I have followed your exchange on this issue from the very first page to the last, with keen interest.

I am particularly thrilled and impressed with the meticulous rendition of respective views, mostly by Otipoju and FxMasterz. You both obviously committed the entire Sunday morning defending your faiths, without realising that you were educating members of the audience, like me.

Like Otipoju, I spent the first two decades of my life touring churches. Whether Orthodox, pentecostal, Anglican or what have you. I have equally had stints with the Celestial Church of Christ and the Cherubim & Seraphim sect. I have garnered religious knowledge beyond my needs. As a matter of speaking, my father is a Regional Pastor with Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries. He's spent over 15years behind the pulpit.

Your understanding and subsequent interpretations of the word of God cannot be invalidated. You're building your faiths around the tenets of the foundations you were propped with, while growing. But in the course of your argument, any discerning reader will notice that FxMasterz is closed-minded and stubbornly averse to swallowing other opinions, as has always been the case with modern day Pentecostal christians. While Otipoju is mostly concerned about defending his faith, trying to correct historical stereotypes, while attempting to clearly back up the doctrines of his denomination with the bible.

Truth of the matter is, modern day christianity is intolerant of other opinions or criticisms. Muslims prefer to use physical violence to press home their religious demands. Christians just put a moral burden on the world and demonise other religions. It's an easier path to conquests...and less bloody. But ultimately, it does more harm than what Islamism encourages.

If all religions purportedly serve the same purpose of leading souls to heaven, why is there always the discrimination and mud-slinging? I was a part of Eckankar for over 2years and I can proudly pronounce that religion as one of the most peaceful, tolerant and harmonious, as compared to the rest. I don't have an in-depth knowledge of the workings of the CCC, but I can confidently tell you that if all white garment churches and even Christian churches live like them, we'll have more relative peace than we have now. Christianity today is becoming toxic and I find it saddening that their adherents never bother to recognise that.

All of this bickering is the major reason I no longer go to church or any other worship centers. You religious extremists have decidedly made life quite uncomfortable for the rest of the world. Before all these foreign religions, our ancestors worshipped their gods in their huts, married many wives, reaped the bountiful proceeds from their farms and handworks, and they lived long enough to tell tales to their great-grand-children. Today, even with all your promises of el-dorado from pulpits and worship centers, the world is sad, there is hunger, people die early, then we have to tolerate the in-fighting between adherents of different fates.

It's very sad!

Why do Pentecostal churches speak ill of white garment churches?

I am forced to ask this question with the trending news today where Pastor David Ibiyeomie said he hates white garment churches and how they used “DEMONIC PSALMS” to make enchantments and make someone become a drunkard.

While it is important to respect senior pastors and their grace, it is equally important that the fathers of faith be made to realize they are human and not some form of God or Angel

The society we live in is plagued by many vices with influences across religion, tribe, race, denomination, sex , geolocation and all. Good and bad people exist in churches be it Catholic, Pentecostal, Anglican, white garment etc.

Singling out the white garment brethren always doesn’t speak well of you. It confirms there is a grudge because you were once a strong member. WHO MADE YOU THEIR GOD OR JUDGE?

Funny enough, you worshipped in a white garment church for several years. Your name then was Akanebo Ibiyeomie, Cherubim church in Port harcourt 115 Aggrey road. You remember Prophet Zekala the dada man, Prophet Chukwunda, Prophet Ajaero and other great prophets that mentored you. Your brother Derefoma Akanebo was also a prophet while you did more of the prayers.

More stories are on their way out so that you be guided how you insult a church on whose altar you prayed for years. Can your history be complete without the white garment church story?

Some orthodox and white garment churches were founded as far back as 1900 -1929. When did the Pentecostal churches start? Does it mean our fathers and grand fathers that worshipped in the old white garment and orthodox churches are seated in hell? Is God unjust?

It is pertinent to state that the founder of the RCCG, Pa Josiah Akindayomi worshipped in Cherubim for several years. So it is safe to say RCCG has white garment foundation. Some of the doctrines still continued. For eg, RCCG has mother in Israel like Cherubim.

Jesus Christ taught us love as stated in Eph 4:15.

The hate and stigma on white garment churches have become too much and MUST STOP forthwith.

Whilst there are bad white garment churches, there are good ones. Whilst there are bad Pentecostal churches, there are good ones.

Serve your God and let them be. Your doctrine is never superior and you are not their god

Hmmm, that's not a reason for cheating, you could have divorced him and remarry. Then you'll carry your shoulder up. There's an islamic clerics whose wife was misbehaving also, when people asked him what was wrong, he said he can't let out the secret of who he's married to, unfortunately the issue led to divorce and people now ask him for the reason of divorce, he said he still can't reveal the secret of someone he once married and don't want to have anything to do with.

In as much as what she did was bad, the pastor should know that he also failed to provide her needs, when Jesus knew he was sent to the lost sheep, he did not marry because he wants to focus. That pastor would have done that but he went ahead to punish her by sex starving her apart from that, the pastor should have divorced her on a low key without all this drama. The shame is not on her alone but the pastor as well.

Most of those practices that they use to scar people are lies but they made it a secret from the populace. How do you surrender the sanctity of your stool and people to the hands of politicians because you want to be seen in political circles? My King, being the Paramount ruler of all Kings in Yakurr LGA, can have the ears of the President anyday, so long as he requests.

Yet, one corrupt and toad-like looking Governor can wake up overnight and depose a whole Emir, then go ahead to disintegrate his kingdom into smaller units. It's very shameful!

In Yakurr LGA of Cross River where I come from, the Obol Lopon (King) of Ugep is picked through a sacred traditional ritual that is performed by the Chief Priest and Kingmaker. The three maternal clans who have historically been christened for the stool are gathered, and whether there be 60 people in attendance, the chief priest throws the coronation towel of the gods that floats until it settles on the shoulder of the one who's chosen.

Once that's done, no single soul utters a word in argument or defiance. The king is crowned and can be on that stool for 50years or more, depending on what the gods deem fit, according to his well rounded earthly behaviour and handling of the stool.

No governor or political leader has a bloody say over who sits on that stool. The only time the Governor does the selection based on popular votes or opinion is when one king is to be crowned the paramount ruler of all other village kings in my LGA.

All these 21st century half-baked monarchies being decided by politicians is the reason people like Ganduje can wake up and disgrace a whole Emir, then balkanize his kingdom.. . Tomorrow una no go allow us hear something with nonsensical bragging!
