MSC neuroscience is a research based masters with no link to clinical work experience like I tot before coming. All they train u for is lab research both useful and useless ones and upon graduation, dey expect u to toe the PhD, post doc line and become a prof jumping from one research to another and writing/publishing papers. Most of the research I must also say av no link to a developing country like Nigeria. The results won't be of benefit to me or my country for now. This is not a carrier path I envisage for myself. I don't want to end up as a lab rat white haired prof in one German institute.

Basically universities in Germany are research oriented especially in d medical sciences while uni of applied sciences are d one structured to prepare u for d work environment but many of us do not know that before coming over. So since I want a carrier outside academia for myself, I'm switching to a uni of applied sciences to get the needed training for clinical practice.
Thank you. This is what I wanted you to explain to us earlier

Daad.de is NOT a long tin at all. Na short thing sef and it's very convenient. You can filter courses in so many ways, language and field (eg engineering) inclusive. Get to work, if that is even work sef. Child's play

I subscribe to answering questions from anyone but some questions don't deserve to be answered. Majority just require a nudge in the right direction not an epistle of all you know about the admission and visa process.

Best of luck to us all

When you get the original or students copy, treat it how you treat your university cert. Make copies and certify it as true copy to every and any school that requests for it.

Confirm the acceptability of students copy tho.

Please I need a clarification about the €6720 required for visa.

1. I know it can be shown from a Nigerian bank account but will I calculate 6720€ using official rate or black market rate? That would mean a difference of up to a million naira!

2. If it's at black market rate, fine! But if it is at official rate, how will a student access the money in the account from Finland at official rate? What's the exchange rate of the major banks accepted by migri on Finnish atms? Ogas in Finland

Please indicate if this has been thrashed before on this thread or anywhere else using page numbers or approximate date.

I am applying for a masters program run by Helsinki metropolia university and HTW Berlin. Application is to htw Berlin but first two semesters are in Helsinki.

I will appreciate any help from you guys

If you are applying for ConREM, PM me.

Either way, the exposition into the content and purpose of academic pursuit at masters level requires that you simply explain what is taught at masters level in comparison to bachelors level, how it is structured and why masters level education is needed by anyone or the society.

It looks simple but I've not gotten to the point of actually writing the two pages. But the requirements are in a pdf doc I downloaded from the school website a long time ago. If I can find it....

If you search well you can find it too.

Best of luck to us

I don't understand what you mean by PayPal alert. My PayPal account shows the transaction and the website I paid to has mailed me a confirmation email. But I don't even know their exchange rate, that's my biggest concern

I don't normally get IBTC online purchases alert instantly even when there are no system upgrades. So your delay may be the usual delay in alerts as I usually experience or it may be due to the system upgrades over the weekend.
Stanbic delays, yes, but it wasn't up to 15 hours before the upgrade (abi na down). I'll have to go check at the bank or atm.

Welcome back Godson201333, hope you've been doing well. Are you working in Germany now?

I believe Bafög can be increased by the government to its beneficiaries without the embassy increasing the minimum that has to be blocked in a German account! I am just guessing tho... I hope I'm right

If the embassy wants to increase blocked account minimum, I believe they will inform us at least 6 months prior to enforcement. They might not be compelled to but this is only fair and logical.

We go dey await official information

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigerian Airforce DSSC 2016 Recruitment Out! by weirdarkhitekt(m): 9:30pm On May 01, 2016
I passed by the NAF Base kaduna this evening and applicants from Enugu and FCT were allowed to go into the Base for screening right in front of me. If you look at the timetable for kaduna, you will see that the states are arranged in alphabetical order and these states were supposed to be screened on Tuesday.

So I believe tomorrow, applicants from at least, Benue to Ebonyi will be called, and when they are done with them they will keep calling applicants from the states that follow(hopefully, even abia to bayelsa, who missed their day) until they close.

I don't know much more about what happened during the day as I didn't spend up to 5 mins there, but with this I think APPLICANTS REPORT ING TO KADUNA for screening can make better decisions and plan their visits better. This also makes the process in kaduna look like it will be easier than other states.

There should be a lot of spare time for everyone to get to kaduna for their screening.

Applicants in kaduna were not asked to sit on the floor until you have been called into the Base for screening and if I'm not mistaken the timetable was pasted first in kaduna. However, this does not mean anything. Just to reduce the anxiety of those travelling down to kaduna.

The relative ease in the Kaduna centre might be because Kaduna is the HQ of all military training in the Air Force And Army, maybe everything is organised from there.

I also heard ladies who wore skirts were chastised. This should help all ladies yet to be screened.

BEST OF LUCK TO ALL

What is the difference between those two?

Not sure about master point but you can post the link here..will have a look at it.
They offer similar services and you can choose either but I prefer daad.de for searching for courses and application requirements while study-in.de has more information on application processes. Getting information from both websites is the best. Daad.de is run by the daad (German academic exchange service)
While study-in.de is run by the ministry of education and research.

Masterportal.eu is also a website like the two above but it is not Germany specific, it covers the entire European continent.

Here is the part 3 as requested, please continue posting your Q&S here, Part 2 is now 468 pages and too long to read through for many.

Part 2 is here for reference purposes: https://www.nairaland.com/2098236/general-german-visa-enquiries-part

I really have to thank those who stayed back to help even after getting their visas despite their busy study and work programs in Germany.

I also have to thank those who shared their experiences right from visa journey to life in Germany as foreign students.

For newbies your German school search starts here https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/en/

Thank you.
Please add study-in.de and masterportal links to the first post. These websites, with daad.de (and uni-assist for some) gives you enough GENERAL information to start your application process immediately. THEN the part 2 of this series of threads has detailed naija specific information for applicants to successfully get admission and visa.

I'll also advise newbies to browse this series of threads and find posts from exactly one year ago and six months ago before asking questions. This will get anyone better acquainted with what should be done and how best to get it done.

I think these might help us all get optimum benefits from these series of threads. The first post determines the next step a newcomer is likely to take.

Thank you all

Pls help ur brother, if I use my 1st degree to apply for another undergraduate degree in Germany, won't they reject my visa on the ground that I have a degree before. I b novice
They will not, but you have to give good reasons for wanting to take another bachelor degree and why you want to switch fields.

Your first degree definitely qualifies for direct first degree in Germany.

Your degree in geophysics might qualify you can for a masters degree in petroleum engineering, check daad.de for petroleum related masters programs and check their requirements.

Immediately I saw the heading of 'the worst federal road ever travelled' I rushed in to counter your argument with the fact that it couldn't be worse than enugu-onitsha express road, but alas,I came in to see that you are talking about the same road.
When I plan to travel to enugu from lagos, just to avoid that road I usually make a detour in onitsha and head to owerri where I'll just look for something to do for a day or two and then from owerri I'll enter enugu thru the enugu-ph express way(via ituku ozalla). All,just to avoid this 45mins toture of a road
FavourYemmy

There is the old Enugu Onitsha Road which bypasses some terrible sections of the road. I'm not very familiar with the route but I've gone to work in a village along Old Road and it's very good. Luxurious buses also follow this road up to Awka to dodge the terrible express. From Onitsha, it is along Npkor Road

JUST GOOGLE THE NIGERIAN IMMIGRATION SERVICE PORTAL. APPLY FOR THE PASSPORT BY FILLING IN ALL YOUR DETAILS. PRINT THE GUARANTORS FORM AND TAKE THEM TO THE NEAREST IMMIGRATION OFFICE.

IF THERE IS A LOT OF PEOPLE THERE AND YOU REALLY NEED IT FAST, GET TO AN AGENT GIVE HIM YOUR

1. APPLICATION FORM
2. PASSPORT PHOTOS AS SPECIFIED ON THE PORTAL
3. BIRTH CERTIFICATE
4. LOCAL GOVERNMENT CERTIFICATE OF INDIGENE
5. GUARANTORS FORM- DOWNLOAD IT, GET YOUR GUARANTOR TO FILL IT AND SIGN IT BEFORE A COURT OR NOTARY PUBLIC, PHOTOCOPY THE DATA PAGE OF HIS PASSPORT, PHOTOCOPY HIS DRIVERS LICENSE/NATIONAL ID, A PASSPORT PHOTO
6. PAY N17600 ONLINE AND PRINT YOUR RECEIPT

CONFIRM ALL THERE FROM THE WEBSITE.

GIVE ALL THESE TO THE AGENT AND NEGOTIATE A FEE WITH HIM (LIKE 2K-3K, TOTALLING ABOUT 29-21K)
IF ALL THESE PROCESSES IS TOO MUCH FOR YOU OR YOU DONT HAVE SOME OF THESE DOCUMENTS. 8K IS NOT THAT MUCH.

PAY THE 25K-30K

Williamso:
Firstly, Congratulations Promise2, we will be expecting you!

Jetzt Ogaga. Normally, I will not take this post seriously as I expect you to know better, seeing that you are already in Deutschland. I do take offense in the fact that ignorant people will read your post and learn Dutch from Nigeria, only to come here and discover that an entirely different language is being used. It is for this reason I will trash this issue.
1. I never said that you said "English is not a Language." I simply used your analogy to imply that. And as a refresher, this is a quote from your own post "Germans are the people and not the language in English, just as Deutschers are the people in deutsch"... You are intelligent so you should understand my use of implied analogy.
2a. English is the language spoken by the English... originally?? When did it change? English is the nationality AND the language! A person from England(not Britain) is English and speaks English (a person from Britain is English a Brit or a Briton).
2b. You don't think it's relevant nowadays? You should take a summer trip to the UK then!
3. Sweden and Netherlands DO NOT speak Deutsch! They speak Swedish(Svenska) and Dutch(I don't know this in the language) respectively.
Come on! Jetzt bist du in Deutschland. Was ist der Untershied zwischen French, Français und Französischhuh

Finally, I understand the point(s) you were trying to make, but you were absolutely wrong! The language you were probably talking about is Germanic not German -which is the same as Deutsch.
The Germanic language, which is not spoken anymore is where many modern day European languages were derived from. English, German, Dutch, Frisian, etc are from this language. So yes, Germanic and Deutsch are completely different, aber Deutsch und German sind absolut gleich!
The Germanic languages are a family. Many languages spoken in Europe fall under this classification. You are right, That's what ogagaejay is mixing up
TravelRe: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by weirdarkhitekt(m): 6:58pm On Feb 23, 2016
ogagaejay:
Are you so frustrated that you insult your parents? What a pity.
I cannot accept that "Over secretion" affects black people because I am black grin. But why can't we be civilised, my God. Someone jumps in from the corner to say "...you are so stupid". because you say let's discuss concept. I would rather discuss with Williamso because he has something to contribute not you, sorry.
What is confusing ogagaejay is Germanic Languages. English, German and Dutch are one class of the Germanic. (West germanic or south germanic, not sure rn) The Scandinavian countries speak different languages which are classified as north Germanic (Finnish, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian etc) and there are East Germanic languages which are no longer spoken now, gothic etc. This is a classification done by linguists who study origins and similarities of these languages and called them Germanic. They are different languages to you and I, laymen.

English : Originally native to England before they spread the language through colonisation. Widely spoken today by dozens of countries

German : The German language spoken in Germany and some neighbouring countries (Austria, Poland?, Czech Republic?)

Dutch: the language of the people of the Netherlands
