Literature / Story Of Boys Who Became Men by Whyke141: 3:50pm On Jun 18, 2018
When boys became men, there are stories painted on their lips ready to be torn off to brethrens treading the same path. When boys became men, there are tales untold during their transformation that'd be ready to be spitted out...

This is a story of courage not miracle. This is a story of faded love cum unrepentant selflessness. This is a story of boys who were painted on faces of humans as stones! - Boys whose bodies houses fire.

This is a story told by Brenda Martha on the soil of Kenya. This story is our story of survival... Enjoy!!!

I AM NIGERIA,
& This is Nigeria.

There are prayers that can't be answered except we burn incense & give sacrificial offering says our pastor, thus, I danced pitifully under a facade of joy to the alter to drop my last 1000 naira. Now home has become hell I'm scared to face, because Nkechi, my beautiful dutifully skillful wife awaits me at home for foodstuffs I promised to buy on my way back from church. But, what can I do after all, THIS IS NIGERIA!

Sanusi Bolaji Emmanuel on this one titled - I AM NIGERIA. Poem after Falz's "This Is Nigeria", painting colours of Nigeria on pages broken into shades of verses & stanzas.

Enjoy!

LEGACY (Ode to Quincy L. Burrowes)
Poet - Bill Ivans Gbafore

The beauty in this poem is the characterized rhythm & rhyme pattern it employs. Every reader would unconsciously snap his/her fingers while reading this poem - doubt that? Let's see!

Principally, this poem teaches all to hold on & persevere, live life to the fullest with the aim of leaving a trademark for others trailing behind. Sometimes when we need shoulders to lean on for motivation, I guess this poem would serve that position.

Now grab a seat, curve your lips to a shape of whistle, tap your tables gently & read this poem along with us!

This poem's salutation to fallen heroes & voices whose soul had been battered to the cross. This poem is full of emptiness just as the writer while penning...

This is also a poem calling us all to action once again for the sake of Benue.

Dear Someone,
Sometimes truly, there are certain moments you'll need shoulders to lean on; Palms to ply the route of your cheeks; Arms outstretched with you dying in them; Laps on which you bury your head into...
Sometime you'll need someone to talk to, someone who'll draw you closer & whisper into your ears; "All will be well".
Truly sometimes dear someone, you'll fall into this phase of life...

& Even if you find it difficult to get this calibres of people, then this poem is here to stand by you & draw your mind into the custody of peace - Dear someone, this poem is for you & those whose strength is fading away.

This is Akuvi Aguedze on paper once again, with this piece titled DEAR SOMEONE.

Dear Someone, hope you enjoy your read & find hope & courage to pick your shattered pieces to forge on in life after the read... Enjoy!

Prior to Brenda Martha poem titled DEFILED, which rings loud the menace of Rape the girl child is subjected to, Fagbeyide Kehinde debuts as Whyke's Voice with the same tune. He titled his; IKOKO AKUFO; The Lamentation Of A Broken Pot.

This poem is for the female child, filled with sad but thoughtful images painted on our conscious & subconscious mind.

Brevity & simplicity coupled with nature's-like symbolism is employed in this poem in order to ensure a smooth ride of reading.

Many a time do we run into our futures, while unknowingly forgetting better pieces of us in our pasts. We get carried away by illusions; mirages; things that doesn't exist. We forget our origin.

Over time, this illusions begins to accumulate, sending waves of forgetfulness into out brain veins. We get covered by another man's luxury, making us miss our paths to victory.

But, it's time to uncover the veil. This veil that we took upon ourselves by ourselves. It's time to break through this covering & continue our races towards total liberty. Africa, it is time to rise.

Cremation & his brothers are mirages that are to be exempted from our dailies.

Below is an article that dissects this topic of discussion so well. I had a smooth & understandable journey while reading it. I recommend it to everyone that has a little doubt or confusion over this topic here.

These all are axis' to cajole or rather confuse us.

I so much Love Mr Solomon as he took time to analyse this act of Thiers in his recently published article. PDP or APC is exactly the problem of Nigeria. They aren't fighting for the betterment of Nigeria but for that of their individual parties.

Please read this article as it sheds more light to this brouhaha we're all thrown into in Nigeria.

To every girl child is an implanted fear, to every girl child is an unknown future - maybe bright or dim.

To every girl child is the right to live, but to every girl child also is the right to die. To every girl child is the freedom to movement, but to every girl child is the tendency to walk into traps...

Traps built by the male child inorder to get access to their honeycombs. Every lady is prone to rape - beautiful, ugly...

What help can we thus render to save the girl child from falling completely into this ditch? This is Brenda Martha from Kenya doing her quota with this thrilling piece titled DEFILED.

Literature / The Reason I Live Without Fear - Poetry by Whyke141: 11:37am On May 19, 2018
Sometimes we get too acquainted with life that fear becomes a thing of objection - we live everyday believing fear has gone into extinction. But no! It didn't, rather are there some forces blinding our eyes from feeding on fear, making us live without an element of fear in us.

This is Bill Ivans Gbafore, the Liberian poet, sharpening our mind with this beauty laced piece titled - THE REASON I LIVE WITHOUT FEAR.

What makes us live without fear? What are the forces? How do we identify them & welcome them into our homes, thus calling fear a bastard - chasing him away from our souls.

How? Just How?
Why? Maybe when "How" is found.

Khu is the victim here. A rich & influential lady who falls into the trap of love - in love with a waiter. What would she do? Did she succeed in this journey of hers? Was she able to successfully trick the heart of Udu into falling for her also, or the reverse was the case?

Sometimes the male child becomes too broken that his lips fails to gesture to life again, his face becomes an apartment that houses death; stiffening his feet from leaving their place... Sometimes the male child is forced to keep quiet & face the travails of life all alone - silently. Why?

From birth has the male child being left all to himself in this part of the world we find ourselves in - Africa, and this has deeply eaten into our roots, sprouting termites in our society... What can be done.

This is Sanusi Emmanuel telling a tale of doom prior to his life as a boy child gradually developing into adulthood... This is no fiction.
