Health › Re: 19m Nigerians Living With Hepatitis – FG by Westman001: 4:41pm On Jul 29, 2023 |
fastseo: HBV don't affect kidney rather liver.
you could get it from childhood. most people with hbv are those who get its from child hood as the virus refuses to clear as a result of weak immune system in children. adults will clear the virus 95% to 99% of the time they get it and go further to developing naturally immune system.
hbv is of two stages - active and inactive and to know which one u got.. 'go for hbv profile test.. if you are able to clear the HBeAg or it shows negative then you are innactive.
it mean that the virus is not multiplying or affecting u. and as such you won't or might not be needing any drugs. but must stay away from alcohol, meat and oily food. the good news is that 80 to 90 % of hbv patients are always like this and they won't be sick. that's why the government has made it compulsory for all children to be vaccinated I think Nigeria started vaccination for children in 2004 while USA started 1990
in addition you should go for yearly checkup like liver scan n LFT test to know how ur liver is.
Note : 90% of Nigerian doctors don't fully understand what hbv is all about. even the said gastroenterologist only a few actually understands it. as they might scare the shit out of u.
Apart from this you will leave a normal life unless other things kill u.
hbv kills when you fail to detect it on time, that's why everyone should go for testing. detect it and if you need medication to suppress it. you start taking it.
it takes herpetites b 20 to 30 years to destroy the liver and if you have it you don't know and you still go ahead to take alcohol then that follow can die within 10 to 15 years. note that herpetites does not kill rather it affects the liver and causes fibrosis and cirrhosis. while fibrosis if detected could be reverse the said can't be said of cirrhosis and it takes 20 years of active high level load of hbv to get cirrhosis.
There are trial drugs on going and in 2 years time it will be in mrkt there is a drug that is known to cure the virus but they are recording 35 to 40% success rate and those who are likely to benefit are those with lower load.
but other trail drugs are on the way... in next 10 years are so maybe a cure to get everyone free will be found just as the case of herpetites c which now has a cure
note: no herbal drugs can cure it.... don't drink any herb as it could complicate things or affects the kidney. Thank you for this detailed info. Please, are you a medical practitioner? |

Sports › Re: Kylian Mbappe: PSG Accepts Al Hilal's £259m For Wantaway French Forward by Westman001: 8:28pm On Jul 24, 2023 |
April396949: Wow, that is an astronomical transfer fee for Kylian Mbappe! It's clear that Al Hilal is willing to go to great lengths to secure the services of the young French forward. Mbappe has been one of the most sought-after players in the world, and it's not surprising to see such a huge offer being made for him.
This move raises several questions about Mbappe's future and his desire to leave PSG. If the reports are true and PSG has accepted the offer, it suggests that the player might be looking for a fresh challenge and is ready to move on from Paris.
On the other hand, PSG may see this as a great opportunity to make a massive profit on a player who could potentially leave on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires. £259m is an astronomical sum, and it could provide PSG with the funds to strengthen their squad significantly.
However, it's worth noting that the final decision ultimately lies with Mbappe himself. He will need to agree to personal terms with Al Hilal and decide if a move to Saudi Arabia is something that interests him. Mbappe has previously stated that he wants to win titles and play in competitive leagues, so it remains to be seen if Al Hilal can offer him the same level of competition he desires.
Overall, if this transfer were to go through, it would undoubtedly be one of the biggest in football history. It would also signal a major shift in power and ambition within the game, with Al Hilal flexing their financial muscle to attract a global superstar like Mbappe. Are you a pundit. Like one of these sport pundit? You just analyze fairly. |

opalu: The Offer is so juicy that he had to resign such a good job. Why can't Government work be 100% volunteering basis? And also part time basis? I thought they are to SERVE? Exactly! I think his reason for resigning could be more than the committee. He's probably one of the yet to be announced ministers. Cos committees can be dissolved at any moment. Political government positions or role are not permanent and I think the law should make it clear. That's why somebody that served eight years as a governor would digress again to take a Ministerial position and from there to Senate. This is why the country is neither going forward nor improving because we are just rotating same old brain and old ideas. Government political position is not a career. It's a service. |
Health › Re: My Experience Today When I Went For Culture Test. What The Woman Said. by Westman001: 2:03pm On Jul 19, 2023 |
HanisahZuwy: Today, I went to a government/general hospital to see a doctor. When I got there, I got card and waited for my turn to see the doctor. Then it was finally my turn and I went in, told the doctor the symptoms I'm experiencing, and then he referred me to the lab for a culture test.
When I got to the lab, I went to the cashier to make payments for the test and thereafter waited for my turn. When it was finally my turn, some documentations were made, instrument for the culture collection was given to me and I was referred to a woman who would handle the culture test.
When I got to her(the woman), she pointed to an enclosure, that I should enter there, UnCloth, lie on the raised bed and open my legs. So, I went in, then came out immediately to ask her if I can collect it myself. She said no, that I won't do it well, that I would just get the surface and won't go deep. So, I agreed. I went in, undressed, got on the bed and open my legs. So, she came and collected the specimen. This was somehow painful because she had to go very deep. After collecting the specimen, she then went to put it in the instrument that was given to me earlier, then came back immediately and said 'keep it up' with a thumbs up sign from her.
Since then, I've been wondering what she meant by that. Does anyone here have a clue what that could mean? This is a very stupid post. Ahn an,,,, Nairalanders funny ke. See question.. ah.. egbami ke. Christianity Etc › Re: The Hate On White Garment Churches by Westman001: 1:12am On Jun 26, 2023 |
Buddha3: Here I am wishing there was a way I could like this your comment twice.
You lucidly spelt out my beliefs. After having spent years rummaging through churches and different religious faiths, I have come to understand that nothing beats "Humanism".
There's a fine sense of satisfaction and fulfilment to living a life that shows compassion and regard for the next person. You can build spirituality individually through your private relationship with your creator, but having the interests of other humans at heart, is the only religion that gives peace to the mind and soothes the soul.
To this day, I still have squabbles with my father over my unwillingness to return to the ways of the church. But where is the essence to sleeping in a church for three or four days in a week and going home to be mean and crude towards your next door neighbour? We as humans have just completely lost the essence of what religion was meant to be.
I relate with every single soul, irrespective of their religious inclinations. But I am not one to be influenced against my will or choices. So this entire drama of "going to hell because I don't go to church" amuses me, more often than not. To even think that FxMasterz of a nigga labelled me ignorant of the ways of God, made me laugh the more. I have read the bible from cover to cover. I have read the book of mormon from front to back. I am currently reading the Quran, just to have the knowledge of its contents. But one sanctimonious and grossly puritanical nairalander feels he knows way too much for me to have an opinion where he speaks.
Nigerians sha.. !! Exactly! You said it well. It glad to know you have highly work on your mindset as me. And have control over what you believe in and not. We as humans have just completely lost the essence of what religion was meant to be. It would be great if people could focus more on humanity than religion. |
