deadline. As long as they receive the application before the deadline, they will process it and foward to the school. The late arrival will only affect your application to schools that do continous admission. For programs that have a number of students they want to accept, they won't give anyone admission until a few weeks after the deadline. It doesn't matter
