Politics › Re: Tinubu Approves Free Train Ride For Nigerians by Whitelion07(m): 9:20pm On Dec 16, 2024 |
mannobi: This is a very good gesture from the Tinubu government but the workers at the NRC won't make it work. Last year after the announcement was made, I booked online from Lagos to ibadan. It was a successful trip but I later realised that the officials were collecting money from some people who had not booked a seat online. They sold already booked seats to cash at hand passagers. When we got to I discovered that most of the people actually paid at discountedrates. Only few of us truly got our reserved seats. Return trip back to Lagos became a problem. They had locked all the seats so no one would be able to book anymore. I tried booking again just after the FG bonanza expired and it worked again. The problem in this country is actually we the people. We are determined not to make the country work and turned back to blame the government. imagine |

Heavensake1: I tell you. Why importing fuel ? We don't need the importation of fuel for any reason. What is really wrong with Tinubu self? Is this the way to encourage investors in Nigeria? Govt has been struggling to make our refineries work, but they couldn't. Here, we have people that have invested their resources in building refineries but because of greed govt want to ruin them. importation of fuel should continue until this greedy business men take it down notch. Price of rice scar rocketed immediately Nigeria decided to stop the importation of rice and encourage local producers of it. You go to market now to buy rice, you first of all need to beg the seller to give you good quality rice because of so many bad rice in the market nowadays. |

Politics › Re: FAAC: We Can’t Continue Using Bayelsa Money To Develop Other States – Diri by Whitelion07(m): 9:35am On May 13, 2024 |
Faiththatworks: I totally agree with the Governor of Bayelsa state,it's madness to claim Bayelsa is insolvent and can't survive without Federal Allocation, yet its oil and gas revenue is shared by 35 other states every month. I believe it's high time the revenue due to the oil producing states be increased to 50%. It's financial laziness for states like Osun,Kogi, Zamfara,Lagos and all the other states to expect revenue from the Oil and gas mined in Niger Delta state. What did these states contribute financially to the mining of oil and gas in the Niger Delta states to expect any form of revenue. The bible tells me you reap what you sow, what have these states sowed in the Niger Delta states in the last 30 years that they are continually paid revenue from the Oil and gas mined in these regions. Enough of the Unity Fear, let every state in Nigeria mine their natural resources, keep 50% of the resources and transfer what's left to the Federal purse. If anyone isn't comfortable with this suggestion, then it's time to start rethinking this project called Nigeria. God bless Nigeria if you like give them 100% of the revenue, they will still embezzle the money. |

vanbonattel: While condemning the actions of the Chinese supermarket if they actually prevented Nigerians from accessing the supermarket to shop, we must condemn evil in its entirety.
Many voters who looked like they came from a particular popular part of Nigeria were brazenly prevented from casting their votes in a presidential election in Nigeria here. Violence was freely meted out to the ones who dared to come forward to vote, Heads were broken, beatings were freely administered, the news and pictures of that abound in this very forum. Right under the very noses of security agencies, right inside Nigeria here. Right under the noses of those opening their mouths waaaa to shout injustice now.
Nobody was arrested, nobody is in jail for that.
Then what is our moral justification to condemn a simple act of refusal of entry in a private business? Which is worse? hypocrisy is when you turn a blind eye to same crime that happens in your house but frown at it when it happens outside your house. |

nairalanda1: With a forex reserve of 4 bn and with hefty loans leading to the debt that is eating 90% of our revenue , yes we ain't earning enough
I don't like BDC, but banning them won't change anything. No dollars to buffer the naira. Simple and short
See why you guys have never had good leadership? Up to today most of our revenue comes from oil. Oil prices are too volatile to pay us enough. Sensible government would have diversified since. Including this one to diversify to something else is not the major problem raither it is mismanagement of funds gotten from oil sales. The UAE, Kuwait and some other oil producing states depend majorly on oil sales as source of revenue, and they are doing fantastically well because there is high level of accountability in their government. It will shock you to know that those countries were once poor until they discover oil in their land. Nigeria has no business been poor if her government is sincere in their dealings and oil is more than enough to make us rich as a country. |

Kobojunkiee: You are not the first man to earn money abeg and you are not the first man to earn and cook at the same time, so please make we hear word. If you wanted a wife who earned money for her family too, you would have married a woman who did just that so let's not deviate.
You have a situation where clearly, you and your wife see things differently. Instead of creating an issue where an issue really ought not to exist— anyone can cook— the easiestsolution would be to take over the cooking yourself and do so the way you prefer it done. They say if you want something done right you have to do it yourself that is why I gave you the suggestion from earlier. stop giving wrong advice here, there is nothing wrong with what the person up there said. This is Africa not Europe, which one is anybody can cook? A woman is hell bent on sending her husband back to the village with her unesessary wastage and all you have to say is the man should start cooking by himself instead. |
