Jesus commanded us never to pray when men are trying to observe us do so {Matthew 6:5-6} he never prayed in the presence of his disciples that's why they begged him to teach them how to pray {Luke 11:1} so the first time he prayed with them apostle John was so exited that he later penned down all the words in Jesus' prayers {John chapter 17} and noteworthy is when he said:

For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.John 17:8-9

So Jesus won't pray for anyone or with anyone unless the person has fully agreed to live by Jesus' teachings and that's in accordance with what prophets of ancient times penned down regarding prayer! Proverbs 28:9; Jeremiah 11:14; 14:11

So Mr Westerhoffe real disciples of Christ can't pray to entertain you it's against the teachings of our Master, Lord and King Christ Jesus!

Draw Close to God Through Prayer

Do you ever feel that you need guidance in life? Do you have important questions that you want answered? Do you need comfort or reassurance? Would you like to feel closer to Jehovah? Prayer can help you fill all of those needs. But what is the right way to pray? Does God listen to all prayers? What can you do to make sure that he will hear your prayers? Let us see.

1. To whom should we pray, and what can we pray about?

Jesus taught that we should pray only to our heavenly Father. Jesus himself prayed to Jehovah. He said: “You must pray, then, this way: ‘Our Father in the heavens . . .’” (Matthew 6:9) When we pray to Jehovah, we strengthen our friendship with him.We can pray about practically any matter. Of course, for God to answer our prayers, they must be in harmony with his will. “No matter what we ask according to [God’s] will, he hears us.” (1 John 5:14) Jesus gave examples of appropriate things to pray for. (Read Matthew 6:9-13.) In addition to praying about our personal concerns, we must not forget to thank God for what he has done for us and ask him to help others.

2. How should we pray?

The Bible encourages us to “pour out [our] hearts before [God].” (Psalm 62: So our prayers should be sincere and heartfelt. We can pray aloud or silently and in any respectful body position. We can pray at any time and in any location.

3. How does God answer our prayers?

He does so in a variety of ways. Jehovah has provided his Word, the Bible, where we often find answers to our questions. Reading God’s Word can “[make] the inexperienced one wise.” (Psalm 19:7; read James 1:5.) He can give us peace of mind when we face challenges. And he can move his worshippers to help us when we really need it.

I gave up everything I own and moved here from the states to marry my Nigerian man and build a new life with him. We were long distance for 2 years and I’ve now lived here 2.5 years. We’ve been on/off/on/off most of the time I’ve lived here.
Now finally, we had a come to Jesus with each other and decided to marry, relocate to South Africa and apply for him to live in the US. He left going to SA, saying he’s coming back in 3 weeks. 3 weeks has now turned to 3 months. & now, yesterday he told me he’s not coming back. He said he’s not marrying me and I should marry his eldest brother if I want to marry.
So now I sit here in SHOCK….
I honestly don’t know what to do. His family is also shocked.
While he’s there, a few weeks ago, I caught him with a girl on IG, which he denies.
We’ve had our ups and downs but I honestly never thought he would outright abandon me in Nigeria while he goes to another country. What kind of person does this
I’m still trying to pick myself up off the floor.

& before you say scam. I felt like I knew him since being together for 4 years, I believe he truly loved me but something happened since he went to SA. Maybe the girl I found him with or maybe he just decided he doesn’t want me after all. And that’s fine but this isn’t the way you leave someone, abandoning them in Nigeria.
Luckily for me, his family is supportive and helpful.
Otherwise I’d be 100% lost.
I’m just venting because honestly I’m in shock & hurting.
